Keep telling yourself that when each passing day the game suffers from no forge.
Forge (or lack there of) has absolutely nothing to do with those numbers kid.
Read before spouting off nonsense
It does actually. The custom games and forge is why most people play. Every one I play with uses the custom game options and they always end up playing another game because the game gets stale. Sure people will log in to play. Even me. I log in every day. Doesn’t mean I’m ganna be staying on there all day like I used to.
lol bro… the game is dying, especially on PC. AA dominates the game, hit reg especially on MNK is ATROCIOUS. the amount of cheaters… lol just the st eam population alone has gone from 250k peak to 50k… that’s BAD. That happens over a year of time for some games… in one month for Infinite. I love this game and want it to succeed. There is still so much balancing and optimization that needs to be accomplished. They earned their holiday break, but this next month is do or die for this game sadly.
I’m not taking part in this debate, but Volt definitely has a point. Custom games and Forge are a huge part of the community content and offer so many ways to engage with Halo, and lacking them is definitely having an impact on player retention- even if on a small level.
Forge won’t come in a month so even the slightest of fixes won’t hold over people for long. They might fix desync but collision is still an issue. They might fix the store but there’s barely any maps to play. They already got stale.
They can’t catch up in time. Maybe one day when forge comes it’ll change everything
We don’t even have an option to setup infinite equipment so we can make cool custom games like grapple shot starts
With the rumors of Infinite Forge being basically a game engine/creator, it will. BUT the playerbase has bled so much, specifically on PC which is a massive market, no one wants to wait that long with this much cheating in the game. That coming from a PC MNK player. Even in open, people using walls with a controller. So boring sometimes.
I made a post about this already. Hackers aren’t going away. They already screwed themselves by making it free to play. The hackers have the files already and are prepared for when updates come to ban them. Like wheres the anti cheat at?
Mr. “Why Can’t We Have Nuanced Debate” over here once again subverts the narrative and substitutes anecdotal evidence where objective correlation can’t be overcome.
Respond to my points Volt, or I’ll have another example to post on your monument to why people shouldn’t throw stones in glass houses.
Didn’t need a post to make that point. That’s obvious. They NEED a kernel level anticheat like Valorant. That is the perfect f2p structure in terms of infrastructure for them to mimic.
Most common anti-cheat software is kernel level. Easy Anti-Cheat and BattleEye are the most common of them.
Valorant uses Root Level Kernel, and while it was marketed to be unbreachable, it was circumvented quickly and now functions the same as if it were any other anti-cheat system, except it’s far more invasive for no viable trade off.
Halo Infinite is unplayable… Its most popular mode doesn’t even work (BTB), has no real content at all (no reason to keep playing) and some its strengths (PC day 1, F2P, Open World Campaign) are neutered because 343i released the game like 50% done.
The population should be declining. If it weren’t it would be far far worse for Halo fans because it would mean that 343i can do nothing for months on end and retain a lot of players.
I haven’t played the game in about a week or two, and I happen to like a lot of things about Infinite, which is sort of telling that fans don’t even want to play it.
Ultimately this is all very very irrelevant. Infinite can (and probably) will bounce back just like most F2P games do after release, its F2P and has a small download size so basically there is nothing that stops people downloading it again.
Wait till forge comes. It’ll be huge gigs. Halo 5s was already big download
The problem is though, this game has one of the largest and fastest dropoffs of player count of any major game in years. The dropoff is actually worse than Battlefield, which is a completely broken game. And to your point about the numbers being similar to Destiny; this game has been out for under a month. Destiny 2 has been out for years. If they have similar player counts, that means this game is failing, badly. If Destiny has the same number of players after years and years that Infinite has after less than a month, how few players will Infinite have after a few years?
So, the game isn’t dead, but he is right that, at this rate, it is dying.
You have reason! Most of all I hope 343 is going to allow tonturn off crossplay for all matches.
Fine get technical. Everyone here knew exactly what I meant.
And to say “no viable trade off” is kind of a lie. The amount of cheaters in Valorant is hilariously low, and if they do, 8 or 9/10 times they are booted the second the cheats are turned on. I know this from being matched against them in Valorant, 800 hours into that game too btw.
Is there a tldr short description?
I read about half of what you said and agree, but reading off of a cell phone is brutal
Maybe you don’t know that the population on pc went from 270k to exactly 40k
Jesus Christ. This braindead talking point… again.
This trend happens with virtually every shooter release. This is so stupid to bring up.
Although no numbers are attached, TrueAchivements compiles a weekly play list based on a sample size of 2-million gamer tags. I am not sure if this differentiates between Xbox and PC, or if this is Xbox console only.
Since launch, Halo Infinite has held onto the number 1 spot and has yet to drop. While it is just a sample size of the overall tags on the Xbox network, 2-million is a decent sample size and is representative of what is going on the Xbox network.
