Halo Infinite Jacket...so I bought it!

Although I wanted to hate on the merchandise I bought it. I also have the cookbook, but am something of a major kitchen cook enthusiast so I feel less guilty about that haha.

I’m looking forward to taking the jacket to PAX 2023 or 2024 and getting as many Halo related staff signatures as possible on the blank cotton canvas exterior.

Definitely a man-cave framed piece and not a daily jacket for me :slight_smile:

Shhh, keep it down. If people hear you buy anything from 343 they’ll say you’re part of the problem.

For real though I hope you like the jacket and cookbook.

I also got it. Wish it was a bit less expensive though. That 117K is really going to dig into my savings.

Nope. It isn’t free. If you complete the fractures event you can pre-order it “at a discount” but they don’t sell it at all if you haven’t finished it.

I don’t want to imagine how bad the cookbook is. Probably thrown together in the same fashion as the game, without foresight and ambition.

This comes from a fan of cookbooks more than a sour fan of Halo.

I also bought the Halo Excyclopedia, it literally has everything besides not going indept about the Human-Covenant war. It also doesn’t even mention armor abilities from Reach of Infinite too

I am a skilled cook and have met many recipes across a lifetime of books that do not pan out as you would expect. For the ones I really want to work (particularly in baking) I just iterate and modernise the recipe structure.

I also (used to) spend a lot of time changing recipes into vegan friendly recipes for colleagues.

I have to finish reading the cook book before I critique it too heavily; it’s laden with world building context and recipes. I’m something of an expanded Halo universe guy myself, so I’ll eventually critique both sides of the book haha.

I like the idea - I’m not interested in the jacket for that price. But if 343i could add little trinkets like Dog Tags or something for a reasonable price I’d buy that after completing the respective event.
