I don’t know if I am a complete idiot or I’m missing something here but experimenting with forge this last hour my experience has been extremely frustrating.
I’m now looking into the scriptable buttons, and for the life of me I don’t know how to edit any of the text fields (Specifically in this case all of the options under “Internal Channels” and “External Channels”). On keyboard and mouse, whenever I click on one of these options (Receiving Control Channel Name, for example) the entire Object Properties window just get greyed out. I try typing and nothing happens. The only thing I can do at this point is click again or press escape to revert the Object Properties menu back to its original state (not darkened/greyed out). The same thing happens when I attempt to modify/type in these fields on controller. It seems clear that I am either supposed to be able to type here with a keyboard, or a keyboard is meant to pop up for those using controller, but neither will happen. I have restarted several times and started a brand new map and nothing I do seems to work.
I have the same issue when trying to add a value in the node graph view. I’ve been doing some basic script testing, such as having a button damage the player, and I’ve literally had to use a fusion coil’s health value as the damage value because I’m unable to enter any sort of value into variables!
I don’t know if I’m missing something obvious or if forge is just entirely broken here, but any insight would be much appreciated as I have been eagerly awaiting the release of forge for quite some time now and really want to start testing some of the ideas I’ve come up with in the past year. I’m pretty disappointed by this and other minor issues such as performance issues, freezing, extreme frame drops, and spontaneous loss of controller stick controls. Has anyone else been experiencing anything like this? Can anyone please help?
