Halo infinite is already full of tryhards

I played my first 10 matches of pvp in halo infinite and only had 1 victory. I am an average player but those last few games made me feel like a complete noob, playing against others who memorize every button combo, granade time etc etc. It seems halo infinte is not amune to the hords of tryhards chasing thier next “mlg” youtube clip. I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t remember every game being as sweaty as they are now. I really hope that social playlists in halo infinite stays social and fun and does not get flooded by toxic “get good” players.
Edit- if there is a better term for “tryhard” please let me know. Dont let the word obscure the full post.

Ah yes, god forbid players try to win their games… I mean seriously, what exactly do you expect? It’s a multiplayer shooter, it’s always competitive whichever way you look at it.

Sweats are going to be on very type of game no matter what. I’m guessing you’re mostly matching sweats because those players who signed up for the flights are multiplayer focused and there’s not enough of lower ranked SBM matches. Surely once the game is up and running there will be wider player base so you will most often than not find games with players of your own skill rank.

I’m just waiting for the Christmas noobs to get their hands on this game so I can pad my stats the first month of this game hahaha …

Why are you surprised that the flight is full of “tryhards” when the people playing are the dedicated die hard halo fans

I don’t mind loosing, what i don’t like is loosing without a chance. Having one-sided games. And there is a different between competitive and social playlists.

I mean it’s a beta, people are still trying to “break” the game

Halo is my bread and butter too but idk maybe this style of gaming is just how games are played these days.

Serious question, if you win a gun fight or throw an awesome nade and secure a kill does that make you a try hard? Or when you won that 1 match, does that make you a try hard for that game?

Why play a TEAM shooter if you are not trying to win?

I guess I’m just a try hard in life because I strive to always do my best.

Hey how hard people sweat isn’t a problem ever. They put in the effort and time into honing their skills for a game they love.
You as another player can either match their skill or just accept that you’re a casual and move on. Plus, this is a Flight, players of all skill are playing anyway.

games deff are sweaty, and for some reason even going 49-50 and getting more kills the death the game feel you are being steamrolled, it shud feel even but I guess it down to most players are more than average halo fans and the low aim assist and wonky aiming don’t help on the feeling. I guess when I can get the dead zones more sett I will feel more right but as-is out of the box its feels off

I think you miss read the post… First of all its a video game not a physical TEAM sport, and idk about you but i play video games to relax, not to get sweaty balls trying avoid getting stomped in video games. If i want to sweat I’ll do something physical. Secondly i said its the people who memorize the tatics, getting that awesome nade or winning that 1v1 is great! But like i said im an average player, i don’t expect to win every fight i go into but getting killed 10 times in a row is excessive.

They’re referring to the folks who memorize every spawn point and constantly take down the other team’s players before they can so much as take 3 steps from the spawn, or camp in spots that make it impossible for the other team to even attempt to engage.

Nope, didn’t read it wrong at all. It’s not that difficult to remember where certain things are on the map or understand the situation you are in to determine the opponent’s spawn or whereabouts.

it takes some oractice but not hard to use some thought in bouncing nades in certain locations for it to be placed at the foot of the enemy. Just takes some time and practice. But if someone thinks that’s being a try hard then why even play? Those to me are basic things in Halo since CE or in any FPS.

I think the nature of an early access flight means that your likely to get the Halo faithful who’ve played for many years. Most play PvP to win the game no? Sure not everyone does. But of course it’s going to be sweaty.

I did not misread anything. This is a worn out argument to put down people who put time and effort at getting good at a game. Just because someone used some time to understand the map layout, where things are located and how to properly throw a nade, doesn’t make them a try hard, makes them good at a game. So if this was a physical activity, and the oposing player did their homework and knew the gameplay and executed it perfectly, are they a try hard? Or if a coworker did way better than you in a group presentation because they knew the client better with research, does this make that person a try hard? I’m just trying to understand your meaning behind this word.

If you play games to relax, I’m sorry, I don’t think a FPS is the right game. Maybe some A RPG, MMO, simulator game would be the best type of game to relax. Not trying to be rude, but the FPS genre has never really been a game to sit back and relax (normal/ranked playlists). Custom games is a whole different topic.

Your right i guess i dont have to work on my marriage or learn to paint or get a job or fix the car. Thank god im good at video games though… Honestly i really don’t know when video games turned into this constant “get good” mentality. If love video games great but -Yoink!- chill a little because their love feels like they are gate keeping the game.

sorry boss, not sure how you’re gonna avoid the sweats especially with the hype on this one

I have had similar sentiments as OP. I’ve come to accept that me labeling someone as a “try hard” it’s really just me trying to make myself feel better for not being as skilled as I was in CE and H2.

So…match after match after match where your entire team is either being routinely cut down within moments of respawning or caught in crossfire before even being able to attempt to engage is supposed to be fun? I can see a fair number of people sticking to bot arena, just to have a chance at an enjoyable Arena experience with less chance of constantly being on the wrong end of horribly lopsided matchmaking and the relentless curb stomp that comes with it.
