Many find the outlines much harder to read than team armor colors, for accessibility purposes there should be no reason to not include an option to set primary armor colors for friendly & enemy teams rather than outlines. This is a must for many players myself included for the playability of the game in team-based modes. I understand they want to prioritize customization with the coatings but most people will use outlines anyways and that should not take precedence over the game being accessible to as many players as possible.
I agree, I find the outlines make the game harder to play and more disruptive in general. Teammates are partially visible through walls, grenade and weapons glow, there’s just too much information to parse when you’re trying to fight enemies. It’s like accesibility to the max, every player has auto generated callouts, there’s timers, prompts. It’s a bit much honestly.
Yeah, I have such a hard time telling friend or foe now. I’m not color blind but I’ve always had difficulty with certain colors in games. Rocket league where the sides of the map are colored to match the teams and some of those maps make it so hard for me to tell what is going on. It’s one of the reasons I don’t play CoD or Battlefield. I miss the old RvB.
I really do hope they are listening to feedback for this, this addition would make Infinite the most accessible Halo ever easily.
I agree. I catch myself shooting at my teammates because they have on blue armor and we’re on the red team. The personalization is nice but a classic Red vs Blue should also be an option.
Another solution to this would be like what rocket league does where certain shaders are allowed as presets for each team, but I do think having the option to change it would work better and still be less confusing.
I am not a fan of it myself, but I’ve adjusted for the most part.
The main issue I have is I will see a Spartan from a longer distance and they won’t have an outline.
So I turn and walk away only to get shot in the back because they were an enemy.
Can’t really fix that without breaking immersion further though, so I would prefer a “RedvsBlue” setting in Accessibility or something to help with people having issues with it. Then we could toggle it on or off.
The outlines are good, but I need to be able to set the enemy as one colour as I am colour blind and I find it hard to see the outlines at the moment and tell my teammates apart from the enemy. I’ve shot my team so many times due to this.

Not sure if it’s in this preview but this is definitely a feature they will have in future previews or at launch. It was mentioned in the E3 presentation.
That would be a good idea personal option to have classic color views for opossing team ive let bots walk past me a few times by accident
Yeah alot of people had the same problem incuding myself i hope they smooth the options out i even had some teammates turn up GREEN when i had it set up as DARK BLUE lol.
If any dev is reading this, the outlines are hell for people that cant see the colors on specific armor colors…
Yea i need colored Armour to match the teams, an aura or outline isnt doing it for me.
They also just don’t look very good IMHO. Even when they’re close and in front view enough for me to immediately tell if they’re a teammate or not, the outline and filter over the armor makes it difficult to actually see the spartan itself. They spent so much time perfecting the visuals of this game but the outlines take me out of it entirely. Like they’re AIs like Cortana or something instead of spartans.
Should all bring this option up at end of survey review considering their Webchat on Friday they’ll most likely listen!

Aren’t tickets only for bug reports? Is there a good way to submit specifically feedback?

there is an option when picking what type of bug (i think its numbered 5) that states its not for bugs but for features you like/want to see.
When the enemy outlines when off i assumed i killed the enemy but i died to a grenade and i only took their shields down
