Halo Infinite Flighting confirmed

Sometimes doing a simple google search can reveal the most astonishing results…no beta but flighting is happening.

Not a reliable article. Very much cut and paste… it still has a paragraph about how 343 are still on track despite COVID!

The article does state everything we know so far or maybe COVID disappeared overnight. it was literally just published 6 days ago. mind this is the same company that had the article about day/night realism based on location for the campaign which was later confirmed by other sources.

I’m pretty sure flighting has been confirmed for a while. They intended to have a flight and insisted that every Halo game would now have a flighting program. But given the situation 343 has been put into, the Campaign Evolved news drop after the reveal of the gameplay premiere gives us a red flag about public flighting. While yes, smaller focus groups have gone and played the game to provide feedback, 343 said that their plans(at the time) for broader, more MCC-esque flighting are “not quite where we expected to be in terms of broader public flighting” and arent the full program they envisioned. At the time of that article, they said that their teams are still assessing for opportunities for public flighting before the launch.

So yes, flighting is confirmed. People have given feedback to the game. But no, the flighting most people think of where people are sent requests to join a certain flight to test and larger, broader groups of people are asked for their feedback haven’t happened, and plans to make it happen don’t seem set in stone before launch. Which, frankly, I don’t think that if they even were set in stone that they’d carry out with that plan now that they delayed the game. 343 is probably working to make a public flight work in some way, but it isn’t clear when or even if that will take place before launch. I’ll wait for the day we see a dev update that gives us more info about a flight.

Fair enough…at least you weren’t disregarding the post as fake despite PCGamer being around for a LONG time.

Wasn’t disregarding as ‘fake’.

But it’s a very poorly edited article. It looks like they have taken an old article, added some new stuff at the top, and reposted it - hence the recent date.

A lot of the content, like the ‘COVID update’, is probably not relevant any more.

It’s something a lot of these big consumer sites do a lot.

Hopefully it isn’t a stressful process. That we can get it early enough to give feedback on but not extend the process to test the patience of the community

The parts where they quote 343 are from before COVID-19. 343 themselves haven’t said lately if there will be flighting. They did say after the gameplay dropped that they may not be able to provide flighting. This article isn’t bad, it’s just got some outdated info.

There’s also no direct quote regarding the ‘Flighting’ and the closest link goes to the FB page, where there is an article regarding MCC flighting, but not Infinite.

Good find OP, but the article is poorly put together by someone who hasn’t done their homework.

Rest assured, if 343 is planning any flighting for Infinite, right here is the first place it will be announced (or someone like big Philly Spence will drop the bomb in a live stream and 343 will have an article ready to go shortly after).

Like others have stated, that’s a poorly edited article. Some of it is pre Covid with links going back over two years. As for flighting, I imagine it will happen at some point, especially with the game being delayed. As always, I’ll wait for 343i to officially confirm dates before believing.

“Halo Infinite’s testing period will primarily take place on Xbox, at least at first, as it’s the platform 343 Industries is most familiar with.”

Halo started with console let’s keep it alive and equal with PC thank you very much.

It’s only confirmed if its confirmed on Waypoint.

I hope so, the Halo 5 beta did wonders for the final release. Halo 4 did not have a beta and look what happened.

pc gamer are a joke, have been for years, they do one of these “everything we know sofar” pages for many upcoming AAA games. They then update the page many times but repeat the same old news…as if it’s all brand new info.

it would be cool if flighting began at the end of the year…one epic thing to round off an otherwise dumpster fire of a year. (well for gamers anyway) a vacine for the world be the other.
