Hey guys, I started a LASO run a few days back, and for whatever reason even after doing the excavation site mission my Headmaster achievement was still at 0%.
Kinda have an idea why that maybe somebody can confirm, does the bridge skip on warship Gbraakon where you melee the door nullify LASO progress? Maybe it screws up it’s tracking of your progression? I’m gonna finish the level with the strat again and without to see if that’s why. If not, any other reasons i wouldn’t show progress?
“achievements no longer track progress toward their completion,” As per 343s quote.
As for the skip, it doesn’t nullify the run. I have tested this on my LASO run and nothing bad happened.
Just a side note, if you plan to do this in multiple sittings, don’t hit continue from the main menu. There’s a chance it could deactivate skulls and ruin the entire run. Instead, use the load game function
aye, i think the achievement (headmaster) is really de-valued now… i did it like 2 - 3 days after campaign was released. after i done it. i released people were using a bug gun/Easter egg gun to compete it making it 2000x easier,
i never used it, at all as it would of removed the challenge, now everyone has the achievement, and i battled my butt off for it…
honestly i am a little upset that i cannot gloat about my skill using that achievement as a basis… as people will now just say, haha that’s easy you probs used the scorpion gun, (when i didnt)

I beat this game on LASO twice. Once with the scorpion gun and one without it.
The scorpion gun is no more impressive than spamming infinite rockets and shock grenades from start to finish while skipping most encounters with the grapple hook. This game’s LASO is simply 2000x easier than any other LASO because of the Bandanna skull and no Iron Skull.
If you need to gloat about it you got a problem IMO Also you shouldn’t care you earned the achievement so why does it matter this logic fails to comprehend.
