Halo Infinite Music

Simple question:
What kind of music do we want for the Halo: Infinite score/soundtrack?

Like Halo CE. The original chanting monks.

At this point 343 needs to go back in time to revive the franchise. Change is good but change all the time isnt.

I really hope they somehow brought back Marty O’Donnell. It would be really cool if Marty and Kazuma Jinnouchi (h5 composer) worked together on the soundtrack of halo infinite a nice blend of the new and classic

Wandering music like in Halo: Combat Evolved, battle music like Halo 2 and finale music like Halo 3.

Not that I expect much but im curious to see, or rather hear if they can do something that sounds and feels like Halo without o’donnell since it hasnt worked out that well so far.

Though more important than that is making soundtrack that fits the game itself. Its really big part of the game since music sets the base of mood for player and the scene at hand so i hope they pay attention to making it.

I hope, like in the trailer, they remaster some of the soundtracks and inspire new tracks rooted from the original trilogies OST. The Halo infinite trailer was a huge success and I believe the piano at Chief’s appearance was very influential!

A halo CE and h3 mix would be amazing. Some h4 for any sad moments.

I’ve just gone back and listened to all the current Halo soundtracks. The original trilogy obviously has the music we most associate with Halo. ODST and Reach still have that same style and feel but with new themes and melodies.
After listening to the original stuff, the Reclaimer Saga stuff, the Spartan games and Halo Wars soundtracks, the closest we get to what I’d consider real Halo-y music would be the music of Halo Wars 1. It’s not quite Marty O’Donnell level, but it’s definitely the best we’ve had outside of that by far. If Stephen Rippy came back to compose Halo Infinite, I’d be satisfied, although I’d still prefer O’Donnell.

I’d like a blend of all the music from Halo: CE-5 and new music as well. Some must-haves for me are “Halo Theme,” “A Walk in the Woods,” and “Never Forget.”

I really want the ost of the first trilogy, O’Donnell themes back please.

CE inspired. I love the eerie/mystery/wonder vibes it has.

Pretty simple, bring back Marty O’Donnell. His style fits halo so good. Halo 1-3 music is incredible! ODST and Reach are good too. Halo 4-5 music isn’t terrible, has some good tracks, but to me the music just doesn’t give me that Halo feeling compared to the other games. No track really sticks out in my mind. I don’t catch myself singing or humming any of them, nothing. Unlike the pass games, which I do all the time. I have all the soundtracks and listen to them all quite frequently, even Halo 4 and 5. So it’s not like I haven’t listened to them a lot because trust me I have lol

Can you imagine the hype and that announcement if Microsoft/343I said at next year’s E3 "oh and one more thing… we’re bringing a familiar face back to the HALO Series… (Marty walks out on stage, cue this music) the place would blow up!!

I want a new soundtrack. I can listen to every Halo soundtrack and have a good feeling. Let Halo Infinite be Halo Infinite with its own identity fitting the soundtrack into the game.

I keep thinking about this topic. I absolutely love the music of the original Halo trilogy, but I don’t think I want a repeat of that. O’Donnell’s music seems to have defined what Halo music is. However, we’re in a new saga here; a new era. Halo 4 was the start of the Reclaimer Saga, which Halo: Infinite continues. Halo 4 introduced a bunch of motifs that worked really, really well. I don’t want them to be abandoned entirely in Infinite. Ideally, I’d like to see motifs from both O’Donnell’s music and the Halo 4 music used to support the Halo: Infinite story.

Well, now there is this going around Link

If this is true, for me and a bunch of my friends, this is huge new! I really, really hope it is.

Sketch and Frankie have (sorta) debunked Marty coming back to Halo. Mind you, it could all be a clever ruse so they can surprise folks, but if I were you I wouldn’t hold my breath. Kazuma’s music has been spot on so far, so I wouldn’t mind having him be the main composer for Halo: Infinite. Somebody above mentioned Stephen Rippy and his godlike HW1 soundtrack, so he would probably be my second choice. Action Figure Hands is one of the best tracks in the entire series.

Not that I don’t believe you, but where is the article or whatever that they have said this. Could you send me the link?

Unless I hear something, I’m definitely not ruling out him being back. I just feel like the last two Halo games haven’t really gotten that Halo feeling back yet music wise in opinion. The music is pretty good and I definitely like some tracks, but it doesn’t sound like Halo really to me, or many people i know, unfortunately :frowning:

I think on reddit either that or some other forum

As much as I absolutely love almost all of the soundtracks 343 has put out there, a lot of them don’t exactly give me the Halo vibe. There is a method, a melody, to creating Halo soundtracks. This melody may be a necessity for Halo’s soundtracks, but it does not limit its possibilities. There is always room to evolve depending on the situation while also sticking to your roots, and I think these 343 soundtracks have done just that.

Halo 4

  • To Galaxy - 117 - Lasky’s ThemeHalo 4: Forward Unto Dawn

  • AxiosHalo 5: Guardians

  • Halo Canticles - Rock and Ice - Argent moon - Scavengers - In Absentia - The Trials - End Game - Reunion - Blue TeamHalo Wars 2

  • Recommisioned - The Banishing - It’s Done - Bon Voyage Bon Chance - Steel Hand Gloves Off - Catastrophic Failure - CrateredHalo: Nightfall

  • Trailer Music (Also Used in Prologue of H2A)

I actually strongly dislike The Trials. It absolutely butchers a classic in my opinion. If the original had sounded like The Trials version then no one would have remembered it. To Galaxy and 117 are great though. No Green and Blue?

I had considered Green and Blue, as I do love it, but I didn’t find that it really gave me the Halo vibe. Good recommendation though.
