Halo Infinite MP deserves to suffer like Battlefront 2

I’ll be clear on this topic, Halo Infinite MP deserves to suffer the same punishment and initial failure that SW Battlefront 2 suffered when it was released. This is not a topic to provide feedback, I already did it in another topic. This is a topic to speak clearly about how the Halo community has been DECEIVED and taken for stupid.

Do you remember the release of BF 2? How the loot box system was received in the most brutally opposed way by the community? The controversy was such that the media echoed it.

Halo Infinite is the Halo we deserve after so long, a promising campaign and the best Halo multiplayer I have played in years, it is the definitive Halo, it is almost perfect. It’s almost perfect because for some reason someone decided to screw it all up with a depraved and totally anti-consumer monetization system that tarnishes and dirties the good work they have been doing for the past few years to bring us the best Halo to date.

I don’t know whose fault it will be but I don’t care, they don’t fool anyone. These problems that the community have seen in less than a week 343i knew for years, it is not necessary to do a market study, or put it to the test, with a little intelligence anyone would have realized that all this is a mistake that would only cause discomfort in the community.

It was notified in advance, those of us who were in the technical tests gave the notice. “People of 343i this system is deficient and needs to be changed completely”. They had time to make some minor changes to leave a good foundation with which they could have time to apply the bigger changes, and they ignored us.

In view of the situation, I no longer want to give my hand, now I want to demand as a consumer that I be treated fairly or I will put aside your product and take my money, because it is the only thing that matters.

Halo Infinite MP deserves to suffer the same punishment that BF 2 suffered, for the good of the game and for the good of the community. Because I refuse to be deceived by giving us false solutions. I want real solutions and I want them now, in a statement, they have been given a lot of time and patience and they have not done anything.

And if they think that we are going to settle for little, they are wrong, they have created the problem unnecessarily themselves, nobody has forced them to reach this situation. On reddit and in this forum we have given a thousand ways to make the monetization system beneficial for both parties, there are no excuses.

It’s okay to be upset with the way the paid content is being forced down our throats, but it’s not okay to say Infinite deserves to fail.

Halo Infinite does so many things right from a gameplay point of view, and if you care only about gameplay, Halo Infinite is a wet dream.

Alot of us are hoping 343 does us a better progression system, but holy -Yoink!- you gotta be some next level entitled to denounce Halo in such a fashion.

I am not stating that Halo Infinite deserves to fail, I am stating that Halo Infinite deserves to suffer the same initial controversy that BF 2 suffered. Sorry my English is not native and I can confuse some expressions.

I can’t tell if this is a troll or not battlefront 2 was pay to win after you bought the game?

Halo is free and it’s a battlepass for cosmetics how is this anything like battlefront 2

Being a free is not a good excuse for any of this

Are you defending this anti-consumer monetization system just because it’s F2P?

What makes it worse is that there are other examples in FTP titles that prove you CAN monetise while providing a decent basis for player expression, Warframe being the prime example with the colour pallet system.

it seems pretty ridiculous to equate a cosmetic MTX system that’s more lenient than the competition with its perpetual BPs that you can always purchase and access… to a game that at launch was quite literally pay to win and the method of gaining competitive advantage was gambling loot boxes; something Halo Infinite doesn’t even have for cosmetics.

Like I understand the frustration with paid cosmetic MTX but it’s worth recognizing that the cost of a perpetually and continuously updated game is MTX, and it’s a reality that’s really hard to get around. As a tangent; I would personally prefer this system over the old formula of selling maps in bundles, fundamentally splitting the playerbase and accelerating the death of the playerbase as a whole. And that formula on its own proved to not be long-lasting or sustainable since time between releases was relatively long and there are only so many maps you can make before the map pool and file size is utterly bloated.

like yeah it would be amazing if everything was free but we live in a garbage capitalist society with garbage capitalist profit incentives, and at minimum something has to pay for server upkeep.

The point is that I support and understand the need for a monetization system, I myself have been among the first to buy the battle pass. I support that being an F2P you must have a monetization system that provides benefits and also gives us the opportunity for more content in the future.

But the current system is wrong, it is abusive and in the long run dooms the game to lose players. It does not push people to play, or to invest money, it is more like putting chains on our legs when walking.

They need a public lesson to make sure they are going to do things right, I trusted them, I gave them the opportunity to show that they were listening to us, but they haven’t. The only way I see that whoever is leading this is going to pay attention to us is that they suffer the same media controversy that BF 2 suffered, I am not comparing both games and saying that they are the same, but that they deserve to have the same. impact so that things change for the better for everyone.

Even more so, having very good examples of monetization in other games such as Warframe or Gears 5 with its system of challenges that give coins from the store. .

the armour coating system created the impression it would be like Destiny’s at a glance, a universal colouring system of sorts with preset colours you can use freely between cores.

this is just worse.

Yup, and the only people to blame will be 343. There’s no way they couldn’t have seen this coming.

Friendly reminder that the playerbase dropped by 25% in under a week, with no weekend boost of players. Halo Infinite isn’t even in the top 20 most played games on steam at the time of writing.

However the first HLC tournament has had 125k viewers. The worst thing is that there is this interest in Halo Infinite and especially the hype for playing it, we are at an absolutely critical moment where if 343i is not careful he will end up screwing up.

It’s not. The dramatics around here are insane.

Did… did you just say Gears 5 had a good monetization system?

I think you just invalidated your own argument.

Gears 5 has a good challenge system that allows you to get coins from the store, among other things. This is a good idea that could be implemented in Halo Infinite.

Watch out, you are criticising 343, they are gone lock this sub like they seem to do every other one that does that…

I will never question the decisions made by moderation, if they consider that this issue should be closed, so be it.
