Halo Infinite has ruined my love for Halo

Halo is trying too hard to be like other titles which has resulted in it being less like Halo. You’re not supposed to be flying around the he map, getting from one end to the other in a matter of seconds. That’s what other games do and that’s one of the reasons Halo was different. Now that Halo is comparable to other games, the fans will drop Halo for whatever the new flavor is.

Id agree to any game there is a drop off of players its to be expected in any game there no exceptions to this but its more like a gradual drop caused by a lack of content people will come back as soon as things are added but i can also see why people would be very upset a gradual drop is very bad

But you really have to admit we have gotten way less content then any other halo release and 3 months nothing but i could understand live service seems to be a jump for 343 alot of people had high expectations for halo infinite that were dampered over time playing

I believe 343 will start hitting harder once season 2 releases and they have gathered feedback from everyone just gotta hunker down and give time and feedback

Like i think the only thing bothering me is lack of customization or goals to earn stuff body types I identify with and armor coatings and and my favorite armor these minor thing these keep me around I just gotta give them time

If they gave me a white primary and pink secondary coating for my armor id be around all the time -for Mark V

Hard disagree I think Halo 4 was a banger, as was Halo 5. The problem is this community HATES change, the only thing they’ll accept is a carbon copy of Halo 3 and even then they’ll find something to whine about.

The fact neither game sustained a large population and fell off so quickly would suggest your opinion is in the minority.

This community hates things getting fixed that were never broken in the first place.

If Infinite ruined Halo for you to the point you don’t even wanna play MCC, then maybe you never loved Halo in the first place.

Just saying.

in all honesty… i would have 100% prefered it if 343 took those 6 years and spent it on porting H5 to pc along with wars 2 to steam. over the current state of infinite. F2P honestly from the lack of content just seems like an last second excuse for the monetization and lack of really anything

No this community hates change. That’s been made abundantly clear over the last decade. Keep in mind not all change is good, but not all change is bad either, most of the time you wind up with a mix of both.

Of course not all change is bad. My point is this community had valid reasons to dislike some of the changes when 343 took up the lead. Most of the aesthetic had changed dramatically and the gameplay felt to similar to other games like titanfall or just felt generic.

What people loved about the Bungie games was the crazy tricks you could pull off. Without the help of various abilities like clamber or spartan charge. This community most definitely enjoyed the gameplay Infinite had to offer. They’re just pissed about the bugs, monetization and lack of communication.

I’m not saying I condone some of the snarky responses this community is capable of can but I understand the frustration. People are tired of constantly fighting online battles for this game’s survival.

Maybe if people would just chill out and accept the good with the bad, in 4 and 5’s cases anyway they wouldn’t have to be fighting for Halos survival.

That being said Infinite is a bad game from every possible standpoint, and the reason why people praise it is that 343 teased us with Infinite non-relevant news for a total of 6 years, then after 4 years we get 1,5 years of semi-relevant news, and then 6 months of great news before the first flight went live. Then 343 blueballed us with a game that was the polar opposite of what they promised to deliver a game that puts the player first and a love letter to the fans.

The community was teased and starved for new content for SIX YEARS, naturally at that point they’ll accept ANYTHING as good. And we’re seeing the fallout from that as we speak, Infinite’s numbers are plummeting, the fanbase is beginning to brandish their pitchforks and torches, it’s only a matter of time before Infinite is abandoned by players and developers alike.

Halo 4 and 5 were just different games, Halo 4 had little to no game breaking issues, Halo 5 had a few that were patched out by the time Forge came along, 2 months post-launch.

Infinite is actually in WORSE shape now that it was when it launched, there is no good to be accepted here, the game will continue to get worse unfortunately. That’s how F2P AAA games work these days.

I like your point here :+1: Halo 5 has my vote for this.

My whole family is into Halo. It started with Dad being a Halo Fan Boy on steroids. He had a bit of a hissy fit, when Infinite came out. He said he felt like 343 had kicked him in a certain place ( LOL ) but it didn’t take him long to get over it. The MP in Infinite is not working for us, due to quite a few contributing factors, be we are all into the campaign. Dad has already collected every armour locker, data pad, spartan core, freed all UNSC forces, taken out all the bosses, collected every skull, etc. etc. and has started on his Legendary run. When he comes up from the farm on Thursday night, he has dinner and is straight on to the MCC, like a little kid, knocking over the new round of challenges. We have all collected these seasons 100 unlocks and are giving the exchange a beating.

A big thumbs up to you !! It’s nice to see one of the Monitors interacting. I have read through all the posts and it’s a great discussion/debate going backwards and forwards

Your post title is pretty clickbait then. It seems like your entire issue is with Infinite’s MP, and yea, everyone feels the same. Most OG players also feel very alienated by H5’s MP as well. Even if it’s a very good MP experience, it just doesn’t play like Halo.

LOL !!

I love it !! My Dad had me and my 2 sisters all playing split screen with him, for as long as I can remember. We surely are looking forward to Infinite co-op !!

“… then maybe you never loved Halo in the first place.”

Oh, please…

I have over 200+ Diamond Achievement in the MCC.

I feel the game is still in Beta mode, it shouldnt have been released without ingame stats, a ranked team slayer mode. Im pretty sure it will end up like Halo MCC, removing servers and in the end only US players can play the game, unless you like to play 130ms ping pong games. The game is getting more and more lag for each week, Im pretty sure the are removing servers as players leave the game. So now they force you to play on American servers, its wasnt because of geofilter, its because the game is loosing players.

It’s alright lads. Elden Ring is out tomorrow so we don’t need to get our fix from Infinite anymore. We can play finished games.

Yes, the main issue is with MP, basically, all the issues that everyone has mentioned across the forums, except at this stage, lack of maps. Don’t misunderstand me please, we have abysmal connectivity issues, which supersedes everything else. There could be 50 maps, which would be awesome, but with the problem of connection, it would be an abysmal experience on all 50.
We also do have plenty of criticism for the campaign. The physics, at times, make for hilarious moments. We have all gone through the bottom of the map. Can’t replay certain levels. The linear parts are very repetitive. The open world is a lot of nothing. None of the wildlife we saw in the previews. Someone went crazy with ‘copy and paste’ on pine trees and yellow flowers. No co-op or split screen, but I don’t ever expect to get split screen back. The other big thing I notice, is no score/timer/competitive/campaign medals. I play MCC, I can choose score, timer etc. and the medals pop up across the screen as I get them, I’m astounded that is completely absent from Infinite.

Exactly the same for me. There is nothing worthwhile at the moment that could make me return. The heavy insistence that I buy challenge swaps to unlock the free stuff I want killed my enjoyment.
