Halo Forge is a cool feature that I’m sure all of us loved to use to make cool maps, creations, and sometimes just mess around in. I think the best example of this was Halo Reach’s Forge World. It allowed high level and low level creators to do make they wanted with ease. My hope for Halo Infinite is that it’s Forge mode allows the same ease of creativity for all Forgers to make whatever they want, keeping the same versatility from Reach’s Forge World. (Credit to LNG for the idea of this) Thoughts and opinions?
I definitely think that forge world is the most important part of the community, and we should have it easy for everyone to use. But a lot of the things holding back the best ideas is the ability to create it. So if they upped the learning curve, I would definitely be okay with that, because a lot of cool stuff would come from that.
I think the great thing with forge world was water. The ability to create water and death boundaries with or without it would allow people to make forge world and anything else along with it.
I just hope they make forge easy, fun to use like Reach and not as bad as H5’s forge.

I wouldn’t say H5’s is bad at all. Quite the opposite in fact. If you’re going to spend a great deal of time refining every detail H5 is perfect for that. It’s not nearly as accessible but if you master it you’re set. It’s like paint and photoshop. I still love paint but photoshop makes it easier to do larger scale things. Not to say you can’t make beautiful works of art with paint of course.
i think an option to swap between classic and modern would be super beneficial to the community and would be well received. Just not sure how doable it is though
While I do like Forge World, I sort of wish there were a few more Biome Maps Forge world was perfect for making Blood Gulch, Battle Creak, and other maps that had a daytime temperate environment, but I don’t think it was so good at maps like Lock Out, Avalanche, Turf, or any Ice, Covenant, or Urban style maps.
I want to see forge world but I would also like to see a few other maps such as
- A covenant ship so you could make maps like midship and damnation - An artic biome map so you could make maps Sidewinder and Containment - A City large scale map so you could make maps like Headlong, Turf, Even Terminal if possible.

Good point. I think you could have a Forge World that has all of this actually. What I mean is, have a variety of biomes within Forge World, like from one end you start with desert, then move to green, then move to snow at the other end. You could even have a city in one section and a shipyard in the other with a Covenant cruiser docked. Idk how hard that would be to make, but it’s something to think about.

Well not exactly, while the ultimate open world map might be a neat concept, I do think there are some limitations, the first thing that comes to mind is the skybox. Maybe a couple could be added such as having the covenant “truth and reconciliation” map where the covenant ship is over a night time desert, but that is about it for all the biomes in one map. One natural (forest, desert, arctic, jungle/swamp) one artificial (covenant ship, Forerunner structures, Human city). I think that is the most that could be fit in a forgeworld style supermap.
Late Night Gaming just released a video about Forge World, You can find it HERE.

