Halo Infinite is the new Anthem?

So 4 years have passed by and 343i has yet to release any gameplay footage or Vidoc to at least inform the fanbase who has been weary of their titles since Halo 5.

Let me remind readers in this thread that 343i has failed the Halo fanbase 3 times, these being with Halo 4, MCC, and Halo 5. All had problems at launch and took them months to fix. How can they fix their image? Well… by giving us more information such that we’re not weary of another of their products and possible “failures.”

The E3 trailer today did not show anything that would calm the fanbase. Remember Anthem? How a game showed at E3 with an incredible trailer ended up disappointing fans after 5 years of development? I’m starting to feel that Halo Infinite will be the same, with 343i now having 1 year to develop the game, especially when they have had 4 years to show us something since the release of Halo 5.

I’m worried, and unless 343i gives us more information I will not place too much hope nor hype for this game or company.

Absolutely possible. We won’t know until the test flights and game release. I absolutely wish to see more on HI but there are some good take aways from this new trailer.

H6 Launch is still a long ways away… No need to spread your worries just yet. No reason to lose hope and there’s really nothing to get too hyped about yet anyways, and that’s just fine. Over-hyping never ends well.

I highly doubt that lol. All of this anger and worry is due to a rumor stating that gameplay would be at E3, if built up everyone’s hype.

There was way more happening behind the scenes. This crazed worry has been debated to death on these forums. Lock this thread.

have faith is all i can say. if 343 continue to communicate with the fans, it can be great. time, communication are key elements to a successful game. anthem failed because they lied and rushed the game

I honestly wasn’t expecting to see any gameplay, but I am surprised that no one came onstage to talk a little about the game. Even if it was to mostly just reiterate what was already known and had been said, it’d just to keep those that don’t really stay in the loop interested. Four player co-op, Reach style customisation, etc…Nothing huge, because that’s saved for next year. But it needed something more. Had that been the case, it could have been THE game of E3, or at the very least, a contender.

We didnt see much gameplay for Gears 5 and that’s out in only a few months.

This trailer was clearly meant to address people’s concerns over the story and the general tone they were going for. I think it does a great job at that to be honest. It implies quite a lot regarding the story compared to the previous trailer. That was a major concern. Addressing that now eases a big push with the multiplayer later on.

They wanted to tell people in big block capitals “we are making next gen Halo CE”.

There has to be more. They even had some celebrities about to play this new Escape mode before going to the next trailer.

5 years is too long. I know there are plenty of patient SR 1’s that will disagree with me, but PC ititerations of decades old games are not a proper substitute for a great new Halo that should be out now.

5 years isn’t too long when you’re building a brand new game engine.

Maybe call it Halo combat Devolved instead of infinite, if the trailer is any indicator of the art direction and it ends up being CE story clone.

Idk man,art style doesnt look as bad as some are making it to be

The reason they haven’t showed gameplay isn’t because they aren’t proud of it or don’t have a sufficient amount; it’s a marketing tactic. You reveal things too early then the hype dies and people get bored, so you release some more stuff to keep people interested again and again until we know way too much and aren’t very excited anymore. Sure it’s a possibility, but I doubt Infinite will be anything like Anthem.

I don’t recall Cortana ruling the Galaxy in Halo CE.

It has a brighter colour palette than Halo 5. But it’s not being cartoonish. Chiefs plate has all the chips, scars and detail you would expect. The guy seems pretty well rendered with mocap. It takes place within a space ship and a Forerunner building so you dont have a more natural environment to look at.

I don’t mind the armor , it’s scratched up in places and looks pretty good to me.
but the whole pelican scene didn’t seem like halo at all, the style, the sounds the overall general aesthetic, it seemed like a star wars merchant ship rather than a halo pelican, the pilot didn’t even seem military in any way shape or form. Now maybe there’s a good reason for this but my general sense is underwhelmed and uninspired atm contrast that to a year ago.
Mind =blown .

Pelicans have changed over the years and not all models are the same. And when the trailer first started I thought it was a horror genre game, dude alone In a dark ship who seems like he is about to die while reminiscing with a holo message
