Experiencing my first Halo Infinite Flight Test on the PC was fantastic, the soundtrack to the detailed in-game menu had me immersered right away. Before the multiplayer went live I had to change the graphics and control settings which led to farely smooth 60 fps as well as the feel of playing a Spartan. The first issues I have noticed was the flickering of the entire screen to just the shadows themselves flickering, on average I had the FPS of 40 to 67 when not many people are around or explosions going off. In the main menu connected to a fireteam or finishing a game with your fireteam breaks the customization menu to where you are unable to select any customization options with the select icon giving a loading circle eternally. The only fix that I have found is to restart the game, customize your spartan then join a party. Now with the Battle Pass, I understand the multiplayer will be free to play especially not requiring Xbox Live on Steam, this is huge. Would like to see more ways like in MCC to earn credits to buy store items, even if its a grind.
A graphical or UI suggestion I would like to see is to be able to change the color of Friend or Foe on the radar, changing my team to red then having red dots was quite confusing even though the enemy team is blue so blue dots on my radar. Every Halo game Red dots on radar means bad people.
Besides the flickering of shadows and the entire screen plus the FPS dropping to 40, the gameplay is like my childhood Nostalgia became polished with a fresh way of PvP. The gameply felt like Halo Reach, equipment mechanics exactly like Halo 3, and the art style of Halo 4. Personally I enjoyed Halo 4. The point is, the multiplayer felt like a combinations, the everything that was fun in Halo CE to Halo 4 and Fusion Card it into Halo Infinite. I have beaten the lates Spider-Man game on the PS4, and I loved it, so the grapple hook was on par with Spider-Man. A 990 lbs swinging Mecha Spider off of the enemy base raining down leads of justice with a MA5D Assult Rifle. Never gets old, seriously, I can not wait for Co-op to swing around with friends. It will be fantastic. The force push equipment is so reliable, example, used the force push, launched a fusion coil towards an entrance where the Blue team just flooding out, the fusion coil detonated right on top of 3 Spartans putting red team in the lead.
Now let’s talk about the drop shield. Honestly the most useles item, upon placing the item down the activation of the shield has a major delay, you have to set it up way before the enemy shows up. The shields can be shot down farely quickly with starting weapons. In comparison the Bubble Shield from Halo 3 will protect you faster and last longer than this drop shield. Upon landing on the ground the shoulds needs to be instant, should not be able to shoot through your own shield, increase shields strength by 50% or more.
Using the controller on the the PC Flight test has a strong aim assist, may need to descrease it or have an option if not already for Keyboard and mouse users to increase their aim assist strength. Then the vehicles, at least using the controller while driving a Puma in the air, too much control to land perfectly, just feels wierd to have that much control in air more so than Tony Hawk. I do enjoy the Vehicle rag doll physics in Halo 3 or Reach.
My overall experience was EPIC, the movement of running is smooth as butter especially the fact your SHIELDS regenerate while running. I love this, it keeps the gameplay moving with less stops of waiting for them to recharge while hiding. The weapons sounds and gameplay are addicting. The Battle Rifle feels like a hands on, extremely polished Halo 2 E3 Demo Battle Rifle. Difficult to put into words on how this made me feel, as if I was playing the Demo upon seeing Halo 2 released before my childish eyes, Again it felt like a Halo Nostalgia sandbox that added more fun toys to play with. I have very excited for the release, the majoy dissapointing thing right now, is that there is no Legendary Edition, at least not yet. Halo needs it, even the steel book editon is not that hype worthy of getting or pre ordering. I love Halo and would love to see 343 come out with a true bundle not just a console bundle which comes with steel book codes from Walmart or Best Buy. Besides the marketing, Gameplay 8/10, major improvement from Halo 5. Fix out the bugs and please let this story be fantastic with a damn legendary edition. This Halo game will be THE HALO if they manage these bugs, marketing, also upcoming Forge and Co-op. Please Bring in Split Screen. I love it and will be getting the full game, if you read this far, I thank you for reading. I left my PC Specs at the bottom and what i used to play.
