> Halo doesn’t need a battle royale mode. Ugh it needs to expand on what it already has. Warzone could be improved to be more like conquest mode in other games like battlefield and sw battlefront. Halo already has a huge selection of weapons and vehicles.
>
> A battle royale mode would mark Halo for death as a franchise, it would dispaly desperation to stay releveant which it doesn’t need. It just needs improvement on what its good at. A battle royale mode would be cool but it shouldnt be a priority. Gameplay, Story, and art are what is important in Halo.

> Too many games are dropping campaigns in order to make as much money as possible from microtransactions from their multiplayer only games. Its sad to see people have lost what Halo means anymore. But i get it. Battle Royale is trendy. Perhaps a multiplayer expansion to Halo infinite will bring some other foreign game modes to the Halo scape. I’d like a halo where the armors/gear/gadgets are contextual to gameplay. Heavier armors are slower, but allow more carrying capacity and defense. Lighter armor allows quicker movement and armor abilities like jet pack or evade.
That would be really friggin cool. If warzone had more than one map to use, and depending on how well you did, depends on how many of the maps you get to experience…YAS

Has the rpg, fps, action rpg, mmo and other genres died out ? They are successful because developers keep making games players want. Battle Royale is no different and Apex Legends shows developers can innovate and grow the genre. I don’t see it dying at all. I think Halo is an ideal franchise to have a stand alone Battle Royale, I hope it happens, but I won’t lose sleep if it does not.

> No, Halo does not need Battle Royal
It doesn’t need it at all, but it would be nice to see. And NO it would not be a Fortnite look alike, Tetris Battle Royale is a BR! I mean come on, Halo won’t be copying the trend if they redefine it, if they make it different… BR JUST MEANS massive FFA!!! It doesn’t mean “Drop on to a map without a weapon, scavenge for equipment, have non-regainable health/shields, have an area of effect that damages you/ kills you that encases the map little by little.” Don’t be a hater because of the op/ topic. Listen to awesome ideas and be open to suggestions.

Like i said it “Might” be dead. Not fully saying it have have fully died but there is a element of risk when it comes to making a BR game for the next halo game that doesn’t come out for about another year or two.You can’t compare Battle Royal to FPS and RPG games as they are two different things. Lastly i did say the “Craze” basically meaning the massive hype around it. The hype for Battle Royal is slowly dying as you can tell many people have gotten bored of BR games. In my opinion the last BR game that will come out with the massive hype around it is going to be Apex legends. But like i said this is just my opinion

You can compare rpg, fps, br the way I did. They’re all genres of games that started somewhere and have grown. Also, there’s an element of risk making any game. Apex Legends had zero hype, most people I know including myself knew nothing about it until a day before it dropped and it’-Yoink!- over 25 million players already. I still think a Halo Battle Royal would succeed, hope it happens.

> Once a BR is becoming one of staple mode of a FPS game & one must keep up to date with industry standard. There is no arguing that CoD & BF is the industry standard of FPS, PUBG & Fortnite came out of no where and change the status quo, which is the reason why CoD & BF is implementing BR to their future games to keep up with the new standard. I am confident to say that all future CoD & BF games going forward will have BR mode. If Halo does not keep up to date, it will again become a game where they fail to gain significant new audience, while trying to appeal to aging Halo fanbase & those whom have irrational rejection of BR mode.
I understand what you are trying to say, but just because Halo, Cod, BF, Fortnite and PUBG are First Person Shooters doesn’t mean they are/need to be the same. Halo set itself apart because it’s an arena shooter that is highly skill based. It lost popularity with Halo 4 BECAUSE it copied COD. Halo doesn’t need a BR mode. It needs to define itself by what makes it great and different.
Although I personally think Halo could provide a fun BR experience.

