Judging by the flight picks, it’s safe to assume that they are more focused on appeasing minecraft/Fortnite players. Kind of how music artists sell out and start targeting 12 year old girls. Can’t lie, I’m just a tad bit salty, but that’s not the reason for this post. The reason I am posting is because of the comments I’ve been reading from veteran players/ avid 343 and bungie fans that have been shafted. This is a flight to test bots… And they have picked an overwhelming amount of new players (probably many of them have never even played a first person shooter at all), and these new players to halo, are supposed to understand how a bot should perform at a competitive level? Smh. Sorry to all the vets that didn’t get picked, especially to those who have beta/flight tested in the past and provided feedback. Their emails strictly say, actively participating in flights (which also means giving feedback) will have a greater chance of participating in the future. What a lie. Sorry vets, its the way of the world these days, participation trophies are handed out and world class Olympic athletes are penalized for being too good. Why should 343 be any different?
Bro I’ve been playing halo since one of my first memories as a kid, right around the age you actually become conscious. I’ve played through all halos besides 5 on console seeing as I switched from xbox 360 to ps4. Now I’m a PC player, with no clout at all, and still managed to get in somehow along with my boy on console who’s currently in the military. We literally just signed up as soon as we heard about there being a closed beta and let me tell you we didn’t hear about that for a fat min cause we busy. Quit being butthurt, and ofc some people with clout are gonna get keys over you it’s a business guy.
No need to be like that dude, it’s not the best attitude. They have picked people based on a myriad of criteria and maybe part of their focus is getting input from less experienced players. It’s important for them to collect the data they need to give a good and balanced experience for the final product for everyone. The gametype here is social and the bots are easy level, it’s clearly more geared towards casual players.
That being said I have been chosen and I’m a huge Halo veteran. Played the original Halo on PC, have the original Halo 2 Xbox disc, have owned multiple copies of Halo 3 which I had to replace as they became damaged from overuse I think (well one was broken because my cousin suplexed me through my Xbox by accident). Microsoft sent me an email before telling me I’d clocked over 10,000 hours on it. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was double that in all honesty. Maybe I was just chosen because I have an Xbox Series X, maybe my region, none of us know. All we know is we need to test the game as much as possible this weekend.
I’m very excited, even if silver bots will be too easy. If I wasn’t chosen I’d be watching the streams and YouTube videos all weekend on it to see everything it has to offer. You might be invited to the next flight which should feature more PVP than this one so get excited for that bro and be positive. I trust 343 to make a great game, the full gameplay yesterday was great and I can’t wait.

You have no base to make these claims outside of feeling upset you didn’t get picked. You are using confirmation bias to come to your conclusions which is a very dangerous way of trying to logically think. They are trying to get server data. This isn’t a full release.

41 year-old Halo veteran here and I got picked…
Yea it sucks but who knows how they’re picking people. One of my friends got in and 3 of us did not.
I’ve been playing halo since it came out in 2001 so no they are not just inviting fortnight kids. I’m excited to see how to game feels and plays. I’ll make sure to give them my feedback being a Halo veteran.
Glad to see there’s more vets like me who saw that comment and were like wtf I got invited and I’m no Halo noob lmao. Just wanted to message ya’ll seeing as you’re prob up to date on the infinite info more than me. If we got into this closed beta, is it safe to assume we’ll also get into the other betas in the future where we can actually get some pvp social games, or we gonna have to sign up again and hope we get lucky again?
I think they said even if you are in the first flight doesn’t mean you will be in others. They also said after this one they will increase the numbers so you will have an even higher chance of getting in the next flight. So not guaranteed but a higher chance.

I think we will still have a high chance of being selected again since we can inform them on possible changes and how we feel about them. They are also doing a larger batch next time.
this 1st flight is the smallest one as far as population people who got an invite. As each flight goes on more and more people will be allowed to play and with each flight more things will be open so if their was a flight to miss IMO it would be this one i wouldnt worry about it too much. But yes it sucks but thats how it goes…

i’m also a ‘halo vet’ and got in. its really just luck and added with a amount of time you’ve been an insider I guess. my brother who has not done a single flight also got in the halo infinite flight. it’s really just luck my friend and having the specs they want to test on PC and Xbox. Probably not too interested in testing to see how it runs on a 3090 but an 1060.
You just have to be patient, we will all get to the game till the end of the year anyway.
Now it’s about calibrations and it’s important: be like a turian about it.

appreciate ya man
I have been playing Halo since I was legit 1 years old. Sounds crazy but its true. I’m currently 20 years old which means Halo came out months after I was born. My dad was a average gamer so he bought an Xbox along with Halo and he said I always played it when I was younger. Everytime a new game would come out I’d play get it and play it and love it. So you’d could say I’ve been playing Halo all my life and that’s probably why I was chosen. I opted in to be a Halo Insider 2 weeks ago so I’m not sure how I wasn’t on the bottom of the list. If anyone reads this don’t look at your emails waiting to find the Flight Invite. You’ll get a message here on Halo Waypoint saying if you got in, that’s the best way to know if you can play!
Has anyone received their flight keys yet? I got the initial email but nothing after
Like many others who have responded. I’ve been playing since halo ce came out on the og xbox. My friend rented it from like blockbuster or hastings or something. I was hooked since day 1. 30 now and I have been a halo insider for over a year. I also have an xbox series x which probably added to the reason I was picked. I have many friends who did not get picked and will be hosting halo infinite tech preview party at my house. Easy as that. We all get to play now. Don’t cry. Just know multiple people will be streaming this game. Heck, maybe even I will. And at the end of the weekend, the slate is wiped clean, so it’s not too bad to miss out this time around.
They went through over 100,000 mails and had to send out flights to people. I got mine and i wont be able to play hopefully on monday at the latest. Dont be emotionally dumping you’re opinion. Im sure you would have a different attitude if you got in. There will be more flights with more and more people. Just chill and wait.
