Like I said before, BR doesn’t mean… “Drop on to a part of the map out of the sky, scavenge for equipment, Have an encasing circle of death, and have no regenerative shields” BR only means massive FFA, Tetris is calling there 99 player game a Battle Royale. Keep shields, SPAWN with a weapon, have a random SPAWN point, and have endless waves of ai landing on the map until you’re completely overwhelmed… Just because Fortnite, PUBG, Apex, Cod, and Battlefield are doing that doesn’t mean it has to be “Just like the others” That would severely hurt halo, Halo can redefine the genre as it did fps and arena, It can still be HALO!!! I don’t understand why everyone thinks a BR would have to have specific aspects, it’s really not innovative.

> Because the particulars of the base game differentiate how the game plays.
i like the idea and most part i like the vehicles idea that you most have a key to use the vehicle thats something good and fair.
but there are few things off this idea i like to see chance and been add.
i like to see that the health restoring system most be the same like in the main halo that you shields restore there automatice if you not get hit any more that the system restore you schields and healt again that means like in the main halo game’s you most kill then fast before there health is restore and like in the main halo game’s the vehicles can kill you faster.
also i like to see that the players can jump from a covenant light cruiser and the other time its a UNSC ships like the Forward Unto Dawn that players jump from that 2 type ships on the maps.
also i like to see some sup missions players can do like: to unlock Jorge you most have a kill with a Machine gun to unlock him.
to unlock Kat you most get a kill with a pistol.
and keep on with the other spartans and elite chars you can unlock then to make it also some fun to play as a Spartan char from the halo main game thats think a dream we all have to play like Jhonnsen or as Jorge in a halo game.
people need to stop making battle royale games. they are extremely boring imo and there’s already fortnite apex and pubg and COD market is saturated af what is even the point people don’t play halo to hide in a bush for 45 minutes and maybe kill somebody they play to run and gun in vehicles and explosions and stuff.
I’ve played pubg and that is it. Never even really got into it.
Ignored the latest COD and barely played BFV. They just released their version of Battle royale and I have 0 interest in it. Now if Halo gets it, that will be a red flag in my eyes.
You could say the same thing about VR. Many games are branching out to the virtual world, and VR looks more to be the future of gaming than BR. There are games that hopped on the bandwagon of battle royal and it didn’t make a difference (i.e CS:GO). Creating a BR game mode for Halo has a chance of killing the franchise as well.
Because when Call of a Duty was hot and Halo tried implementing COD-like change that went over so well…l
A “Battle Royale” mode is something I genuinely couldn’t care less if they do or do not add. I tried Fortnite and didn’t care for it much, but if Halo took a stab at it I might at the very least give it a shot and see if their spin on the theme made any difference to me.
With that being said, I’d rather an improved Firefight and Warzone myself. Warzone KotH!
BR can be easily accomplished by the forge community, 343 doesn’t even have to worry about it nor put any effort into it. 343 will do themselves a huge favor by creating a greate forge sandbox. At most all they should do for BR is add BR specific elements into forge.
Halo doesn’t need to bandwagon, because sooner or later BR will decline in popularity, especially once something new comes along. Halo just needs to make a case for what makes(or used to make) halo great, and arena shooters for that matter.
Imo the reason why other franchises bandwagon on the BR fad is because those franchises are not doing so hot anymore (mainly because of their own faults) and yes that includes halo as well, but riding a fad is a temporary solution/distraction from their own problems that needs fixing. So I would much rather see Halo/343 go head on and face whatever troubles halo faces and try to fix them not by copying but by innovating.
Have we forgetten all the moba clones that tried to chip away the playerbase from the well establiahed mobas by simply adding a new thing here and there to the genre? And what happened is some caught steam for a while and faded away, many more didn’t see any success, and now there is a few that are clinging on to a niche playerbase and in the end the top tier moba games they tried to compete with remain on top. The same is happening with BR…
Edit: I forgot to mention that we will definitely need to have deep spartan customization because that will definately help attract BR players. Thats the only good thing I can see coming from it

i have notting against the forge community but to let then to work is something that i disagree hard with since in a battle royal map you need to chance between few month’s the map also and only chancing the buildings and make new one’s is not gone help you need to do add new map layout same time and and also on the battle royal map new things where forge has no use.
if you look at the halo 5 multiplayer maps remake’s thats something most players hate what the forge community has make a grey and black remake off some maps.
i think we need to learn a lesson from it that the forge community is not good for remaking with only forge stuff.
a BR Game most then be looking good in grafice’s like you now see in the main halo game campaign mode.

