Halo Infinite is the WORST optimized PC game I have EVER played!

Once again, I cannot play Halo Infinite despite uninstalling and reinstalling the game on my PC. I disabled and renabled Steam overlay. I have even reinstalled Steam. Its a total coin toss whether the game decides to work that day or not.

Emperyan FFA is still SPAWNING PLAYERS OUTSIDE THE MAP WITH NO FIX IN SIGHT!!! Desync countinues and even with thousands of Forge maps to play and the excellent Community Creations playlist, Halo Infinite is a tumbleweed dessert of infinitely lacking features and optimization. I cannot imagine Xbox Series X is faring much better, god help those stuck playing this game on the Xbox One.

I really hope Halo shifting to Unreal Engine 5 will ensure that Halo returns to setting the gold standard for optimization in general.

From what you’re saying, that sounds more like a PC problem than the underlying game if it isn’t launching or working for you randomly. Have you looked into Windows and checked to see if any files need repaired?

check ur drivers, then check if u got viruses, and finally run cmd.exe as administrator and run some fixes as follows (copy and paste):

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

let it finish, then run

sfc /scannow

let it finish and reboot your pc.

if it doesn’t fixes, reinstall infinite.

Check drivers, windows updats, and remove backround processes in task manager. You could also delete temp files

What exactly is going on with the game that’s causing issues?

First time I’ve even heard of this problem. Personally never experienced it nor have I seen it happen to anyone else.

Unreal Engine is older than blam/slipspace. It’s also got its own host of issues that’ll need to be worked out.

What’s your hardware?

True, but it get’s a lot more support than most others. Epic is pretty much an Engine company these days. I’ve been revisiting Gears 5 (Hivebusters) and Hellblade, which got an RT update on PC and I still can’t get over how good those games still look and perform.

I think the GamePass version is a lot more stable than the Steam version.

They’re both stable for me now. In the beginning, like the first 8 10 months or so, GamePass/MS store version always crashed on me and the Steam version was more stable.

I have recently noticed that the GamePass app/launcher will not always find updates for games but if I go to the MS Store app, it’ll tell me I have updates for my games via GamePass.

What are your specs OP?
