I have played for 3 hours so far and I am bored already…
the main concerns which need to be changed imo
AR is way to powerful, there literally feels like no point taking advantage of the power weapons.
I feel like our shields are much weaker than previous halos, I’m literally dying from nothing compared to H3
Grenades go off to quick and their range is a bit to much.
the pistol also is way overpowered.
With the AR being so powerful it’s basically whoever shoots first. It’s stupid. I could have a power weapon but because someone has burst me for 1 second longer with the AR I will lose. Other halos you could counter it if you had the right weapons.
Having no range in weapon power makes the game completely generic. The whole difference with a game like halo 3 was the ability of use of guns to your advantage. This halo just feels like I can just use an AR or pistol the whole way round and get away with it, it gets boring fast.
the game play is pretty decent. It just needs changes otherwise I’m positive this game will die out before it’s even started.

I just said I what I want, which by looking most people agree the AR is way to powerful.
Halo 2 and 3 were both balanced, weapon variety was what made 1v1 battles interesting. Having a whole range of weapons to use adds interest. Skill and use of weapons is much more interesting than running round a map spraying an AR, il wait and see how long you last till you get bored.

there’s a reason why people go back to Bungie MCC instead of halo 4-5 fella, but if your happy to keep playing Halos which don’t even feel like halo then you crack on

You’re literally talking to someone who skipped Halo 5 because they hated the direction the series went in under 343 lmao. This is the first 343 game I’ve actually enjoyed, and as an OG player I’m at a point where I feel it may just be the best MP in the series. You need to wake up and stop viewing Bungie’s games as imperfect masterpieces because they were always very flawed in lots of ways, as much as we loved them for what they were. But please, continue to be rattled that you’re unable to appreciate greatness

Yeah, I agree that AR is a little bit too strong, but it can be toned down (its a numerical value). Which will fix the majority of your complains.
Now in terms of the weapons, Ill say that from the 12 hours that I played. Ill say that this is the best diverse Halo Sandbox that we ever had. Its not like Halo 3 in which the BR basically dominated all the tier 1-2 weapons, there was no reason to use the SMG,Spiker, Needler, Magnum, Plasma Rifle because they will always lose against a good BR player.

I’m with you on this one … grenade throw distances are crazy. Also 343i are giving Halo their own identity seeing as they now own this game I dont think they really want “to do things the way Bungie did it”

I thought Halo was all about emergent gameplay. That what made it great was how rules objets and attributs interacted with each others. Infinite definitly gets what Bungie Halo is. Way more than 4 and 5.

Learn to read please it’s there in black and white.
Arena shooters are inherently boring and why they fell by the wayside. I personally like them but the old excitement of Halo from my youth is gone. I do enjoy the reduced time to kill, the fun weapon combos you can make and slide jumping after a grapple to send you flying across the map at super speeds. In the end its kit is still just run in circles and remember the power weapon/gadget timers like every other Arena shooter. The old Quake formula just doesn’t hold my interest as long anymore. I think the AR is to accurate though needs bigger spread to force burst firing or have more recoil. It is simply to easy to use.

Big exaggeration. Three or so weapons in Reach are useless. One is useless in 3. One is useless in 2. CE you’ve definitely got a point.

They’re infinitely more entertaining as they have far more strategy and speed required.

You cannot just pick up the BR and dominate in Halo Infinite and that’s a good thing. I was never a fan of the precision weapon meta, it made the game slow and boring. I always felt forced to use the BR and all the other weapons besides rockets and snipers went to waste. I’m glad that the AR melts peoples faces off at close to mid range. It should win up close vs BR and it should have a fighting chance against the BR. There is a reason that the military favors full auto over semi auto and burst weapons in CQB. It’s actually fun to use the AR now. The pistol is not overpowered, it takes like 7/9 shots in a magazine to kill. The real benefit of the pistol is it’s quick draw speed and fast reload from a partially filled magazine. Anything that pops shields can be paired with the sidekick to get quick kills but the sidekick is not a dominant weapon on its own.

I don’t get this “AR is too powerful” thing. It’s literally faster to kill with the pistol. Outside of that plenty of weapons on the map have close if not better TTKs too. Just because you can’t hit pistol shows doesn’t mean that the AR is over powered.
If people are bored then that’s fine. The industry has plenty of games these days that you can spend your time with.

Rocket, Sniper, and Hammer can all one shot? Not sure how that is incompetent against a 7 shot pistol and almost a full clip of AR ammo.

how often on the old halos could you shoot someone with an AR across the map and kill them when they had a sniper? not very often. The AR is meant to be used as a start up weapon, it is too versatile overall. All im saying is it needs nerfing down (both guns) and shields need to be stronger. This isn’t an old Halo though. The pistol doesn’t need to get nerfed. It’s probably already giving people carpal tunnel with the 7 presses. In my opinion they are fine outside of a small headshot damage nerf on the AR. Nerfing any weapon is dangerous. Why? Because of new players not liking significantly longer TTKs. People don’t want to spawn with a useless weapon.

Well that’s clearly not true is it as Halo 2 and 3 were classed as the best halos by a country mile. It wasn’t broke so why fix it ?
