Since normal games are kind of boring and ranked is completely unfair and makes me angry as hell. I’m dropping the game.
Not coming back even if they fix it. This unfinished crap deserves to die.
Where is the evidence that Microsoft is the one forcing any of this on us and not a decision made by 343?
I keep seeing these posts “don’t blame 343, its Microsoft’s fault,” and yet what I don’t see are massive resignations in protest…I haven’t seen anyone resign since the game has released and then release some sort of statement saying Microsoft made 343 release the game in the state that it was.
Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
Yes but you still conflated two very different ways to implement anti-cheat, so I corrected you.
Much like the amount of cheaters in most other titles that utilize basic kernel level anti-cheat.
Much like they are in games that use basic kernel level anti-cheat.
1000 hours into CSGO, 2000 hours in Overwatch, 500 hours in Rust, I too am familiar with how anti-cheat systems work lol
Valorant’s root level system is no more viable than standard kernel level or traditional safety net anti-cheat. There’s a reason they’ve stopped promoting it as being better.
I kinda wonder what the Lead Nerrative Designer leaving from 343 will have as far as impact towards content
It really does seem like 343 is a rotating door. And kinda like they are just barely holding the whole thing together.
People don’t even understand 343 as a whole is not alot of Employees, I have heard that ots like a fight for resources within 343 from all the departments.
You would think Microsoft would be shoving them tons of support but it seems like Forza gets more support
Business model is something that the publisher would decide. Although it is possible that 343i were asking for a F2P halo title for years, the reality is that something of that magnitude would not be the developers own decision.
What are you talking about? 343 has one of, if not the, largest studios in AAA at ~750 employees. And that’s not even counting the large amount of contractors they use.
Game is boring tbh. Much better games out right now. Halo is a dying franchise because it’s devs are doing things poorly and making poor decisions. It doesn’t take long to understand why .
A Lead Narrative Designer likely wouldn’t have much impact on gameplay. The Lead Gameplay Designer and Game Director would, however.
The game isn’t broken.
Its unfinished.
I knew those flights came around too soon and here we are. The game is going to be dead before Forge can come around unless 343 pulls a massive overhaul in the coming months.
Well those contradict. And the later is decidedly false; it doesn’t speak for all of us, or what the Halo Franchise is to everyone. And that’s the wording that you chose; the “tip of the Halo Franchise”. That includes everything, not just Matchmaking.
Do they? Clarify these numbers. I could very well be wrong, so please let’s see something; the numbers that you’re quoting, are they daily numbers as is being put under scrutiny for Halo Infinite? Is it over an extended period, or the reflection of one day?
Good thing I’m not.
Because Microsoft is the publisher. That’s how the video game industry works. Developers make the game, Publishers market and sell the game.
Well we are missing a lot of content like forge, assassinations, firefight, etc (noted that not many games have these options but Halo made these as part of its identity). Now we just have to deal with unwanted changes and and overall incomplete game. Shop is pretty much garbage with high prices for things that are simple like colors. No good progression gaining for the grinders, armor core locking, player collision, and a lot more. At this point if feels like instead of a 10 year plan its a 10 years time this game will be complete.
You are meant to enjoy playing the game, even better with friends. The whole season pass and challenges actually detracts from the game IMO as people focus on them rather that the game its self. I like the game since they brought in dedicated Slayer and Fiesta and like the fast paced nature of it, All it needs is a few more maps and it will be perfect. I still enjoy playing Halo 3 Slayer and have been for years and hope this will replace that as my main Halo, I just need to convince my friends who dont like it because they have to learn a new system.
Yeahhh… my bad hahaha is a bit of a long one.
Tldr;
• Desync makes the game frustratingly unplayable.
• Player customisation/progression have been butchered in the name of f2p.
• BTB is completely busted atm but instead of being able to avoid it 343 decided to make the weekly challenge something thats 100 times easier to get in this forcing players to play this broken mode.
• Custom games are unstable and lack the ability to edit settings like spawning equipment like grappling hooks and them being unlimited. So we can only edit player speed/gravity/weapons & health even though equipment and how many uses they have can be edited in the training mode. Meaning no fun spiderman ctf games with your friends.
• Lack of pre/end game lobbies making you feel completely cut off from the community while you sit in loading screens.
• Menu’s feel clunky and unstable making your expensive pc feel like you’re playing on a potato. You’re also forced to wait on servers to download your player information before the menu will function.
Gameplay is fun but is heavily hindered by the desync issue. Progression/armor customisation being cut up and sold back to us for $20 a pop is a huge slap in the face to dedicated players. Why bother grinding the bp when someone can just pay to have the same armor as you.
You feel bad for the devs because you can tell they put effort into the game but sadly publishers can’t help themselves but to sacrifice the player experience in the name for profits.
(Still long but hopefully will be easier to read than my original essay
)
What you don’t like being forced to pay $20 for purple?
100% agree tho… I really hope 343i & Microsoft wake up and give us the basic ability to color our spartans without having to pay $20 for each color of the rainbow.
For a Halo that was promised to have the most expansive customisation system it sure feels a lot more restricted than it needs to be so they could optimise their profits.
And to think if it wasn’t just about profit how much better off the game would be. Hell, even Halo 5 Imo was designed a hell of a lot better.
not going to agree or disagree but in fact, I have been playing less and less. the campaign does not motivate me to play, and multiplayer remains a little bit broken and sometimes frustraiting.
I don’t think I’d it’s dying but some fixes abd new content is welcomed
Woah oksy like I get your made but I don’t think the whole let die thing needs to be said
I think infinites gonna be bigger in terms of memory call it a hunch
Saying “since 2012” is a bit disingenuous. 9 years may sound like a long time, but it was only 2 main series games until Infinite. Whereas Halo 1, 2 , 3, ODST, and Reach all launched within 9 years. Saying “oh well uh people got older and games are different now and uh…” as some kind of excuse for lackluster player numbers doesn’t hold up. Microsoft and 343 absolutely had the chance to seriously revitalize the IP and have a massively successful launch with real longevity. But they screwed themselves over with 6 years of awful management (like replacing employees every 18months to avoid paying healthcare/benefits) and absolutely fumbled the launch. If they had delivered a quality game with a good campaign, a good multiplayer, good progression/customization, and the promise of future content, they would have knocked it out of the park. They could literally have cloned 90% of Reach’s multiplayer design and slapped on an extra battle pass system and it would have been 10x better than what we have now. I have nothing but contempt for this game’s management.
