Bruh this thread is so 2012 its not even funny. Basically the thread itself is oudated
Regardless, this is just pathetic. 343i has had so many missteps, so many mistakes, that people are looking back at their previous screwups and thinking “golly gee Halo 4 best Halo game” lol.
OP and probably tens of thousands of gamers don’t really understand or have ever felt the Halo magic so to speak. They look at Halo 5 or Halo 4 like peak Halo and ignore the Gucci games of the series like Halo 1-3.
“But look at the graphics and the more weapons and the more armors and the more vehicles! They are obviously better !”
~~says the young gamer that is essentially being entertained by bright colors and jingling keys, rather than compelling story and gameplay.
This whole “outdated game” argument is getting old.
It’s not 2015 anymore, the advanced movement hypetrain is gone. I was never a fan of copying elements from other Franchises to begin with - this argument was always brought up by people back then. Most FPS these days rely on basic movement, some of them with / without sprint, clamber, grapples & a few elements depending on the game - that’s it.
By this logic, Counter Strike, Valorant, COD, Battlefield, Fortnite, Rainbox Six Siege, PUBG and many more are outdated too because you don’t have to rely on pressing 3 buttons at the same time for various jumps.
Talking about H4 specifically, gameplay wise (imo) it is by far the worst in the series. I’d rather play Infinite in it current state, than H4.
I’ve been saying it for years and I’ll say it again. Halo 4 has the best multiplayer in the series. Sure the story wasn’t as good as Reach, or 3, but the multiplayer is amazing. It’s such a shame that the original servers have been retired, because MCC is still missing some of the loadout packages, and there’s no custom games for the browser.
Too many people are blinded by nostalgia.
I’ve played every halo game as they came out except 5 because I moved to PC by that time.
I played Halo 3 at it’s peak, it does not hold up anymore. Simple game mechanics with simple gameplay is boring. Some people might like it because they liked it in the past, not everyone. That doesn’t make halo 4 a bad game or halo 3 a good game.
Too many people here are missing the point of my original post.
Halo Infinite feels completely outdated due to feeling overly simplistic and buggy. It’s not fun. Whether you like Halo 4 or not, by comparison, Halo 4 is a more modern game which makes it more fun. Whether you like Halo 4 or not is irrelevant.
And no, just because it has a jump mechanic, guns, and a crosshair does not make it CoD.
Halo 4 is bad but every game is mentioned IS outdated. I want to play something new. Something interesting. Not the same formula over and over again in another game. Halo 5 was the natrual evolution of combat. Any advanced shooter out there is below Halo 5. Halo 5 is the game that did “advanced movement” right
Dig through my Waypoint post history if you must. I have been very consistent over the years regarding my stance on Halo 4. I’ve spoken my praise for Halo 4 even long before people started coming around, and suddenly saying “it wasn’t so bad”, or “Halo 4 was pretty good”. I have always loved Halo 4 and always will.
Swinging on the grapple isn’t nearly as advanced as the many options you had with Halo 5s movement. While in Titanfall you are a static object moving really fast. Where as in halo 5 you can move anywhere you to at any given time because the stabilize and ground pound hover can slow movement and the thruster can push you into a different direction while doing these hovers.
Again, it’s not. You’re biased towards H4 for whatever reason and claim it’s modern when it’s quite frankly a perfect example of what was modern 10 years ago.
HI isn’t necessarily more modern or less modern (we don’t have a clear definition of what makes a game modern at the moment unlike in the early 2010s when everyone wanted to be CoD), it just doesn’t follow design principles from 10 years ago.
Still a static object when moving really fast. Doesn’t matter wether you are wall running, sliding or grappling. You can’t turn on a dime like in halo 5 and then do it continuously while being in an arena game with equal starts on small maps ment for arena play.
Titanfall and Halo 5 are not the same in any way. Your concept of “fast” and “advanced” is not the same as mine that’s for sure. Because all shooters are slow. Qauke is fast. Halo 5 is fast. That’s pretty much about it.
What’s funny is that I grew up with classic Halo but consider Halo 5 peak Halo in terms of gameplay. That Halo magic argument really needs to get thrown out the window
