Halo infinite needs a second delay

Personally, I disagree, the original delay was because people saw the graphics and what we were going to be stuck with and gave a firm ‘no, get back to the drawing board’. And they could do that because all of the issues we had were visual. But the problems you list here are not such, they are things we need to experience before they can be addressed by people by raising concerns.

How can people raise their concerns if they don’t get a chance to experience the problems? We can’t even delay anymore, the MP is out in what is labeled a ‘beta’ and the campaign drops in less than 33 hours. The most we can do, is voice our concerns like rational human beings.

Yeah I understand that. Just me knowing that even if this is the best campaign in the series. I will still put others above it just because friends are what do it for me. The initial playthrough is the most important.

I agree buddy. They really let us down in this regard

a second delay would be the best course of action, no doubt. infinite is not at all complete, even if you through the whole ‘it’s a beta’ excuse, it is not near complete after 6 years. bungie set the standard for halo games, and 343 ain’t anywhere near those standards, despite them having MORE TIME AND MONEY than bungie.

but like that’l happen. microsoft/343 has shown that they don’t care. they keep making convenient excuses that add up to nothing but a slap in the face and a pitty card. treat people the way you want to be treated, they say. and yet… 343 is treating the player base like wallet fillers and nothing more, and the game as a dead cash cow. so whiles i don’t agree with the threats at them… i do agree with the fact that we should just give up on halo infinite and any future games. they don’t care, so why should we? actions speak WAAAAY louder than words. look at the steam charts, it’s really showing. a up and down roaler coaster of players, that’s slowly going down in players. and yeah that’s not including xbox players… but at this point pc is kinda half the players of the game along side xbox players. so take that for what you will

honestly i personaly ain’t holding my breath. game’s gunna launch with 0 change, 343 apologists are gunna pull every excuse out of the book to justify this terrible multiplayer, whiles halo as a whole crashes and burns.
halo will, in no doubt, if this continues, turn into Call of Duty. a yearly game in which it’l get worse and worse, and only making a decent game, and be filled with transactions. 10 year live survice is a joke, it’l be dead within 3-5 years, as that’l be when the next halo game comes out

‘oh but it’s expensive to run servers for the game’ activision/treyark are still running servers for BLACK OPS 1. and even if those aren’t live servers, they’re probably peer to peer, ya could always do that with halo. custom games run fine, so surely they could do that for multiplayer?

infinite’s multiplayer is a lazy cash grab. after 50 hours, i’ve already uninstalled the game. i don’t find it to be thaaat good, nor worthwhile returning. it has potential to be the best, no doubt. but in its current state… i’ve lost hope. there shouldn’t be a ‘redemption story’ with modern games. a game should launch as a COMPLETE AND DONE PACKAGE. but i guess we’l have to wait for UPDATES THAT SHOULD’VE BEEN DONE IN THE DEV TIME for anything better in the game

wow wow you don’t have to italicize (spoken softly and reasonably) what I’m saying is other popular games have done the same it worked our it took fortnight like 3 years or something for split screen or the creative thing it is getting much harder to make games so I would rather some less game modes that are well done and new ones later once their ready

as well as if they launch now they can take feedback and they are going to improve the thing that need fixing by next year. if this a cash grab they put a lot of effort in it for that .keep in mind this is split screen which Is difficult for games to do the campaign will also be split screen. and its meant to be conversation which they are already working on. cough cough using my writing skills I learned in middle school in conclusion I don’t think they should delay because they can improve the things the fans want while letting us play. ps the micro transactions are a Microsoft thing not 343 give them a break

you can take what I’m saying with a grain of salt since I started playing halo 4 first

More than a second delay, the game needs constant improvement in graphics, modes, progression, etc. as time goes by. Simply because another delay does not ensure anything, already having something in our hands we can even demand better results as the gta community did with gta trilogy

You took the italics the wrong way. I didn’t mean any offense by it. If I were to describe the tone I try to write in, its pleading, not screaming. And also sorry about the long reply, I explain myself as much as I can. Detriment of being an English major. This is more complicated than “Game doesn’t have enough”. This deals with stuff that long-time halo fans have had, what other games now are doing and how that is treated now. I’m not going to go into the microtransactions either.

