Halo Infinite Flight Feedback

I’m going to provide my feedback in bullet points, each addressing what I think should be changed after my time during all three flight weekends

Before I begin complaining, I have to say this game is so much fun to play and with a few more tweaks it could be neck and neck with Halo 3 for being my favourite Halo MP to play.

I’ve waited so long for another Halo game like this and I’m so glad to see it. Thank you for all the work on this game, 343i. Seeing a dev company listen to feedback and implement it is incredible.

Movement, gunplay, map layout, soundtrack, sound design, graphics, lighting and art style are exceptionally good. If things keep going this way, with the implementation of the communities feedback, I hope that Halo can come back to the fore front of the gaming community again.

Now back to the feeback lmao

  • Add a progression system to the game, I don’t mind challenges being there too, but people like to see what level other players are. It provides an extra reason to keep playing - Bring back the old kind of goofy but fun physics previous Halo games had. This engine has so much potential and it’d be even better with the classic Halo physics approach - Teammate player collision needs to be brought back - The chest pieces we unlock should take on the armour coating colour scheme, and not just be gunmetal gray all the tome. It kind of defeats the purpose of these coatings, unless this has already been addressed in the newer build - Regarding the H.U.D, please put the gun and ammo counter back up in the top right, and please display all 4 grenade types on the H.U.D rather than showing one type, and hiding the other. Having to scroll between grenade types to see what you have is a downgrade - Allow customisation of the H.U.D layout - Flag carrier should kill players with a single melee, not two melees - The sniper ADS and overall gunplay needs to be reworked to feel like the previous snipers, there’s something off about it - When hip firing the sniper, the first round should be dead centre perfect accuracy. Not some weird stray shot like in Halo 2 - Give the gravity hammer more effect in physics and the sandbox we play in - The warthog turret needs a sound redesign, it sounds like an SMG in comparison to other previous games, also bring back the O.G horn - Vehicles feel a little flimsy and result in a quick death but that could be everyone just feeling new to them since we had last flight to get used to gunplay - Rework the gravity hammer sound design to sound similar to Halo 3, O.D.S.T and Reach’s sound effect - Rework the Needler again to sound a little more crystalline, and also the needles used to whistle in the air in previous games. Add that too - Plasma grenade doesn’t sound like previous plasm grenades when it is initially thrown and sticks to something. There used to be this click and activating sound which was either a warning, or what told you that you were pretty much stuck and dead. It would slowly wind up and explode then. Please bring this back - The grenades are lacking particle effects for showing the aftermath of their explosion. E.g smoke for frags, residual vapour for plasma grenades e.t.c - Make a couple changes to the BR reload animation, it seems too quick and fluid. Feels like it was sped up for gameplay reasons_Feel free to add your own feedback here on what you thought should be changed. Also let me know if I’m mistaken about any of these issues I have :]_

Completely forgot to mention this, but the PLASMA PISTOL EMP needs to be brough back. You’ve basically made the gun redundant

Personally, I didn’t have any issues with how the HUD was, and I didn’t play enough to really test how the vehicles were since I joined on the last day. However, I really agree with you about the sniper. It’s aim feels really weird when you’re trying to hit a moving target. Like it was a bit tougher than normal to hit a moving target with the sniper. Maybe they need to add a slight aim assist to make it more like the other Halo snipers? I’m not sure.

If you’re playing on controller, turn the movement and aiming deadzone down to zero. That really helped me with the controls feeling a little better, but there’s still something weird about the sniper. Maybe it needs some getting used to?

Absolutely agree with the above, had a couple other things to add from my experience.

-Multiple times in multiple games I would have to reload my weapons twice in a row.

-Multiple times after clambering up I would find myself back on the ground with my screen showing the opposite direction,
usually would correct after the next clamber up but sometimes would do the same thing and get me killed.

-Bot arena multiplayer was far too easy, always ended with a steaktacular regardless of what team I was with.
The training mode I felt was perfect, Spartan difficulty was tough.

-Cant agree more about the Plasma pistol, needs to at least EMP again, could use a little more tracking.

-Found myself unable to equip new gear after I leveled up in the battle pass, had to quit the app and go back in to equip.

-The aim did feel very different, had to adjust many times. But I think I have it set pretty good now, wouldn’t mind a small assist to aiming but its not bad.

-Shotguns in the game need to get a little buff, found myself not grabbing them when they are supposed to be “power weapons”.

-There was one game on Live Fire where I could see through the map floor completely, the game still performed well and everything in that match though.

-All in all I am very pleased with the gameplay so far, well done 343i.
