Halo Infinite multiplayer is not safe for players

Halo Infinite multiplayer is not safe for players. I have been playing since November 15 and in these 45 days I have generated an addiction that already has to be treated. I’ve never happened in my life. And I’m worried because other games like Fortnite, Warzone, and others have similar progression systems.

Microsoft, 343 industries and other companies involved must take care of their users, otherwise the Xbox, Microsoft and Halo brand can be seriously harmed by scandals such as those of Facebook.

Best thing you can do is delete the game by the sounds of it

they design these games to steal your time from you, thats like getting mad at McDonalds for your diabetes

Sounds like a you problem lol. Their lack of an actual progression system and drastically limiting xp gain for the battle pass past 5 games alone gets me off the game.

Either find something else to play or just take a break from video games. Sounds unhealthy

Is this serious? I can’t even find reasons to play the game for more than an hour at most. There’s nothing there to keep me playing honestly.

I’m actually quite interested tho. What’s your longest stretch of time playing? How many kills you reckon you have?

I can understand the argument for gambling addictions and loot boxes. I was briefly addicted to CSGO’s loot boxes and 3rd party betting services. Thankfully came out on top and paid a few months rent with the earning.

I can understand the psychological mechanics of FOMO.

I totally understand the allure of weekly driven grinds in games like Destiny and human draw towards repetition. Even how that might tie into Infinite’s weekly challenge system.

What I can’t wrap my head around is a dangerous addiction to a “strict beginning to strict end” progression system. Addiction relies on repetition, it’s kind of difficulty to apply that to something that has an overt end.

That sounds like a threat more than a concern.

Playing a game is a personal choice, Regardless of what the PR is games are not made fore everyone and if you feel it impacts you in real life you should move onto something else.

Lmfaoooo. Gotta be a joke.

If this isn’t inb4 troll.

Speak with friends or family about that. If that’s a no can do, find someone online that shares your problem or if you feel strongly affected think about speaking to a professional for some appointments.

All the best.

But yeah, it’s all the same. Social media, gamification they want you to spend your absolute maximum of time with it, so the probability increases you spend money.

Gears of War 5 spoiled us bro :pensive:

You spend months, years complaining about a game, then you get burned out and move into another game that has it even worse. Sad times man.

Also I’d probably play a lot more, if it wasn’t a bareboned framework of a game and the only mode I like (BTB) would work.

So, uhh, thanks 343(?)

Please seek out some professional help if you’re serious. While someone on this forum may have the license and experience to, that would be illegal and unethical over the internet. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.

Fortunately, I’m already dealing with a professional and have taken action.

I just wanted to comment that the game is meant to be unhealthy. For example, weekly challenges, exclusive items, rewards the battle pass, and how you receive the rewards of it create addiction. I hope companies will take that into account. Because tobacco, gambling, drugs or alcohol are heavily regulated or prohibited.

Thank you.

people saying to just stop are ignoring the problem. many games, including infinite, are designed to get people addicted. it may not affect the majority, but it affects enough people so they can keep pushing more and more predatory MTXs.
on top of that, the released games aren’t finished and are only released with the promise of it being finished later, which may or may not happen at all.
that people are saying halo feels like a finished game compared to the rest, should be a flashing warning signal, bc many core features are still missing (core gamemodes and you can’t even complete 100% achievements yet)
the game (especially challenges and battlepass) is not designed to be fun. it’s designed to be addicting and with quick rewards to create the addiction. that the gameplay isn’t bad is just a side product.

Welcome to Halo - you have made a great start to conquering your addiction by announcing it as a problem.

But first let’s get this straight. This game does not get people addicted by monetisation or progression systems. They are awful.

It’s all about the magical halo dance and the four shot rhythms that you play out to the tune of the pied piper aka Alex Seropian and Jason Jones.

If this is bait, this is bad bait.

The game is so broken that it’s not even funny.

Well, you can no life it pretty good. I had almost a thousand matches, yeah some bot games, when I was BP level 100.

But I had no work keeping me from doing so at the time and now that BTB isn’t working and I’ve played the same 3 maps hundreds of times with not too much content I am good.

Didn’t even play daily to get peppermint skins or whatever it was. I’ll stop playing until 343 starts moving again.

Nice troll post! Imagine this being real.

I feel quite the opposite. I find myself not wanting to play really. The progression system is terrible honestly. MCC has a far superior xp system. I am working my way through this system and today I unlocked level 64 helljumper visor… Some what excited I go to equip it and then realize it’s for a helmet I don’t even have yet… Really? As you “progress” you get stuff you can’t even use? This progression system is slow and very unrewarding. Worse sometimes you have to play modes you don’t even like if you want xp, I hate swat aka tactical Slayer but had to play it for the double kill challenge. I rarely can play my favorite mode of FFA as there isn’t many challenges that come up that I can go for. I play a couple of games and then I am done. I play more MCC and other games that Infinite.
