Seeing who’s all hyped for the campaign! I know there’s been a lot of hype around the multiplayer and the season system an people are bummed that co-op campaign will come later but I’m wondering how the story is going to unfold and how the open world will work. will there be any campaign content added in the seasons or will it be like call of duty who doesn’t really touch story mode with there DLCs? Either way I’m super excited for the storyline and it’s open world.
I’m excited to play the campaign. 5’s campaign was a little lacking so I’m hoping 343i can come through and give us a great story. Hopefully if they do add content it will be better then the promise of Spartan ops that was supposed to last for years. It only lasted 1 season and even that was disappointing.
Think the hype dropped more and more the more 343 is telling us lol

Yep, they just don’t care about the fanbase or standards.
- No Co-op - No Forge - Removing color customization - Bad XP system343 is still losing to an 11 year old game. Sad.

It doesn’t help that they don’t seem to be doing much to mitigate this. I understand they don’t want to repeat halo 5 where they overpromised and underdelivered, but at this point we’re delaying functionalities the game has had for over a decade.
The game was supposedly done except for graphics last year, but its pretty evident that wasn’t the case, or they wouldn’t be figuring out co-op and forge still.
Shouldn’t they be showing off what we’re getting instead of what we’re missing? They haven’t shown off open world halo beyond a flicker of a map during some rather run of the mill gameplay. They haven’t shown off any new modes, unlike Warzone and Breakout got for halo 5. We have a number of features that 343 has been wishy washy on the past which have no confirmation on if they’ll be there at launch. The game needs to show off what we’re getting, and be proud of it.
Having old school art style and semi-classic gameplay is nice, don’t get me wrong, but its not like it was harder than what they were doing before. I know Covid was a thing, but the software company I work for has been busier than ever, and done so with a reduced staff. Covid is not the big hurdle to software companies that people try to make it out to be. Even if 343 has somehow 50% as productive as it was due to covid, they’ve still had a year to make up for last year.
I just don’t understand what people are hyped up for in this game.
I’m ready to play the game In general,I hope that it’s done well because we don’t know anything about it.
Don’t know if hyped is the right word but I’m very much looking forward to 343 being a lot more open and upfront on what campaign will actually be, including actually showing some of it to us. But hey we don’t need to see any gameplay am I right? I mean it’s not like they’re already taking money for it through preorders or anything…
There’s almost infinite potential in a Halo open-world game, do I think 343 will take full advantage of that potential? Definitely no. This will be their first open world game, it won’t be a masterpiece. Look at Cdpr and how they killed it with Witcher 3 then tried something new and gave us Cyberpunk, not in regards to bugs but the lack of basic features one expects from a game like that. Over time being a service game I hope the campaigns and open world can grow to be something truly special but I truly believe that’s not what we’re getting at launch.
