I haven’t seen anyone else mention this but I’m finding the HUD to be harder to read that in previous games.
I’m not noticing when I have equipment and I’m not noticing which types of grenades I have equipped. It’s not all the time but I feel the icons could be more prominent. I don’t have this issue in the other Halo games.
I’m not sure if it’s just the size, the opacity, the colour or a combination that is causing the issue.
The layout’s the main problem - you subconsciously learnt which corner to look at for what, now everything is close together.
343 said they moved everything to the bottom corners as they believe looking up to the top corners causes fatigue - the amount of times 343 make me roll my eyes causes my fatigue.
It has been talked about here but, as usual, cat ears and pineapples have buried them and there are videos saying the same.
Another point. Is, if one corner only had equipment in it and you didn’t have any, the corner would be blank.
As soon as you picked up equipment you’d notice the equipment had gone into the corner in your peripheral vision.
They way it is now, if you run over equipment unknowingly, you sometimes don’t notice because of the clutter surrounding it
I think it’s the size, personally. Especially the radar; it feels almost useless cause it’s so small. Though the abysmally small in-game range plays into that too.
I changed the icon sizes immediately. Large is huge. Everything in the UI gets bigger, as well as the call outs. Very useful for anyone having this problem.
Go into your in game UI settings and tweak a few things…there’s quite a few options in there that may improve the HUD for you. Check on YouTube too as there’s plenty of info out there about the settings (some good, some bad) that you wouldn’t otherwise know.