Have to disagree. I find nothing good/fun about Halo 5’s forge whatsoever. It’s the first Halo forge where I stopped using it altogether. I’m all for learning new software’s since I have experience with Photoshop, Blender, Ue4 etc… and there fun to use while there are some software’s out there that I don’t like using like Crysis/Virtools. Just because something seems complicated…doesn’t make it easier in the long term or fun to use since any learning curve can seem awful regardless of how much time is spent using the software. Generally found Halo 5’s forge poorly designed, counter-productive and all it does for me is make me want to continue with my professional software than Forge, that’s sad mainly because Forge is meant to be fun, relaxing to use. I’d rather Infinite find a way to design the interface so it’s user friendly, fun to use in the long term. I might even go back to Forge in Reach when it comes to MCC because Reach’s forge was so much better in every single way.
Introduction: Many of us agree that What we most want is the best out of forge. like Objects, more scripts, more features, etc. But what most of us in the Forge community would demand to receive is Scriptable AI, Water Effects, Scripted Objects, including More Features (Animation Objects). I might explain How easy it could be done if they ever thought about it.
Water features: Just like in H5 that some objects are able to change the material is really theme usable. Id say that for any Big block size like the preference size one should be able to change the material to water. They can also do that by putting it in cromas ( might’ve misspelled it). Add textures that can be used for walls that water falls off. (can reduce physical loading/Less Loading)
Scriptable AI: scriptable AI should have their own Spawn Point separate from Us spartans and allow them to be edited in many w says. Of course, we all want them to be spawned at a certain time so it won’t crash the game (if all spawn at the same time). We want certain types of behavior of the individual AI to follow. Follow, Defend, Attack, Move, Secure, Take, Drive, etc. We want them to be able to Say certain lines so we get the idea for the audience/player to understand what is going on instead of a tag floating in the head. This could help with a lot of custom matches or help populate the game…
Scripted objects: People often like scripted objects like moving doors or other things that give a flow of the game, but imagine something that is easy to make by just spawning it in, We need more exclusive animation objects because the ones that were given were not so useful. Most of us don’t understand the use of the object or what to make it off from.
Moving Textures: Textures are great in H5, but we need more than that. We need the object to move so it can give a feeling of the player without using scripts of the object to cause it to move (this should reduce player script)
Must Need to return:
We love vehicles in the game, some games have a lot, some have a few. We want infinite to have all vehicles in the genre (first person shooter games, not HW1 or HW2) This should make the game more Usable for different possibilities. And god help us, Let us change the color of the vehicle, We don’t need different vehicles type of the same one. If infinite is still able to handle big things (engine) then suggest big vehicles like the pelican etc. trust me we all like passing the limit as long its playable.
Bring back all the guns in the genre (If you think it is not fair then don’t include it in multiplayer modes). People don’t care if it doesn’t make sense of its return but it will explain its self if its not in the campaign (don’t see it in the campaign then it isn’t lore towards it). Weapon wielding should return, and there is no reason why I should explain (create art with destruction).
I loved H4 Auto turret, When I first saw it I thought that this could change gameplay and it would be fun to create your defense in multiplayer. since there are no marines in multiplayer. When I bought H5 I didn’t see it and wondered why. Game developers don’t question if this would be good and it questions me why they haven’t.
If microtransactions is still in Halo infinite then why not use it to buy troops to bring into battle so as other things, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT FOR LOOT BOXES FOR ARMOR. There is no reason I should say that unless you have done it again.
H5 Remember Reach pack was absolutely dumb, People always tell me that it had to change the look because of lore reasons or matchmaking reasons. I love the default helmet in Reach and now it looks ugly in H5. That’s the reason why I went for the good looking Scout helmet because they reworked the design of it because they realized it looks ugly.
Bring challenges to give you extra points (Not experience). Have Daily, Weekly, monthly, and yearly challenges.
Suggestions:
Have a better clan system That is made for Xbox. Something like Discord but more usable.
Have more than 16 player fireteam.
Have a system to add bounties towards people you don’t like. Like Assassinations, But make it available only in Matches. (Don’t have it to be able to gain if in custom games, forge.)
Play with more/less option
Try having a third Spartan color option… or have material texture color (like Chrome. Rusted metal, Beaten metal.)
Allow the texture of the Visor to change like Cracked visor, Bullet holes,
Support Matchmaking even more
When selected in a match, Show their spartan look as H4 did.
Have more animations for the intro scene. Because it lost the value look. I liked the one were the players clapped each other hands or the 1V1 type in the Beta.
Make things difficult to get so players stay in the game longer.
If you think that the engine cant handles all of this then put separate games like separate Forge for those who don’t know how to forge but know how to play the multiplayer…
Don’t give a due date of the game until it is A month away from finished
Allow free DLC updates
Don’t make the game 60 dollars. Make it worth more so you don’t have to make Paid DLC or other things.
Conclusion
Remember, most of these things are already known to many 343i developers but if we keep asking it or at least say "reach armor or riot’ then they should really notice how important it is to us.
This is your game 343i make it last for another 10 years as Reach did.
The game is only important by the community’s trust and it will be earned back once this game is released
The game system is important to the fans, Not the graphics

I do have an idea how this could be done:
- Firstly they’d remove all water from basic canvas. (That way we never have to deal with being killed by water) - Add in box volume (Could be used for anything from water, etc…) - Then they could add custom water effects using a simple plane above the volume.1 more thing I would love is a terrain editor similar to Jurassic World Evolution but something more drastic like UE4 where we can create mountains and use multiply materials to paint the terrain.

Good point

As someone who used to use Photoshop all the time and then tried going back to it eight years later only to fail miserably at its controls, all I can say is… Please, 343i change the Forge controls back to the natural scheme used in Halo 3, Reach, 4 and H2A. Halo 5’s isn’t worth the frustration.
I still have hope for Photoshop, but in Halo, I just want to have fun. The main problem is that its editor controls are far too different from the player controls. That was never the case in any other iteration of Forge.
the Controls need to be more like halo Reach Halo 5 guardians controls are way to hard for me they need to be easy!!
Halo 5 Guardians forge maps were way to small
It was an absolute beast in Reach (and one of my favorite things of it) but now I don’t see it necessary as you now have the same forge potential with each map and can build your own terrain. Hell, I swear I saw a vid where a guy remade the forge world using H5’s forge world

The liquid volumes described in this thread would be just what we need: Halo Infinite Forge Requests I’ve never really understood the want for Forge World after Halo 5’s Forge was released. With the amount we can do currently and hopefully will be able to do in Forge moving forward, Forge World is simply redundant.

I agree one hundred percent. Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary all had the same intuitive controls. It didn’t take much time to learn them because they were designed in a way that came naturally to the players. As many amazing options as Halo 5 has introduced to Forge, it has failed tremendously with its awkward, difficult and outright awful control scheme.
The Forge we know is tacked onto an ageing / creaking game engine that is apparently very difficult to work with. It’s amazing it can do what it does.
I can’t imagine how much better the new Forge could be… now that it is being co-developed alongside the brand new Slipspace engine.
I really can’t wait to see what the community can do…
so long as it’s playable offline then I’d be happy but that’s not going to happen
