Halo Infinite: Least Fun Social Experience of any Halo?

The game is overall garbage this whole playlist stuff is garbage forcing people to play what they don’t want to “MaInTaIn A hEaLtHy PlAyErBaSe”

I like playing BR swat in infinite but with all of these other (commando swat, mangler swat, stalker swat and sidekick swat) It ruins it. I have to go through like 100 commando swats, 50 mangler swats, 30 stalker swats and 10 sidekick swats to just get 1 BR swat and when I do get it its on the 2 worst maps in the games Behemoth and Launchsite so I just leave because there’s no point to play the spawn points are terrible. They need to make each of these their own separate playlist.

But then we’ll get the typical “ThErE’s No OnE pLaYiNg My FaVoRiTe GaMeMoDe” well there’s a reason why a lot more people prefer to play certain gamemodes over others and 343 shouldn’t force the entire playerbase just to populate your 1 gamemode.

Especially when it comes to kill challenges like “Get 20 kills with the BR” I’m like alright I’ll get that done in 1 match of swat. It ends up being Commando > Mangler > Mangler > Stalker > Mangler > Sidekick > Commando > Stalker > Commando > Commando > Commando > Stalker > Mangler > Sidekick.

Same with objective challenges like “Capture the flag in CTF x amount of times” and "Return the flag in CTF x amount of times. But CTF is soft locked in quickplay so it ends up being: Team Slayer AR > Oddball > KOTH > Oddball > Team Slayer AR > Team Slayer AR > Attrition > Oddball > Oddball > Oddball > KOTH > KOTH >Oddball.

And this is not an exaggeration this is literally what happens and it takes forever to get 1 challenge done and there are soooo many people in the forums who agree with me on this because I see so many people talk about it in many different people’s topics.

And I still don’t understand why social gamemodes have SBMM especially BTB and how there’s no leveling system. The only leveling system that exists is leveling the battlepass or events other than that there’s nothing.

Ik its amazing that Bungie had that feature with Destiny 1 back in 2014 and 343 doesn’t have that anymore with infinite a game made in 2021 (7 years later) Destiny 1 was a godly game D1 > D2

I’d like something more akin to the older halo titles. Those never felt super sweaty like this, but still had some level of matchmaking to ensure somewhat fair matches

Nah, it is about the same as it was back then. I remember it like it was yesterday.

It’s probably because after each match each players MMR is adjusted.

yesterday i was 1 hour searching for a match in social with my friends ( 4 players full team).
idk if it is beacuse we are from argentina or the sbmm being bad.
i dont have this problem in any other game.

I cant properly enjoy it with my friends because the challenge system discourages us from playing together

Agree 100%. All my social games feel so much sweatier in halo infinite than they did in h5 or h4 or reach

theres no push to talk on controller in halo inf pc how can u even say that. Alot dont use mics because. of this on team or global chat.

The gearbox pc ports? I’m talking about the Bungie console games.

Halo 2 - Xbox
Halo 3/ODST - Xbox 360
Halo Reach - Xbox 360

Those PC games were made by completely different people lol.

I miss spartan companies a lot. It was so much fun to grind for the Achilles armor and helmet, and yeah it was great to party up with people from my company.

Spartan companies were also a great informal way to learn the different metas of the gamemodes

I wish they could implement a challenge system that allows people in the same party to select common challenges in a particular playlist, that way we coild play with friends and progress the challenges

It rlly is. God forbid my friend wants to play a game with me, he’s in for an absolute SWEATFEST every match. Lol. It’s literally unplayable for him…so he just doesn’t.

Just give us Pre-game/Post-game lobbies with open-mic chat just like reach. In fact, make the mic quality sound just as bad as reach’s for the hell of it.

also give us proximity chat, prox chat is literally a game changer

Everyone just needs to have the same challenges.

Agree with gameplay being solid but its not fun to play socially, which was what i was getting at.

Mmm as a person that’s been playing Halo since day one explain what’s so bad about it. Because besides the normal issues that we all know with weapons, vehicles, custom games, and lack of content I truly don’t see anything different from the others in the first 6 months.

I like those maps the bwst idk what you mean.

Behemoth with vehicles plays unbelievably bad because of the open spawns and lack of anti-vehicle weapons close by. The shock weapons that do exist are a very unfun way of disrupting vehicles. Behemoth without vehicles is also very mindless, you’re either way out in the open trying to shoot well beyond the effective range of the BR for most of the match or shooting down a hallway.

Launch site is way too large for 4v4, it’s built like a 6v6 map that would still play awkwardly at that team size. The fighting is lopsided and the layout really only seems good for 1-sided obj modes. Unlike Highground where you get rid of 1-sided obj and it’s still compact enough that slayer is fun, Launch site is not at all.

I could see why you like those maps the best though, the 3 BTB maps don’t have consistent vehicle play, vehicle play is quite obstructed when it is there and BTB just generally plays more of a clustertruck than H4 infinity slayer. As for 4v4 I just think all 5 maps don’t really flow well and are all bland. I haven’t player Catalyst or Breaker enough to get an opinion on them, but i’m really not a fan of any of the maps, not just the initial 2 I mentioned.
