Halo Infinite M-rated

Hi Guys!
recently it came to my mind the possibility that Halo Infinite would M-rated, as we known the most part of the Halo Franchise has been rated R, from Halo 1 to Halo 4 (and Reach), but this change in Halo 5: Guardians with a game PG-13 , no lenguage, no blood and I think about the scene of the blood in the Halo Franchise is important because the type of weapon’s we know, so,
I always thought of a version where the plasma shots we could see them, some impacts and dirty this was slightly reflected in Reach with the tear of the armor in the campaign, I would like to return to Halo Infinite, what do you think?

Would you like Halo Infinite to be M-rated?

I would like Halo games to be accessible for and enjoyed by as many people as possible, if that means it doesn’t have a few swear words in it then I’m cool with that.

I want 343i to make the game they want to make and let the ESRB handle rating it. Cutting potential content like the Flood to be T would be a mistake, but at the same time they shouldn’t aim for M either.

Aiming for a certain rating doesn’t make much sense to me. But, the game should reflect the material properly. So, there should be blood and, if the Flood are part of the plot, they should be gross. If not, it’s going to once again feel like Nerf got into the market of animated toys. Additionally, dialog should flow naturally like it did in the older games as opposed to how unnatural it feels in H5. No need to shoehorn F-bombs in every line like it’s The Departed, but cursing (among other day-to-day conversation material) is something most people naturally do every day and especially so with their close ones. As such, censoring it is illogical. Halo hasn’t had much sexual and drug content and I’m fairly certain strip clubs and weed shops weren’t high on the list of engineering projects for the Forerunners, so no contribution on that front.

I mentioned only the things above since those are major factors in determining a rating. If all that amounts to a T rating, great. If it amounts to an M rating, that’s great too. In the end, it should be a good game where everything fits well in the universe and the popularity will come from that regardless of the rating. That’s ultimately the ESRB’s decision and it should ideally not affect the work 343i does.

Halo: Reach approached this topic the best out of the other games imo, there was enough gritty, mature content to remind you that this was a war without it being GOW in disguise.

Halo 4 & 5 feel look and feel quite ‘clean’ in comparison.

I can live without swears as they’re unnecessary for Halo imo. However blood needs to return the Halo 1 levels. Halo 4 and 5 only have pin drops it looks like a nerf battle occurred rather than an actual firefight. Often times the amount of blood is so small the body will cover it up anyway. You have to unload a full assault rifle mag or two into the body to make it look decent.

Gibs on the other hand should remain exclusive to the Flood. Lots of gibs is more of a DOOM thing.

I don’t mind the changing to a T rating for Halo 5, but I do miss the absurd amounts of blood from Halo: CE. I would like that to come back, and since it was 18 years ago (now) the ESRB might allow the T rating with all the blue and green blood one could want. It’s a weird thing to miss, I know. lol

heres the thing halo itself isnt m-rated the bungie games and h4 were m rated for somthings (the composer scne in h4 is a dead good reason for m rating and well the flood in h1-3) so no i dont think h: infinite should be m-rated

yep and the blood of the covnant can still fit in to the t-rating as their blood is bright colored like blue and pruple or orange

the composer scene nuff said

I would like to play with my boy, so would prefer to keep it PG and avoid swearing or too much gore. Just my opinion, the Halo 5 assassinations are the max I think it should go to. People can go to other games for R rated, Halo does not have to enter that market.

Swearing shouldn’t be a problem in multiplayer since our spartans mostly say call outs (I believe you can turn it off in settings) and the campaigns usually don’t have a lot of strong language. The assassinations aren’t that brutal imo but I see where you’re coming from.

I would like it to be rated M and have detailed realistic gore.

There should at least be more fear, something like Alien movies.

I would prefer Halo to be M, R or 18+ depending on where you are in the world. I play Gears with my son, Gears allows you to turn off graphic violence and bad language, many 18+ rated games have that option, including Warframe, another title he plays. Halo blood and gore has been reduced, I would like more of it with the option to lower or turn off for younger players, wanting to play with my son is not a reason to ruin Halo even more by lowering it to a PG. Options are available.

Halo a 16 is fine, I wouldn’t want it an 18 cuz some parents may not allow their kids to play it. I do like the part where we see blood when we kill the covanent. In halo 5, we don’t see that.

Didn’t stop the majority of this fanbase from playing the older Halo games when they were Rated M.

This is the fanbase who prides themselves on playing Halo as a kid in 2001/2004/2007.

I agree I think blood and Gore should return and halo never had lots of swear words anyway.

Get this soft sauce outta here.

The original trilogy was M and even Halo 4 (the last best Halo story). I don’t wan’t a soft story give me the flood!!!

To me it’s not a big deal. Granted those quirky one liners marines would give now and then helped gave it a Halo feel. But honestly I’ve given up on 343’s versions of the games and I’m just going to wait for the books to come out for me to care. So as long as arena is good, then they could make it T for teens for all I care.
