Halo Infinite Review

I’m really excited to see what’s in store for the full version of the game but am also afraid of what’s going to be there at launch if assassinations aren’t in but besides that let’s get into what I thought about the tech preview.

GRAPHICS
The artstyle is perfect, definitely killed it this time and love the real gritty military style reach had brought back to life with this rendition. Would like to see a little more small details added along with problems:
<ul class=“ul1”> - Legs of Spartans get dirty in muddy area. - Smoke coming out the muzzle of guns and also off of surfaces you are near just like in 2019 Modern Warfare. - More destructive environments like in the bazar map. - Sparks fly off of shooting a Spartan when shields are broken into. - Film grain option for a cinematic feel, can be turned off at start of game naturally. Could also look great in campaign. - A bit more blood when shot, and keep the T rating. Maybe this is already added as the gameplay trailer you guys revealed showed a lot of blood come out when shot without shields but if it’s not there that would be amazing. - Customization for UI color as in HUD. - Customization for ammo counter on weapons. - When reloading certain weapons the camera gets jittery along with running sometimes. - Anti aliasing could be a bit better but not too bad at all. - Pelican flight pattern is clearly not done but hopefully on release it’s fleshed out. - When on 120 Field of view you can see through your hip. - Shooting water makes a better splash, all around improve the water as it seems super flat and not realistic.[/list]
These are pretty nit picky but there’s a community that loves to look into small details developer’s put into their work and it would be amazing to see in halo which I’ve already seen with the footprints you added already and also when weapons & grenades hit the ground they make an effect.

GAMEPLAY
I thought the gameplay all around was great and balanced especially with the pistol being the main gun that beats all like in Halo 5 currently. Sprint is definitely fixed and the gunplay feels great, here are some things I would like to be added:
<ul class=“ul1”> - More halo 3 equipment as like the trip mine, power drain, regeneration field. - Drop both weapon option and go to fists only which you guys have an animation for punching already. - Gravity hammer blows things back way more ! - Reduce the AR headshot damage by a little bit. - Make the deployment for the shield a bit quicker along with the throw distance. - Reduce the reload speed of the pistol by a few milliseconds but definitely not needed. - More physics on objects - Halo 3 sloop jumping that propels you forward, not sure if this was in game but if not then it would be a nice touch.[/list]
MAPS
The maps felt perfect to me and nicely designed for 4V4 but am hoping for some pretty big maps like Valhalla. I love the details put in Bazzar and hope ALLL maps get this level of detail and destruction to environments also the addition of chickens running around was nice making it feel lively which would be nice on all maps to have some type of animal life passing by or present.
I know we have UNSC weapons spawn pads but are there other versions ?? As in covenant or banished styled spawn pads ??
Other than this nit picky stuff the maps felt balanced and very competitive, the maps felt brand new except for the all metal map but I’m hoping we have more realistic maps like bazzar in the mix.

CUSTOMIZATION
I definitely love the customization all around but wish there was a few things added to it and things I didn’t like:
<ul class=“ul1”> - weapon charms would be cool along with color unlocks for your ammo counter on all guns. - Hand gesture would be cool but also wouldn’t feel like halo and probably have people compare it to call of duty but still would be cool in my opinion. - Armor attachments like in reach where you add tactical equipment to your helmets and stuff, feel like this is already in game but not sure as of yet. - Reticle customization, maybe throw in the old halo reticles so some people wouldn’t complain about new ones and get a bit of nostalgia feeling to em.[/list]GLITCHES
There was very few glitches I ran into but here are a couple I’ve came across:
<ul class=“ul1”> - Being killed while in sniper scope keeps the reticle on screen in death screen animation. - Sliding makes me see through legs. - Bots would glitch out and not do anything or go crazy and look up and down. - Games crashed 2 times for me in the metal map, forgot the name. - Screwer would land the shot but not kill the opponent even though I can see the spear in the body. - Menus wouldnt show pictures where pictures should be. - Armor hall wouldn’t load sometimes and showed a background of a warehouse with the table for weapon customization in the middle just there. - Rag doll physics glitching out here and there.[/list]
Well that concludes this review of my opinion on the flight, I know most of these issues maybe will be fixed already by now or somethings might be added that we don’t know about but as of rightnow this is how I feel about everything.
The game is MINDBLOWING already and can’t wait for official release to try out that campaign, keep up the good work 343 and I’ll be on the look out for the next flight !!
