Halo Infinite having the longest campaign levels?

What are the chances of the upcoming Halo Infinite having the longest campaign levels? Could it be close to a 12 hours or 14 hours of campaign?

Im actually feeling pretty confident that halo infinite will have the longest campaign…
Not sure about the number of hours… and also not sure about individual levels… id actaully prefer a longer campaign with reasonably sized levels… not too big.

It just might. I’m a little nervous but I won’t let it deter me. I’m excited regardless.

I kind of want them to think of Attack on the Control Room as the goal length for levels in Halo. If all the levels are roughly in that area it will make for one hell of a campaign.

If the rumors are true its possible. But, I also hold little confidence in rumors. Should be fun to see more

We have no idea how long the campaign levels are going to be in Infinite.

Rumors are saying that it’s going to be a “larger and more ambitious” campaign but that could mean either larger levels or more levels.

I know this is crazy to say but I will say it anyway. I was really hoping that if 343 was going to be ambitious that they would go all out with this campaign. I was thinking more along the lines of 30 to 60 hours of gameplay. The reason is if that 343 has under promised and under delivered. Halo Infinite needs to be the game where they get the execution down to every single detail. They cannot undersell this game without overdelivering this time. Everything we have come to know and love about Halo over the years has to be in this game AT LAUNCH.

I say 30 to 60 hours because if this game has open world-RPG elements within the exploration side of the narrative or if the there are side quests, terminals, or Easter eggs to be found on the presumed Zeta Halo Ring setting that should add to the game’s length. Plus, whether we as Halo fans and gamers like it or not 343 needs to wrap up the events of Halo 5’s ending before progressing with the story.

That’s expecting too much based on very little. Sure, rumor has it that the 6-8 hour campaign of previous Halos is no more, but 30-60 hours is a bit much. We don’t even know how much of an open-world or RPG game this is (how many mechanics of those genres will be included). And the scenario being spouted by the fanbase that the franchise will drown if it’s not everything and more at launch is quite a bit exaggerated; Halo is a very important asset to Microsoft, who has a lot of money to pump into the franchise to get it off of it’s knees even after crippling defeat (which the Halo franchise is yet to face financially, even Halo 5 sold well enough).

I will say that Halo fans need to back down on speculation and hype based on little to no proof. Most of us have already invented in our minds what Infinite will be; we’re inadvertently overhyping the game even though it has no marketing yet (then people complain that 343 doesn’t have an intense marketing campaign to hype us even more). We just need to calm down. Sure, they’ve said there will be more expansive levels, but people took that and ran with it (especially the Youtubers), saying stuff like “Halo Infinite RPG confirmed?”. No! You’re setting yourself up for disappointment (potentially).

Personally I expect a 12-20 hour campaign with perhaps more open levels, maybe some light RPG elements. I expect it to be more ambitious than Halo titles, perhaps advancing us into a new era of Halo games, but not a full-blown RPG.

343 has a lot to live up. I am not a hardcore Halo fanatic/gamer who reads and watches all the books, graphic storyboard novels, and TV shows to get a full understanding of what is canon. We can be honest and say 343 did not live up to expectations with Halo 5. A lot of gamers not named myself have admitted as such. Yes I am excited. I am excited because for the first time in five years we are going to get a mainline Halo game. Hopefully, for the first time in 13 years we will witness and experience a Halo game more in the liking of Bungie’s Halo.

No I am not setting up for disappointment. I am just laying down the parameters from my point of view 343 must implement so Halo Infinite can have a successful launch. If I don’t get what I hope to expect I am not going to be disappointed believe it or not. I am going to critique Halo Infinite based on the writing, storyboarding, cinematography or cinematics, sound design, and dialogue delivery. If I can actually follow the story and it seems like the actors care about the characters they are playing I will be satisfied. If not I will still not be let down because up to this point 343 has shown like they have learned from their past mistakes.

343 would have to work very hard at not trying this time around for me to say Halo Infinite did not live up to expectations.

Do you really believe that with everything that has to be resolved from the events concluding Halo 5 and the new events that will set up the new story moving forward this game can wrap up in 6 to 8 hours? Maybe on Easy mode if you are speed running the game. Otherwise, I think the plot is going to need a lot of breathing room. This will be especially true if 343 does a show and not tell approach to the whole story like they did with 2019 opening cinematic of the game.

Allegedly Jerome, Chief, and Locke will all be in infinite according to some random dude on reddit. So take that what you will. Dude also said 32 missions and their independent events will all intertwine. While that sounds nice it also sounds mad overkill. I might actually dread a 32 mission campaign. Especially for achievements and laso :joy: one man can only go thru so much hell

but the game is bound to have a hefty campaign. I think 12-15 decent sized missions with a good story after 5 years of development should fill that craving we’ve all had for sum time. Hopefully the rumored Microsoft event in may is true and we don’t have to wait until June for information

Who knows, they haven’t said anything about the campaign structure. But the fact it’s been in development for 2 more years than usual could mean longer campaign.

as long as it has the hallmarks of previous campaigns, new innovating ideas I hope it would be long and satisfying.

It is possible, but length doesn’t equal quality. I’d rather have a short campaign with a good through narrative verses a long campaign with extraneous plot just for the sake of prolonging the campaign.
If we do get an open world for example, I hope the main game missions are still linear and accessible outside of any kind of hub world. Not sure how that could work, but an ODST style game with a system in place to avoid playing missions out of order would be cool.

To be honest, I don’t really care that much about the hours it takes to complete, I just care that it’s as much of a quality content as possible & not some overstretched garbage, the mission lenght doesn’t therefore matter either, as long as missions are cut in spots that make sense, then Infinite should be good to go.

Though if 343i can make longlasting quality content then why not, simply saying that there shouldn’t be some overly ambitious goalpost to avoid Halo 2 situation with quite a number of cut content.

Honestly… speaking for myself… I’d like a long campaign. Something more then ten hours…
with a good mixture of missions… more then eight please?. make it nice and long…

That said, I’d like a well-developed campaign with characters I can believe in…
and people I’d like to feel privileged to fight alongside. I want characters I can
respect… Not people who show up, get ten minutes of screen time and aren’t developed.

I’d love it if the campaign would be longer!!! Halo is a big universe and a big universe deserves a long campaign.
It would be great if the campaign would be a lot longer.
I think that it probably will be longer, but let’s see. It would be sooooo nice!!!

Its about time for a longer Campaign, all the competition is doing it in their first party games!

I always found Halo CE to be the longest Halo, so I hope it at the very least matches this, in terms of campaign length, but more specifically in terms of the scale and length of some CE levels.
