Halo Infinite Multiplayer: Last Spartan Standing Makes Me Very Angry

Wrong ranged weapons can compete with it the bulldog is a close range weapon literally the only times i ever died to the bulldog is in fiesta when i didn’t get a decent weapon to combat someone using it or if i got caught by surprise

You can easily counter it

They can only compete with it at long range, which is a moot point when the game literally closes the fighting space into smaller and smaller zones.

Get camo, get bulldog, win game

Clearly 8 shots from the disruptor don’t do it if there are 8 bolts sticking out of another Spartans helmet!

Saying someone isn’t good at the game is a cop out, the weapon balance is all wrong and messed up!

I destroy people with the disruptor, you just have to strafe and hit your shots. Also it has bonus headshot damage that most people overlook.

Just because its great in one mode that eventually forces everyone to be at close range doesn’t make it overpowered also having a bulldog along with overshield/active camo needed to win shows how easily countered it is without it

This thread is literally just discussing last spartan standing

The one mode you think doesn’t matter is the only thing we’re talking about here

The last LSS match I played I shot a Spartan 8 times IN THE HEAD and I was the one who died while reloading! Extra head shot damage my backside…

Well

  1. The bonus headshot damage only kicks in when they have no shields

  2. You must just be missing because the weapon damage is pretty easy to test and prove

  3. If you don’t trust the disruptor just use the Sidekick

  1. Dysync happened and some of the shots didn’t register properly

Exactly, I have a similar thing happen in the video I posted, basically most of my shots were hitting the cover I was standing close to instead of hitting the enemy. Halo has had that same problem for decades though

You’re joking. Those are both great weapons.

S’like a shotgun is powerful at shotgun range or smth.

Nope. It’s always been a 2-3 shot kill. 4 at suboptimal range. It’s also always had longer range than any other shotgun in the series. It also has a tighter cone than any other shotgun in the series.

It’s strictly superior and the pump was oppressive on the sword, you never had a reason to have a sword if you had a shotty. It’s also not a counter to the sword on any sanely balanced map, because then there’s effectively a sword and a better sword. Gods help the team that does not get both.

Yes. That’s how shotguns work.

You literally think the sidekick is a throwaway weapon - you aren’t good.

If they were not throw away weapons you’d have to get more than ONE kill to get rid of it!

That’s bad gametype design, not bad weapon design. You could very easily win the entire game with just the sidekick if you were halfway decent with it because it’s so versatile.

Y’all are missing the point though, it completely flips the table on any competitive balance in last spartan standing. It should be much harder to obtain at the very least

My sibling on the sacred ring just keep open and long sightlines.

If you want I can show you one on one just how nasty that little sidearm is, but you probably already know.

Yeah! It’s awesome. Definitely my favorite pistol of the entire series!!

I’m just hoping my weekly decks don’t contain very many LSS challenges going forward. I’ve had some fun with this mode during the Interference event over the last two weeks but I absolutely think it can reward some playstyles that I don’t appreciate.

In many, many of the matches I’ve seen, the player who demonstrably “played the best” (most kills) didn’t win. Occasionally they do, but a lot of times they’ve played too aggressively and expended their lives pool far more quickly than many of the other players. Their better loadouts (even with the Bulldog) often aren’t enough to even the odds of an Active Camo back smack or an Overshield spammed by an opponent right before a firefight. It seems like the best consistent strat to win an LSS match is to conscientiously balance the need to have powerups in your pocket with the reality that moving around is a liability (someone is likely waiting to get the drop on you, somewhere). Hence, I’ve seen a lot of “grab powerup, retreat to choice location”.

That strategy’s more reliable than simply trying to max out your loadout as quickly as possible, as far as I can tell. The three matches I’ve won playing how I think is sporting have been exhilarating and tons of fun, and I’ve had a handful of other matches where I’ve lost with only a few players remaining but feel like the player who eliminated me honestly earned it. More often, I’ve been at 10-15 kills and eliminated from the last small handful of players by someone with 3-7 who had a powerup in their pocket and more lives left.

The advertised tweaks don’t do a lot to entice me into giving the mode another shot, either. I’m glad the mode is available for those who enjoy it and hope the tweaks improve it, but it’s just not fun enough often enough and is too frustrating for me. Gungame was always a questionable thing to try and adapt into Halo anyways.

Anyone that thinks just staying out of range is the solution is not playing last spartan standing apparently. The people winning matches over and over admit that the bulldog shouldn’t be so easy to obtain because it’s the strongest weapon in the entire LSS sandbox.

There’s no reason to use anything else once you have it, unless you get it early enough To fight cross map with the commando or BR Instead. But why do that when you can stack OS and Camo and just walk up to people over and over?

People are willfully missing the point. It’s a power weapon in normal modes for a reason

Two issues I really have with in LSS are the Spawns, and the unbalanced player skill levels.

The Spawns are really predictable now, making it frustrating to even try to play. There are times that when I died and then respawned, I respawn in front of another player and die right away. A lot of the time I don’t even see the player when I die. The worst one though was when I got killed by another player and then respawned 3 times near the same player and got killed by them.

A solution: maybe instead of respawning right after the ten second cool down, players are held off from respawning till the spawn area is cleared of other players. Just an idea, but not sure how practical that’ll be.

My other issue with the game is how unbalanced the players’ skills are in the matches. I jump into an LSS match, and I get knocked out right away in the first 2 minutes. This happened to me in 9 matches. I’ve also seen other players losing in the first minute. I’m a mediocre player since I only play the game twice a week just for fun. I would like to play LSS matches with other players at my skill level to actually keep it fun and competitive. Instead, I get frustrated and upset losing to far better players.

I’ve only had a few good matches in LSS, placing between 2nd and 5th. However, that’s only because I hide after getting knocked down to 2 lives, and waiting for other players to kill each other. It’s really not satisfying placing 2nd when I only got 3 kills.

I might just be a sore loser, and those matches might’ve been a one time thing. Still, I would at least like a fighting chance.

This is the thing currently ruining the mode. I have no problem navigating through the various weaponry. It’s just the damn powerups spawning too damn often.

Watched my gf play this for the first time, first match was an L and second match was a rage quit lmfao. I think this mode just does that (Especially when you first start playing it) haha
