Delay Halo: Infinite. This state of this game is unacceptable. Releasing it this year will be a guaranteed regret in hind sight, a mistake that can never be taken back.
For all who want to avoid delay, think about the slow unraveling of horrendous details about this project leading up to now. First the project director left within months of the release, then replaced by a new director, game delayed, now no campaign co-op or forge. So what’s the next critical piece of unflattering details to come out.
How can gamers be sure, that the solo campaign is even in a polished/finished state? If these publishers and developers get away with releasing a major franchise in this state, then things will only escalate. What’s going on here is way bigger than my opinion, thinking about this from a bigger perspective is a necessity for the gaming industry.
Below will be a listing of examples of what is unacceptable for consumers, and a glimpse of what will continue and escalate if the gamers and developers don’t put their foot down.
WWE 2K20
CYBERPUNK 2077
FALLOUT 76
ANTHEM
ME-ANDROMEDA
STATE OF DECAY 2 (launch co-op)
RDR2 (launch multiplayer)
HALO:MCC
AC-UNITY
…etc.
We don’t know the state of the game except that there will be no co-op or forge. We can’t be sure that it will be in a good state until it launches, I’d suggest not buying the game til reviews come out.

Game hasn’t released yet, how can you possibility know what state it is in?
I’d have to agree, i don’t want another H5 situation on our hands. If the launch content is on the level of H5 or D1 this game will get destroyed in the reviews. and the population will dissapear way before forge and co-op comes out.
What have they even been doing the past SIX years? And don’t give me the excuse of “they were working on the slipspace engine bro…”
And we are still months away form launch, who knows what else won’t be ready for launch, seems like everytime they wait for hype to pick up again before dropping a bomb of bad news, i wonder what will be next.

The fact that they plan on releasing the campaign in an incomplete state is a pretty good indicator.

Plus the fact that they are shoving the words “this is a live service game, launch is just the beginning of the journey , …” down our throats every chance they get

If you can wait 1 year to for infinite to drop, you can wait three more months after the game drops for Coop and forge to come when every1 else is playing and having fun w the game. I’m done waiting I just want to play the features of the game I want to play and not have the entire game held back on 2 secondary features that are going to be added in a couple of months.
I don’t get why forge is such a do or die thing for some people. It’s always been a back burner mode. Sure custom games and building your own thing, I get it…but how could you not prioritize campaign and MP more? I actually understand the co op argument more experiencing campaign with friends/family etc but I would say 90% or more play campaign solo anyway. And I’m sure 343 knows the statistics of who plays what and how and when. And that’s why they chose to delay those modes.

Exactly, I bet the majority wouldn’t even go into it until they’ve finished campaign and done some MP.

The campaign is complete, the optional co op mode is not.

This. Co-Op isn’t a core function of any halo games, the campaigns are built around playing solo primarily, then co-op is added afterwards.
People are spoiled and even despite the fact that these options will available a little later they just wanna complain for the fun of it I guess. If there’s one thing about this community that I have learned very well is that it is INCREDIBLY fickle! Like embarrassingly so.

If the campaign was complete, it would have co-op mode.

Neither is multiplayer then. They’ve both been there since the very beginning. They’ve both been in every Halo fps. The only difference is that you personally care about one more than the other and others care more about the other than you, so for you to pretend to play mini-despot and decide what is and isn’t “core” to the Halo experience about two of the only components that have been in every single Halo game to date is pretty dumb.

Likewise, if you can wait one year for Infinite to drop, you can also wait three more months for the game to come out. Delaying the game will prevent those of us who have to wait from having our first experience ruined by spoilers posted by people playing the game in those three months. Also, making 343i delay the game will tell 343i that we don’t accept their practice of releasing unfinished games.

Enough people have pointed out to you why that is quite simply an untrue statement.
Stop telling fans they deserve to be marginalised, omitted from launch and expected to avoid all things halo as to not be spoiled for what could be 6 months.
Stop pretending a feature that was instrumental in halos rise of popularity and one that by virtue of being online only affected reviews is not a relevant issue.
Campaign is a full price game missing what is for many the biggest feature.
Your opinion isn’t the issue.
The issue is further fracturing of a fractured community that was in a position to heal till now.

Can you show me a screen shot from 2001-2006 where we could use forge? I mean, it’s been in EvErY hAlO gAmE right? It’s almost like some secondary map editor actually made Call of Duty, Quake, Unreal, Halo, Doom, or any other game successful. Oh wait, I have never once in my life played on a forge map nor opened the mode. In the basic game, I just see lobbies of people enjoying the games.

LOL!! Fractured community? You mean the hipsters who hated online co op when Halo 5 did it are now mad that this doesn’t have it at launch? You think that Forge is a game breaking omission? The facts, no matter what 343 does, this toxic, ridiculous “fan” base will hate it. I am confident that both forge is used by less than 10% of the players, and co-op is used for skulls, for the achievement. Very few players use co op as the main mode of play.

Are you brain dead? All those campaigns were complete, they were not unfinished and they were released by the studios cause they met the targets on what they wanted to make. Now if the fans hated the campaigns, then that is another matter, but they were finished, with a lot of content, about 30 hours worth of gameplay. Now Halo has always been known for a short campaign, and that’s okay, it’s the story that counts, not the amount of content.