You’re completely right, Halo might not NEED a BR Mode. But if 343I want to add one, then they might.
I don’t play much multi-player, so ultimately it doesn’t matter to me.
I will just say that BR is a legitimate gametype and many find it exciting, so I can certainly see it included in the multi-player portion, alongside all the other multi-player modes. It’s current popularity doesn’t diminish that, I believe.
The only thing that excites me about it, would be the interesting ‘Halo’ reason the battlefield shrinks. I can see a really cool, dangerous, massive Sentinel swarm being that reason.
Ultimately my priority is campaign, and various co-op-Firefight, etc…,non-multi-player modes.
Remember when CoD added “Custom Games” and “Theatre” and didn’t even change the name so you could see it was a blatant copy of Halo’s ideas, Remember when CoD infinite warfare added a bunch of things that looked too similar to Halo’s architecture/concepts.
Remember even further back when Halo 2 added features into its matchmaking that at the time had never been done before on consoles and companies thought it would never work, but Bungie knew it could. Then every other game followed with these features and integrations in their own matchmaking.
Halo should be setting the next trend and the next new idea, not following them. Advanced mobility follows trends, loadouts follows other games ideas, micro-transactions follows activisions and EAs predatory tactics in making money. They don’t belong in Halo. Halo was and always should continue to be a passion project from a group of people who want to make a game that they want play and love themselves but also want to make for the fans. Not to just make a quick $
I’ve been playing halo since the first one supported LAN play so I seriously do not think halo needs to stay relevant by adding the BR mode to its multiplayer offerings. Why do I say this? Look at the current playlists on the halo games. The ones most often being played are slayer type games, anyway. So what would be the point? I personally prefer team objective games myself where I either do CTF or assault. These are the only BTB modes I like anyway.
It’s already been confirmed that there will not be battle Royale, and im glad. And infinite is releasing 2020. Battle Royale is already becoming irrelevant.

Do you have a link to show that Fortnite has lost a ton of it’s player base ? Searches show no recent results, if anything it’s doing fine, and so is Battle Royale, Apex Legends launched recently and hit 25 million players in a week, and had 2 million concurrent players on it’s first weekend. Fortnite and Apex Legends are well supported games.
I think a Halo stand alone Battle Royale would do well, Apex Legends shows that Battle Royale games are not dying out. If anything there is a massive market for them with three of the top 5 most played on XBL being Battle Royale. The trend will dip, but as soon as another game comes along it will pick up. The one Battle Royale game not doing well is PUBG. It’s dropping the Xbox One most played list.
However, I don’t believe it’s failing because it’s a Battle Royale game, it’s a mess to play imo. Even on the Xbox X at times. I don’t think it’s well supported by it’s devs, and they got too greedy with overpriced add ons in a paid game imo. Fortnite and Apex Legends, are well supported and free to play. I believe there is room for a Halo Battle Royale, I hope it happens at some point.

Though I am for an innovative BR, I forgot where I saw it( I think ign) but fortnite’s revenue dropped 50% last month and personally most of my friends have quit Fortnite and the modern BRs even though we used to play them all the time. We’ve all gone back to Halo and Rocket league and Minecraft, so I can see this actually coming true, the BR trend fading away that is. I am a little sad, but I won’t lose sleep about it, and I still have my classic multiplayer games like the three above that will be around for a LONG TIME. But yeah, BR is(however slow) starting to fade away.
What they could do is have something similar to Black Ops 4 and have 2 entirely different experiences, one being your normal arena (casual and competitive) and another be battle royale (don’t tell me it wouldn’t fit the spartan training ground fantasy perfectly…).
BUT, for me ideally, Arena would have classic (or at the most - Reach) gameplay (no loadouts/sprint/etc, at the most have abilities like Reach) and Battle Royale would have Halo 5 movement, with constant sprint with no cooldown, clambering, all that jazz.
At this point BRs are as much of a gimmick as MOBAs (the same ‘argument’ was being brought up for MOBAs back when Dota was still a Warcraft 3 custom map, everyone thought it’d die off), and if you think BRs aren’t here to stay, you’re deluded.
That having been said, I’d be fine with no BR mode at all, however it’d be really sweet (especially with Reach’s customization/unlockable armor system) to be able to enjoy both types of game modes in Halo.
