Halo infinite multiplayer - matchmaking?

I’ve tried playing Halo Infinite Multiplayer, and as a not-so-skilled, 50 year old man (reflexes ain’t what they used to be) it seems there’s no place for the noobs or less skilled/slower reaction time players. I believe I heard the algorithm tries to match players by skill level, but it seems it only considers the most skilled player on the team. So if I try playing with anyone I know, who due to age difference and other factors are all more skilled than me, I end up getting absolutely destroyed by the other team who all seem to be elite or even professional gamers. Any way you can create an area for people who don’t feel like just contributing to the other team’s score and then rage quitting forever?

Have you tried Big Team Battle? You definitely get a bit more time and freedom to think about what you are doing.

I mean, I have tried big team, and that is a little better, sometimes. I don’t always want to restrict my gaming friends to have to play in big team though. Is there any chance of patching the algorithm to try to match a team of mixed-skill players with another team of mixed-skill players? Or maybe just take all players’ skill levels into consideration?

That’s usually what the system does albeit more loosely than ranked so your team should be somewhat similar to the opponents although sometimes team will be better and sometimes worse.

However, that can also be challenging to strike a balance in 4v4 as usually means it’s too easy for the good players and too hard for the bad players. When I played Fiesta with my one friend who isn’t very good, he was struggling to kill anyone and I was killing them with no effort.

  1. See if tv has game mode
  2. Try playing on computer monitor
  3. Play while wide awake, call it quits when tired
  4. How many matches have you played, it might take more matches for your skill level to adjust to people you should be playing with.
