Halo Infinite: Least Fun Social Experience of any Halo?

With 343 spending more time making halo recolve around what their pro players want and less about the casual player…anyone else believe infinite is one of the worst social experiences out of any halo?

Its impossible to que solo in any playlist…ANY.

Maps. Guns. Lack of social aspect. Impossible to cue in solo lobbies and have any success.

Yes, cant even enjoy it with my friends because theyre lower rank and get steamrolled.

Even though I play more serious, I also enjoy infection, multi-team, action sack etc and played them often. More social playlists and no hidden social MMR would drastically change how social feels. Add maps that are more experimental and intentionally not designed for comp play (like launch site or behemoth, but ones that don’t suck) to make it feel more diverse and lastly bring back pre and post game lobbies, proximity chat and a lobby up feature.

I feel none of the 343 games have a good social component because they aren’t willing to divorce social from ranked for some reason, all social play has to have the same matching and serious feel as ranked does.

It is Strict SBMM that ruins it in my view. Nobody can relax

Also, my sbmm in social has gone through the roof since the start of season 2. Absolutely through the roof. That is either one of two things:

  1. A deliberate change by 343
  2. The population is now so low that the only people still playing are really good

It’s reflected in my quick play stats, season 1 versus season 2 is a really stark difference

Yeah i agree. I miss h3 social and reach invasion/btb

I think the only people left are the tryhards and the guys going for challenges only, the standard average player doesn’t play anymore…

It is easily one of the most challenging Halo’s I’ve ever played and I’ve played them all except Halo Wars 2.

My biggest issue is that the gameplay overall is fun, but everything else about the game from the weapon damage, range, desync, lag, challenges, customisation, quit bans, social interaction, UI, ranks and Battle Pass are just absolute [Naughty Words].

It’s actually difficult to have fun with this game.

I played Quick Play for 3 hours last night and didn’t complete a single challenge. It’s insane how people are supposed to be good enough to work at Microsoft and 343 are so incapable of making a working challenging and ranking system that rewards playing.

I cant bind push to talk on my controller (dpad) in infinti so its impossible to talk to anyone cuz open mics are very annoying. Had to disable it but ended up uninstalling after a week this was a big reason. How do u miss such an important feature?

99% of matches i enter solo the matchmaking. Playing almost Quickplay, Ranked and now also KOTH.
I miss the option of previous Halo titles where you had the after lobby and could chose to team up with the other players.
Lack of spartan companies is also affecting the social aspect. In Halo 5 i was member of a very big spartan company. Never had to play alone H5 matches.
A lot of members of the H5 Spartan company tried Halo Infinite. None of them remained. They all switched to another AAA shooter. I didnt like the other shooter, so i remained in Halo infinite.
Just my 2 cents

I’m probably enjoying the Infinite multiplayer the most to be honest. Sure there are issues but I play it and have fun a lot.

I wasn’t into online gaming back in the day, so I don’t really have a lot of online friends who play. Sometimes a friend will humour me. A friend is playing Reach with me now because I told him I’d never ask him to play another Halo with me.

I’ve been using these forums more since Infinite (started due to an issue, mind you), and I’ve found some people in the Recruit section.

This game feels the most social for me even though it has nothing to do with in-game features.

After a match, I would like the option to stay with the same group and automatically load into a new game rather than going back to the menu. I don’t understand why I have to start over with a new group each time, why can’t I choose to stay in the same lobby or leave, it’s so not social.

I like having to start another session. I don’t get launched into a match because I was too busy looking at stats.

I get what you’re saying. I’d use more social tools if they were available.

You can choose to stay or leave. When I play Destiny I can stay with the same group if I choose, sometimes one or more of the other players with leave, and it will search for additional players, but it’s nice when you find a good group to play on the same team with.

Social in this game is about on par with the social experience I remember getting out of Halo 2, 3/ODST and Reach.

If they remove SBMM, people will just get stomped or do stomping. I do not want that.

No man not even close. h2-3/reach had in game friends lists, pre/post lobbies, post couch to team up and push to talk on controller (pc) . Customs actually worked and there were more playlists. Inf has none of this.

So much for the broader audience 343 wants…

Yes, but not necessarily because of their focus on Ranked.

  1. Broken Custom Games/Browser

    • The community can’t make or share fun modes with each other.
  2. No Forge.

  3. Lack of Community modes (Action Sack, Community Slayer, Infection, Grifball, etc)

    • These are truly fun modes that are just great to play seriously or screw around with friends. With the exception of action sack, none of these are possible in Halo Infinite.
  4. FFA party-up.

    • Yes, I know players could “unfairly team-up”, but it also means we can’t just fight our friends. LSS is singleplayer event shoved down the fans throats.
  5. The Worse Challenge system ever.

    • I could go on and on, but the main thing is that challenges end up breaking up parties because everyone has different challenges in different playlists.
  6. No Pre-Game/Post-Game Lobby

    • Every match is a One and Done experience unless you send an invite.
  7. No Campaign Co-op (yet)

  8. No PvE modes

    • We have campaign (which doesn’t have mission replay) and that’s it. No Warzone, not firefight. Nothing.
  9. Busted Theatre.

    • Can’t halfway share clips in this game which is INSANE for a 2021 game.
  10. Can’t talk to the other team.

  • Not all of the friends we make were our allies. “Look, you don’t like me and I sure as hell don’t like you!”
  1. Ranked system in general.
  • You don’t really get to fight for the top rank. After 10 games, you’re “we’re you belong” so to speak.

And probably some other stuff.
