Halo Infinite Lying About Resource Usage?

About two weeks ago was the last time I had launched Halo Infinite until today. I had some issues while trying to stream campaign, but once I stopped streaming I ran into very few issues. Today at the loading screen it maxed out my R7 3800XT on all cores, and even after stepping down the graphics to medium, I’m only getting ~~5-10 fps in the campaign. I have a 2070 super, and I found that the issue is that Halo says it’s only using 5gb of VRAM, it’s actually maxing out my 8gb of VRAM. This seems to be an optimization bug, but means I can’t play the game until this is fixed.

Please can someone take a look at this?

Pretty sure everybody agrees that this game is horribly optimized, when even the best gaming computers out there have to run it at medium settings, and still lag and crash, with maybe chugging around 100fps. The most optimized thing in this game is the store. I use Killer Control Center to optimize my network and cpu, but you would think I have 30 instances of Chrome open running Infinite on a $200 Windows XP Dell Laptop. It’s pathetic. One of my friends is super annoyed because he built a new expensive custom rig and Infinite still chugs on it. I don’t think 343 themselves can even run the game at full settings. It’s the new Crysis challenge.

To fix fps, try forcing 60 minimum. It’ll ruin the graphics quality a bit, but it will stay above 60 fps. I have vsync disabled and maximum unlimited.

I’m surprised that the community is complaining so much about cosmetic challenges and not the inability to play the actual game. But I guess I’m just a boomer for liking campaigns lol. I do have my minimums set at 55, but there’s not a chance in hell that the game is even trying to get there.