The only problem with your analogy is that Fortnite is an original property. It didn’t have a history of having a bunch of added modes.
Heck, look at the Quake remaster. No one was asking for co-op to be added. They could have done a straight port of the singleplayer and added the fully online multiplayer too. But they chose to go the extra mile and added crossplay and co-op to a game from 1996! That’s older than me! For $10! From the publisher Bethesda/Zenimax! And that is more generous than what they have done in recent years. And in the newest update they also added horde mode. Just like Fortnight those things were never mainstays. They were just cool extras they added. At no cost to me because I owned the original. I got the new one for free! I don’t play fortnight.
Its fine you started with Halo 4. I actually like that one. I made a more detailed post on my entire opinion on co-op, you can find that on your own. That goes over why I feel this way and where my frustration on co-op comes from. Again, more complicated than most believe. But here’s this as a quick history lesson:
Halo 1, had 2 player splitscreen and LAN (2 xbox’s in the same house).
Halo 2, split screen, LAN, and Xbox Live.
Halo 3 added 4 player split-screen, still had LAN and Xbox Live. And added Forge!
ODST was a smaller scale game, only had firefight but they included a second disc that included all Halo 3 multiplayer maps with the game. I didn’t have to buy the DLC, I just bought ODST and those came with it! They didn’t have to do that, but that’s cool! ODST was a side game anyway.
Halo Reach, had the same and added Firefight from ODST.
Halo 4 kept it going, but replaced firefight with Spartan Ops. I liked Spartan Ops, but replacement is replacement.
MCC still has input lag issues for non-host players. And no campaign crossplay.
Halo 5 removed split screen and LAN altogether, but made the campaign 4 player co-op! They shot themselves in the foot! You needed another Xbox and another Xbox Live account to play what is functionally a co-op game! For an xbox touted to connect to 8 controllers at once. No game used that, so why did they put that in?! Halo 5 didn’t even use 2! If it was a technical limitation to not have splitscreen, then fine! But they didn’t use LAN either! You had to be connected to Xbox Live! Mix that with the lootboxes and how bad microsoft was going at the time under Don Mattrick and his team, yeah. I can see why people saw it as greed not techincal limitations.
History lesson over.

Also, the problem isn’t having less game modes now to have new ones later. My problem is that I can’t choose the modes already in the game when we were always able to. And in games that released last month, I can still do that! And on top of that, we’re waiting on modes that came to the other halo games at launch. Sure, not everything can be there, but we should be able to make them ourselves in custom games. But custom games is missing so much, and also so broken that we can’t even do that!
I never said it was easy. They had to build a new engine, that’s nearly starting from scratch. But what I am saying is that we’re complaining about stuff that should already be there. For Halo, not any other game, we are asking for the bare minimum with the promise that new stuff will be added. But for the foreseeable future, we’re not waiting on new stuff. We are waiting on stuff that the older Halo games, or other games that came out last month provide. I don’t like how the older games are balanced. I don’t want to go back to MCC to play
team slayer or king of the hill, or CTF. But at least I can choose what I want. Most of the game modes were community made in the first place! Infection and Grifball were fan made from the custom game settings! 343 just needed to provide the tools! We don’t even have all the tools, and the ones we do have don’t work.
I don’t like Call of Duty, but I can buy that game and play Team Deathmatch or Objective modes to my heart’s content. So why didn’t Halo Infinite launch with that?!

I did say its way too late to delay now. But what I am also saying is that if they are releasing in 2 days, without Halo’s bare minimum, I would have waited 7 or 8 years.
Especially after Halo 5 made a similar mess, we expected all the times they said “we listened to your feedback” to mean, they listened to all of it. Not just the artstyle, music, and gameplay, but the post launch drip-feed of old content too! I understand why people are angry. In the vidocs, 343 pointed to all the things that went wrong with Halo 5 and said “Okay, we aren’t going to do that again.” And here they are doing it again!
So when Ske7ch comes out and said what he said, my reaction was “What did you guys expect would have happened?” Alot of it was overblown, but the writing was on the wall since the coatings were announced. Then we warned them “hey guys, gameplay is good, but this mode and XP stuff isn’t good, you guys should probably fix this” during the first flight. They didn’t listen. We told them all of this was going to happen, and here we are! And they are shocked that the community grew this toxic. Of course it did! The only answers we got were “We’ll look into it!” And Ske7ch says “we can’t press a button to fix it” Maybe not, but every other game that is out now, never needed that button. Why is Halo the weird one?

Again, I don’t mean this to be disrespectful toward you, and 343 is working their butts off right now, there is no doubt of that. Ske7ch made some valid points. Its just that the game shouldn’t be in this state at release considering what happened before. And the community shouldn’t have gotten this rabid in the first place. Yet bafflingly, here we are!

I agree with this point it is Vary annoying it is probably based on the vary strict skill based matching which they have said they are going to change

A second delay is not happening, so there is not really a point to having this thread open.
