My man, its conjecture. It’s your opinion, you have no evidence that Microsoft set the prices in the store. You have no evidence that Microsoft is telling 343 what items to put in the store. None. Now, if you get evidence, feel free to provide it and I’ll admit that 343, like the rest of us is getting f’d over.
Here we go again with the agenda, we must always put the ‘i’ after 343 …
I’m not going to continue beating my head against a brick wall if you are going to be this obstinate against known facts regarding how things work in the gaming industry. Best of luck getting that internal memo from 343.
See, I’m not sure you understand what the word “facts” mean.
And just know that any time I see one of your posts that says we should be blaming Microsoft, over 343 without providing evidence to the contrary, I’ll be calling it out.
Thanks for alerting me. I’ll be sure to ignore them until you research just what the roles of a Publisher versus a Developer are. Start with the link I gave you; it outlines everything nicely.
Funny, I read it and it didn’t say anything about Microsoft dictating the price nor the content in the Halo Infinite store…weird…
The practice of Publishers making demands on things to implement in the game goes back far.
Activision medled with Destiny development.

A rumour even went around that Activision didn’t like the original story of Destiny 1 and forced a rewrite.
Square Enix aledgedly wanted microtransactions in Deus Ex MD, after it was completed.

Then we look at games Microsoft publish, Gears, Forza, Halo.
All of which include microtransactions in some way or form.
Halo Wars 2 “famously” got an afterthought, lackluster, barebones card mode, where you could buy card packs.
If memory serves, Hearthstone had been gaining popularity prior to that.
Gears 4 and Gears 5 are riddled with them.
Forza got them implemented, cosmetics for drivers, which you barely even see.
Halo 5 got Warzone, a less than potential game mode with pay to win loot boxes.
Talk after the release of Halo 5 even suggested Microsoft affected the storyline of Halo 5 based on the feedback given on Halo 4’s story. That Microsoft was afraid a big story they had set up would scare away potential new players.
No, i343 doesn’t come from this response-free, but to suggest that the publisher holding the budget, and gets the revenue, doesn’t chime in on how they want things to be done, is naive.
Halo 4 was a bad game that died quickly.
Halo 5 was a medicore halo game that died quickly.
Tell me why anyone should have any faith in 343i after this many years of failure?
343 had all they needed to create a good compelling story and failed miserably. I guess a lot of us were clinging to a false hope
My apologies.
I was just frustrated…
What are the rest of those books?
Two games in 10 years and neither one was a hit.
Better off letting them brake 343i into 3-4 development teams and make 3-4 new games.
And just keep a small staff to update the MCC collection for the classic Halo fans.
How do you mean?
And what is a “hit” is still really up in the air. I’ve no interest in wandering down that rabbit hole yet again. However, to be clear, there have been eight games in the last 10 years.
Lol come on bro. We can’t count whatever it is you are counting.
You can and you should as they are Halo games that released. From 2012 we have Halo 4, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo: Spartan Strike, Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, and Halo: Fireteam Raven. Regardless of how small, fringe, or unsatisfactory you found them to be, the fact remains that they are Halo games.
we all are just try to keep it a little down and let the brain do the thinking for this okay? not trying to be insulting or anything like that
No you don’t.
Because Microsoft, as the publisher, is the one that decides when/where/how the game ships. Period. 343 could have kicked and screamed all they wanted a year ago when they wanted to delay a year, but Microsoft could’ve just as easily said “No. You’re launching in 2020, not 2021.”
Or even having a passing knowledge of what publishers do.
Oh geez dont forget mcc release
**Original post. Click at your own discretion.**
Yes I do.
I think you meant to say…“It doesn’t say anywhere in there that Microsoft made all the decisions and made 343 release the game in the state that it is in.”
Apparently, you don’t have a passing knowledge of reading comprehension. If we cracked your skull open would porrage come pooling out?
Apparently not, because you immediately followed with:
What are you talking about? What are you reading from? This is how the entire video game industry works. If you look at the word “publish” in “publisher” that should give you all the information you need. The publisher is the one who publishes (releases) the game. They have final say and ultimate authority. They approve the budgets. They finalize everything. If the game released in its current state, it’s because the publisher looked at it and said “okay, we’re releasing.”
I’ve worked in the game industry for 11 years. What the hell are you talking about?
Edit: I’ll grant you only the slightest of olive branches. A developer can make recommendations to the publisher. This is usually in the form of some kind of meeting where they highlight known shippables and risks. But even then, the publisher is still the one that says “go”
Listen Puffer, do you get some sort of enjoyment out of continuing this conversation? Do you work for 343? That would make sense since you spend all your time on here arguing with me over something idiotic instead of fixing your game.
