Halo infinite multiplayer

So with the recent halo infinite videos being released, what concerns (if any) do you have?
Also, what released info are you most excited about so far?

Not many concerns. Hopefully later down the line they might add elites to the game for those who’d rather play as something other than a Spartan. But I’m looking forward to Forge and customization. Especially the personal AI that just sounds like a wicked idea.

2 things, I’m concerned about the lack of blood I’m seeing. The game play looks very cartoony without it, I want to shoot devastating weapons, not nerf guns…

And I’m also concerned that the gravity hammer doesn’t seem to have any gravity effect. Looked like that guy just got clubbed with a large hammer. I really want the hammer to be fun like Halo 3’s hammer. I want it to send everything and everyone flying across the map.

The thing I’m most excited about is the fact that the entire presentation was so good it has restored my faith. And anybody complaining about the graphics sounds like an idiot, the graphics are gorgeous.

There’s gonna be BOTS! YES!

I think the lack of blood might be toggled off for trailer display- not necessarily a bad takeaway though. Halo is trying to spread its reach as seen w/ the new addition of PC Halo games and now a direct launch on PC of a new title. Blood is a T rating categorization but even without blood it’s not like they’re going to get an E 10+ rating because Halo is a violent game. But for trailer purposes, blood may not be shown but could very well still be a part of the game, toggled off or on by default, as a lot of games allows this option nowadays.

As for the gravity hammer not affecting bodies as you want, I think it’s more of their game design with the new equipment. Grapple hook allows you to grapple a weapon to you, but you can’t do that if the weapon got sent 40+ feet because of your hammer that just ran out of charge. While rag-dolling the body might make sense to leave in, there is a much bigger emphasis on sort of ‘looting’ enemies for their weapon/power ups so the gravity hammer may not affect those items the way you want. But the new Multiplayer Overview video did have the grav hammer decimate the shopping area around the enemy, just not the enemy and their equipment themselves.

I’m excited for that grappling hook. Grabbing enemies, vehicles, slinging across big rooms, grabbing items from afar. Seems like a game changer.

I just hope they keep Super Fiesta and Big Team Super Fiesta.

I have to say I’m not a fan of this. Things like Griff Ball or having the hammer as an exploring option isn’t much fun without the hammers dealing crazy splash damage. It’s not like the hammer is a common weapon, some maps and game types wont have any hammers, so why make the hammer less fun? Halo is a fast paced respawning shooter, there doesn’t need to be any emphasis on looting bodies because you’re proabably going to die within the next minute or 2. I’ve also never heard of anyone complaining about their own use of the Halo 3 hammer. If you really wanted the weapon that flew across the map, thats now your objective to go and get it, or just swap to your secondary to get the kill if you need the loot. Grenades are more common, if we apply your logic then grenades shouldn’t have any splash physics either just a death animation?

At the end of today there could be a dozen reasons as to why the hammer doesn’t have that insane effect you desire: the current game build is focusing on how grappling weapons work so they just stick to the point of death, maybe it was already decided that they will stay that way, maybe the hammer is more common in certain modes and they had to down-tune it, maybe these physics were designed without griff ball in mind, maybe griff ball has a different set of weapon/equipment physics to allow the full effect you want.

It really just comes down to the part you’re picking at them for is such a niche concern at this state but a very legitimate takeaway from the video. The truth is it will only be talked about or revealed as time goes on and we see more of the full build come to life to see how their physics reacts in this small instance.