Halo has the best Spartan Customization system then i talk about Halo Reach Spartan Customization System that is the best we have see since it was start in halo 3.
sure halo 4 and halo 5 have not the best customization system but you can still learn lessons from it and keep trying what will look good and what can better next time.
thats why you can look in all the 7 halo titels and soon 8 what are the best things from all the 8 titels to make a good BR game from it to pick out the good things.
like halo reach Spartan Customization, then maybe the halo 5 trusters sprint option and power slam, a mix from halo 4 and halo reach spartan abiletie’s and keep on with it.
Strongly disagree. Halo doesn’t need a Battle Royale mode, and it’s unlikely that if it did introduce one that it would overshadow or even evenly compete with games like PUBG, Apex and Fortnite.
Halo needs to focus on reinforcing and building off of its unique strengths instead of trying to capitalize on the overnight success that Battle Royale games have attained.
Respect everyone’s opinion… but in my opinion, what they need to focus on is making sure Infinite is a good HALO game first. They need to do Halo and not try so hard to copy what everyone else is doing.
IF Infinite launches with a long, fantastic campaign AND a complete multiplayer suite with all the content that fans expect of a completed Halo game, and 343 still has time to develop a BR mode on top of that, fine.
(And on a personal note, I’ve never played Fortnite, PUBG, or Apex Legends. I tried Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode a couple times and hated it. I found it boring as crap. 20 minutes of running around for less than 30 seconds of actual combat. I just didn’t understand the appeal. That said, if others do enjoy it, I’m happy for them…)
No way I play fortnite almost every night. At release at least or even if first 2 years is a terrible idea. I grew up playing halo probably 7 years before any interest in any other games. Can’t wait for this company to make as strong comeback. Glad to see this game isn’t falling off and cant wait to be a part of making it popular again. Hope to see good multiplayer. Thought Halo 5 was enjoyable. Need something new without going over the top to change the game. They got this.

> Frankly, you don’t really know what you’re talking about. There is still a market for Arena multiplayer, as proven by the recent success of Doom. Trying to copy other, more popular franchises would only make Halo another cheap knockoff in a vertible sea of them. What 343i should be doing is evolving the series and breaking new grounds in Arena gameplay, rather than mirroring the most recent trend. Halo 4 is prime example for why that does not work.
I love how all of the people here are just validating my (and others) points, it’s a -Yoink- idea and it won’t work.
I like battle royal, but I hope to god they don’t try to follow a trend and keep it out of the game. Following trends is what ruined halo 4
I hope to dear god that Halo doesn’t have a battle royale mode. And halo isn’t held back by nostalgia. Just cause call of duty and Battlefield implemented BR modes, doesn’t mean Halo needs a battle royal to stay relevant. We could always implement new game modes that aren’t a repetitive Battle Royale mode.
While I do enjoy battle Royale, and would play it if they added it, I believe that making the feast of the game the best it can be should be 343’s top priority.
As long as they give us the tools to make a BR mode of our own it would be fine in my book.

> I don’t think games should aim to relevant they should aim to be the next best thing. They should be breaking boundaries with new concepts and ideas.
Although a BR where we get to drop as ODST would be pretty cool. I really hated warzone but all that stuff they did with weapon variety would fall right into place with a Halo BR. That being said, BR should be the last thing they do, literally the last thing, release it after the launch of the full working game and give us something truly amazing and on the scale that Halo deserves.
I appreciate the time and effort you put into these thoughts OP, but Halo doesn’t need it.
I’ve played Halo since 2001, and fully understand the integrity in keeping a game fresh… but Halo is it’s own beast. It has an established market and it needs to be that king of that market. When you consider the fall in popularity of battle royal games just over these past 2 months, putting such a mode in Halo would only serve the genre and not the game.
ewww no battle royale plz, now all seek to create battle royales in their games, instead of replacing it with a good matchmaking, a solid game without bugs or errors and excellent game modes, do not need battleroyale
Ok guys, at this point I’m almost regretting reviving this thread… But Brad Sam’s(pretty credible Microsoft insider) said that 343 will have a BR, but a Halo esq twist to it. Hence the reason 343 might’ve said they’re not doing a Battle Royale. But a massive FFA basically, I’m incredibly hyped and hopeful. And don’t hate because of the genre, because as Tetris clearly let’s us know a BR is only a massive FFA.
