BR is not a fade, it will be one of expected mode to successful FPS going forward, even Call of Duty & Battlefield are implementing their own version of BR. Fortnite, as worldwide sensation is becoming one of first FPS they played for lot of audience, not to mention PUBG. That audience will eventually look for other similar games, CoD & BF is doing just that. If Halo does not have BR, they loss the opportunity to bring part of that huge & growing audience, which will be hard to ignore. Halo has a great opportunity to bring futuristic BR mode which no AAA game currently offers.

Battle Royale mode dead ? Itās not, and anyone thinking itās dead has their head in the sand imo. Battle Royale games have hundreds of millions playing world wide. I think a Halo Battle Royale could do well, and I would like to see one at some point.

Not yet because this mode is a commrecial and temporale event
Properly, Halo sets the trend, it does not follow the trend. I would not follow whatās popular now if it wants to stay relevant and re-take itās place as a cultural icon.

> I donāt think games should aim to relevant they should aim to be the next best thing. They should be breaking boundaries with new concepts and ideas.
Agreed and while thatās fair, thereās nothing wrong with incorporating aspects that are hot and trending right now. Iād love to see Halo Infinite have a Battle Royale game mode but the entire multiplayer aspect doesnāt need to be built around B.R. Using Call of Duty Blacks Ops 4 as an example, they have the traditional multiplayer, Zombies, and Black Out which is their version of Battle Royale. Halo Infinite can do the same exact thing: Multiplayer, Firefight, and Battle Royale.
I think people are quick to jump on the āHate Trainā with Battle Royale because they instantly associate it with Fortnite and assume that itāll encompass multiplayer. Fortnite only has two aspects: Battle Royale (PvP) and Save The World (PvE). Sure, Battle Royale has different game options but thatās the entirety of multiplayer. If 343 Industries decides to include a Halo style Battle Royale, Iām can almost guarantee that itāll just be a playlist and not the entirety of the multiplayer experience.

You canāt know for sure. Any game or game mode can succeed or fail. I doubt Battle Royale will die off over the next few years. Halo having a Battle Royale is a no brainer imo. I think it would be very successful if it is done well. I live in hope.

Fail to capture enough audience? The problem youāre having with Halo is that itās staying true to itās die hard fans by not including Battle Royale. Youāre here complaining that it needs to adjust to new (I assume younger) players who have no idea where Halo started. Iām guessing most have never played combat evolved and wonāt ever do so because itās āoldā. Without Halo we wouldnāt have these AAA titles we do today. So why would 343 ever change Halo more than they already have when theyāve already gotten plenty of negative feedback on Guardians? I hated the narrative in Halo 5. There wasnāt enough Chief! Chief and Cortana are literally all I care about. Iāve never been one for multiplayer in Halo, but every once in a while Iād jump in and play a few matches. Battle Royale is a waste of time for Halo. Theyād lose more fans than theyād gain if they focused on that as opposed to the relationship between Chief and Cortana. Also Warzone wasnāt too bad I liked it when I actually got kills because holy hell was it hard to kill anything with everyone running around like maniacs trying to get every last grunt, elite, jackal etc. A more polished firefight would be a blessing. Outside of the narrative I loved firefight
If 343 wants to add battle Royale, it needs a good name, there should only be UNSC weapons and weak health like SWATs. Also, add more than one map, most battle royals modes only have one map.
> 2533274817408735;7:
> I donāt think Battle Royale is as important as you think. PUBG started losing popularity when Fornite came out, because everyone saw the difference in polish and it was still a pre-release for a long time, and is never really recovered from that. Recently, Fortniteās popularity has also slowed; I think it saw a large decrease in growth in the last two months compared to previous months. Battlefield V is wracked with controversy, despite having announced a BR mode. BlOps 4ās BR mode beta has made positive impressions thus far, but we have yet to see how the absence of a campaign mode will affect sales, or how popular the full release of the Blackout mode will be.
>
> If anything, by not having a BR mode, Halo will separate itself from the pack, something that many fans want to see, as the āCoD-ificationā of Halo in Halo 4 and Halo 5 have been some of the most common complaints. And it looks like 343 is thinking the same thing, given the statement they made about BR.
>
> Also, technically the trend started with ARMA 2 mods.
i agree, BR isnāt something halo needs imo, theres always FFA, or customs to do all of that
Battle Royale will be irrelevant by the time Halo Infinite releases. Outside of Fortnite, every Battle Royale mode is suffering, and games that used it as marketing are suffering. Battlefield 5 and Black Ops 4 both underperformed. New Battle Royale games and modes (i.e. The Culling 2, Battleborn, The Darwin Project, etc.) are outright flopping upon launch. Even Fortnite is past its peak. Thereās more reasons to avoid battle royale in Halo Infinite than to encourage it.
1- Battle Royale can already be built in Forge.
2- Battle Royale is very cost intensive to develop, hence why Black Ops 4 cut out its campaign entirely.
3- Halo was most popular when it set trends, not followed them.
4- Halo Infinite needs to be as focused of a game as possible. Adding a battle royale mode detracts from that focus.
5- (Personal Opinion) Battle Royale is one of the most boring shooter trends I have ever seen. Very few, if any, games actually do something creative with it, because doing so requires uprooting the Battle Royale formula and building it anew (a la The Darwin Project).
TL;DR- Halo should do its own thing. Halo declined when it stopped positively innovating because other shooters offered the exact same thing.
BTB, (16 or more players), no starting weapons/ pistol with one shot left. spawn can be selected (skripting). respawn disabled. weapons on map. 150% shields, 10% shield reload. set on a very big map.
Done.
now give it a playlist
( basicly one live, weapon pickup enabled swat on a warzone map)
In my opinion, Halo and Battle Royale modes are incompatible. The head hit boxes in Halo are quite big, and the sniper rifle is hit scan. In what Battle Royale mode would it be fair for me to pick up a sniper and start busting head shots on people from across the map with no bullet travel time? Sure, you could add bullet travel time and modify the hit boxes and do some other stuff to balance a Battle Royale mode, but then it wouldnāt be Halo anymore.
Assuming 343 continues to support the customs browser in Infinite, I would give it a few weeks before the community makes a fully functional BR mode in Forge. Thereās no need for 343 to put so many resources on the line for a game mode that might die out before release when the community can do just as good of a job.
> 2533274966517097;218:
> Halo needs to stay as Halo, not Fortnite or PUBG. Battlefield V is adding a battle royale mode and the reviews are not looking good.
Battlefield Vās issues precede the launch of the game. The fact they insulted their players calling them uneducated, only to add insult to injury by saying if you donāt like it donāt buy it sealed the games fate. Nothing they do at this point will be well received.
I agree that Halo does not need a Battle Royale mode to be relevant. However there are players like me that would like a Halo Battle Royale mode. Respawn are revealing Apex Legends today, a free to play Battle Royale game in the Titanfall universe.
Halo could have a similar thing. I would like that and I hope it happens at some point.
