Halo Infinite Low FPS

I’ve played a few matches of Halo Infinite now but my FPS anywhere from 24-30 no matter Low or Ultra settings and that shouldn’t be the case. My GPU is an RTX 2070 Super and my CPU is a Ryzen 5 2600 with 16GB RAM. Any solutions as to why it’s running this poorly? (I’ve turned vsync off)

Personally my Pending screen is running at 120fps.
it looks like FPS issues are common though at the moment, even powerhouse PCs aren’t performing properly. It’s an issue with the game rather than your settings.

There’s min/max frame rate settings

Same here, settings make virtually no difference for me. I’m running a 2080, Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB of RAM, and I have played in both borderless 3440x1440, and windowed 2560x1440, with 30-45fps regardless of settings. G-sync isn’t making it feel that much better either. I wasn’t expecting a flawless 60fps on ultra or anything for this build of course, but was hoping it ran a bit better than it currently does, since smoother gameplay means less time focusing on rough performance and more time focusing on actual bugs and gameplay feedback.

Got a GTX 1070 with 16 GB of RAM. Game runs at 1-20 FPS for me so I haven’t been able to play at all. Already tried reinstalling it too.

Same issue here. Nothing I do will get me above 30fps. I didn’t expect the optimization to be great in a preview, but it’s so bad I can’t really play. The input lag is crazy.
Specs:

  • Radeon RX 580 on driver 21.7.2 - Ryzen 5 2600 - 16GB DDR4Even running single monitor and downscaling to 1360x768 made no difference. All low settings. Min/max FPS set to 60. Tried vsync off/on.

i have the exact same specs as you and i have the exact same issue though i do get slightly higher FPS and im using the latest drivers

Did anyone ever get any solve for this issue? I too have a pc with good specs, that is optimized for gaming, and am only getting 30 fps.

It just isn’t optimized well. I have been watching my GPU usage, and it sits around 50% which results in lower than desirable FPS. I have an RTX 3090 playing at 1440p and with all settings as low as they can go I get about 80 FPS. On ultra it hovers around 60. If my GPU was being fully utilized those numbers would be well over 100. Honestly I would say any GPU less than RTX 3070 or Radeon 6800 should stick to 1080p for the tech preview. Anything GTX 1060 class or lower likely won’t be able to get playable framerates.

The reason this is happening is because there is no fullscreen, only windowed borderless. While obviously, you should still be getting higher frames despite that, having fullscreen would definitely make it run a lot better. Thankfully this is flighting and they’re going to optimize the game more, according to level cap optimization is one of the last things devs do, whether that’s true or not I don’t know, but hopefully they add full screen and also optimize the game.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that borderless window is causing any of the FPS issues. I play most games in borderless window, and there has never been a game I’ve played where the FPS changed compared to full screen. Full screen is mostly a relic from the days before borderless window was an option. There is still the occasional bug that occurs with borderless window in some games, but I’ve never seen an FPS reduction from it.

While playing what is your cpu usage at in task manager? Maybe its already at 100% usage so lowering graphics settings won’t help cause the CPU is holding your GPU back creating a bottleneck.

Everyone with frame issues the download was only small meaning 0 room for optimization meaning bad frames also why at max settings the game looks bad still final release will be fine
