I know that theoretically that they were saying that Halo Infinite’s was more graphically powerful than previous halo games (Xbox Series X game reveal July 23rd 2020)…
but did anyone else notice how underwhelming the graphics were…?
it honestly looked worse than halo 5. Like it belonged in the era of Halo 2 through 4…
I’m sure a lot of work went into story development…
but for a 7 year time gap for a blockbuster title…
why would they make a next gen premier look like an old generation remake?
Honestly, this was one of the most underwhelming displays. When did the Brutes turn into the Locust from Gears of War? I can’t believe that this has taken this long to develop a game that looks like its oriented towards children like Fortnite. I was really hoping for them to go to the classic halo art style. I’m not sure what else to say
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. I know it was just a demo, but wow…what a way to try to sell your product when there’s little blood, the gameplay graphics seem cartoony/low quality/like Mega Bloks or Legos models, and the Warthog sounds like a ricer with some modded exhaust system.
I honestly love the graphics, I was a bit thrown off at first but after paying closer attention I think this game looks exactly like a next gen Halo game. I think the world is very detailed but not too exaggerated. Those visuals were subtle, organic and simple, exactly how a Halo game should look. Anyone who says Halo 5 or 4 looks better seriously needs to purchase some glasses or revisit those games. The only animations I didn’t like were the explosions. Other than that I really don’t see the problem.
I like it. I think its an intentional style choice. I think graphics have gotten so good that developers can either chase photo realism or try to capture a specific art style. I don’t think they went for photo realism.
I believe that the color pallet is too vivid. Grunts look so vivid, too orange and too purple, elites are too blue and the contrasts needs an adjustment. We need more real textures, metallic textures for guns, details, less color saturation. Explosions look very cartoon and I think it is too much, screen is saturated with shields, explosions, bullets and plasma effects.
I am a huge Halo fan, but what I saw yesterday was heresy. I know they are trying to get a Halo CE feel but these graphics are just terrible. You can have a spiritual remake of the game and still have great graphics and sound. Hey wait, thats what the Halo CE anniversary and Halo 2 anniversary did right?
Every Halo game has always pushed the limits to have the best graphics and sound to really put the player its space opera realm. Ever just go into the campaign or a multiple map and walk around looking and listen to the world around you? They are extremely well done and incredibly refined.
This, this looks like a Minecraft shooter rip-off that you would play on your phone. The AI seemed abit glitch as well. Nothing looks polished or finished. COW Warzone has better graphics…
I loved how everyone is complaining about the graphics, not because that’s good but shows infinate has greatness when peoples biggest beef is the graphics which can be upgraded relatively easy. Everything about the core of this game is solid.

Graphics isn’t the most critical aspect of a game but when these graphics become so distand from what the previous titles had it makes the whole game and it’s experience feel like a stranger trying to be someone you already know.
Honestly, the way the game looks is comparable to a indieproducer working on a cashgrab.
My eyes watch and transmitt what I visually sensed by viewing the demo, my brain analyses and immediately draws a comparison to a cartoon, too clean, too colourfull and most certainly way too unrecognizable knowing what the previous games was like. The brutes in Halo 2 had better meshes and textures than the ones in the demo. These new look like Roblox characters.

This is underrated. Really. I almost didnt notice it. But there is still exceptions. But there isnt any clarity on those exceptions
Having viewed all the textures for the Master Chief in Bungie era Halo’s and seeing the 343i era model, I can tell you that despite the smaller image file size of the bungie era models, the textures had a wicked variety of shades and grittiness compared to 343i era textures which look like they airbrushed some areas, did some paints here and there and called it done.
My belief is that Bungie never intended halo to look cartoonish, but were simply held back by specs of their time.
Alot of people compare halo to call of duty and say “If you want realism, goto call of duty, halo was always suppose to be animated” To address that argument, I’ll refer to halo 3 and cod4, since seeing those titles released the same year.
Cod 4 has the same level of complexity of textures as halo 3. The difference is lighting mechanics. Cod4 has darker lighting causing their gritty textures to “pop” whilst halo 3 has brighter lighting to highlight their scenery. - Cod has the same general amount of polys in their models as well. - Conclusion? They’re generally the same in terms of “graphics”
Too me, this issue isn’t just the texture (I mean, the difference is night and day comparing halo 2 and anniversary) but also the lighting.
The models look too matt, we need some better reflections and gloss. I wouldn’t even mind if you used halo 3 or reach’s lighting. - They need to add speckles on their textures. They’re too perfect/uniform. Add more dirt or a filter over the textures. Add more color variation to the textures in those speckles. As it stands, I definitely agree, everything looks too rubbery/plastic.
I hope that there will be a bottom like halo mcc that you can change graphics to 2020 graphics version and switch to halo ce graphics version. if they do this, that’s a win win. everybody will love it.

I agree, for the face of the xbox you would think they would have something to show off all the new power

literally got on and played h3 with friends on MCC last night one of my buddies said “wow h3 looks so good comparison to infinite’s campaign debut.” I mean honestly even on their own waypoint article, it looks like the brutes are wearing legos for armor and the cliffs couldn’t possibly look any lazier they all look like the real-life Devils Postpile National Monument.
