You can doubt away, but a simple google search will verify it though. I strongly encourage it because it’s clear you hold it as a verifiably incorrect belief. HWID bans are fairly commonplace between Epic and Activision titles.
Replacement parts (usually the motherboard in cases of hardware bans) aren’t cheap, they can be anywhere from $100~ at the cheapest used price to $500+ depending on the model.
It’s pretty clear you don’t play on PC, because upgrades and part swaps are far from economical, especially in the middle of a semiconductor shortage. I’m personally trying to source a replacement 8 year old motherboard for my secondary PC after I sold my previous one, and it’s near next to impossible to get one at a used price that is less than the original MSRP.
I’m not arguing for forced Crossplay in Infinite though. Can’t prove much being forced into a situation where comparisons can’t be made.
I’m asking you to enable in MCC by choice and see that the average player doesn’t really care. They just wanna play the game.
Why would 343i force any loyal Xbox Series S/X customer to play with a PC cheater?
And to add injury to insult they make us wait forever for the “other [PC] players loading”
But you made your point as a PC player and you should be happy to play in a PC world with all the good and bad coming with it.
I am perfectly fine with an environment where a cheater with a banned console can’t just so easily replace a motherboard for $100 to get around a ban. Last time I checked a Series X still sells for about $500 if you are lucky to get one and there are still some listed on ebay and other sites for two, three, or even 4 times that much. I bet nobody right now risks a console ban for their Series S/X
The veteran player base are business owners, husband’s, fathers and workers now. The main player base are the casual youngsters that can play everyday rather than once or twice a week.
100k loss is nothing because it’s relative to the boom of players that started. That’s more indicative of the massive health of the launch than player attrition. If one were to make a point they’d show population loss relative to the launch versus other respective games.
It doesn’t really matter if I am or not really. The misinformation you’re talking about is of more concern here.
Some motherboards may be cheap, but a PC with a lowend motherboard likely isn’t going to have the budget put into it in order to even run Infinite at a good performance level. If you wanna talk about being cheap, a console cheater would probably use a One because they are much cheaper and easier to come by than a whole new Series X. Someone who’s willing to do all that just to cheat probably doesn’t see money as an issue either way, so it wouldn’t really matter if they were PC or console.
On top of buying a whole new motherboard, a PC player would also have to essentially rebuild their entire rig, which is more trouble than it’s worth to cheat on a single game. In actuality, it would be much more convenient and easier to just use an Xbox One to cheat.
Am I not making it clear that I’m not advocating for forced Crossplay?
Nobody wants to play with cheaters, that’s why a dedicated anti cheat is needed.
And it’s perfectly fair to have to wait on anyone loading into a match, because a match shouldn’t start until all players are able to play. This isn’t relegated to just PC players nor is it a verifiable claim.
Maybe I didn’t make my point clear.
There’s a good chance a $100 mobo in today’s market wouldn’t even support the additional hardware needed to run Halo Infinite. Regardless it’s not a cheap endeavor.
Nor would a PC player risk it for the cost of a component that costs an arm and a leg and time to replace.
The average consumer wouldn’t risk it on console or PC. Maybe hardware bans are the path to take. Start advocating for them.
Yet, the aim and see through wall cheats are on PCs and they are being used.
It doesn’t matter whether it is the “average” or any other kind of PC player who is using them.
It still is a fact that PC players are more likely to be cheating.
If that isn’t you then good for you being honorable. Unfortunately not everyone is like you and the typical cheater Halo Infinite players are encountering are using a PC, not a precious Series X console.
If it was that simple.
That didn’t work for me at all.
Filing a ticket isn’t promising either since your superintendent quickly told me to file a ticket with xbox support and I bet they will send me right back to waypoint
That’s a bold inference to make without any proof my guy.
Which is why anti-cheat and strong retaliation is needed to combat cheaters. If after that you wanna take the placebo and turn off Crossplay, even more power to you.
What a snobby statement. You make it sound like I’m in the minority here. Tone down the elitism, we’re on the same side.
152 hours played (a good portion of that is campaign) and I have yet to come across a cheater. I had my suspicions a few times, but upon reviewing the theater footage, the suspected players weren’t doing anything that resembled an aimbot or a wall hack.
