I know we all thought of this already. But remember back in the first Halo 5 Teaser Trailer? I just wanted to bring it up again. I remember back then the trailer was getting a lot of hate because Chief was wearing a cloak… I guess now its easy to assume he is on the Halo ring and the cloak could be to hide his armor being scanned by Cortana to find him…or something.

Or did you notice that the Guardian in that teaser (Iʻm sure everyone noticed) that its not blue like all the other Guardians in Halo 5 but yellow. In Halo 4, that would usually simply mean that its controlled by someone and changes its secondary color depending on a specific other controller. Could this mean that a secret enemy could come back or rise… or that Master Chief controls his own Guardian? Its also a different design. So, many this guardian is like… a safety protocol Guardian in case the other guardians are being abused by someone else? It could be, they did have Sentinels for that like the big one in Halo Wars 2.

Master Chief concluding also has his 343i helmet design. That could be because they didnʻt think about changing the design back then. Could be that the helmet is still broken, so, it has to be after Halo 5 since Locke broke it. Bet everyone thought of this already.

Concluding, I would assume that Chief looking at Cortanaʻs chip back then would mean that he is going to avenge Cortanaʻs death. Though now he realizes she is alive and rebellious on Chief, his grasp with holding the chip could mean that he finally realizes that Cortana is too far gone and he now knows what he has to do… which would be to beat her.

The cloak was an idea which is shown frequently as an early concept design for Halo 5, the same can be said of the different looking Guardian.
I think the purpose of the trailer was to convey the general intended gist of Halo 5 at the time rather than being a piece of foreshadowing that might even be releasing 7 years later.
Dont get me wrong, it’s a cool idea OP and I love the speculation but it just feels like a bit of a stretch considering the age of the trailer.

It was nothing else but a simple announcement-trailer for Halo coming to Xbox One.
It is, storywise, fully unrelated to any games & officialy confirmed to be non-canon.

The original teaser for Guardians was probably meant for a completely different storyline than the one we got. While these teasers never are depicted in the game completely correctly they usually hint at what is to come, however due to Guardians rocky development I highly doubt that anything from those early days have a bearing on the current story. 343 has left bigger things hanging for years now with little information or completely ended them (see the Ur Didact end in Escalation or Chakas/343 Guilty Spark’s hijacking of the Rubicon to find where Chant to Green the New Lifeshaper and Bornstellar the Iso Didact went Forerunners) so I have little hope for them to tie things together.
