Halo Infinite Feedback

Not sure why the feedback threads were locked. I was hoping to share some thoughts I had. I know these are a little late but thought I would share anyway. Please let me know if this needs to be moved.

Overview
Overall, the game is very fun and is pretty tight considering there has not been any wide spread outside testing and an old build. There are some great bones but many kinks still need to be worked out. Including:

Movement
• Unresponsive and floaty
• Feels “stop and go” rather than smooth.
• There is a considerable delay from pressing slide and seeing character slide

Aiming Controller
• Aiming is very jerky. It feels like there isn’t enough ramp-up before acceleration kicks in. Dead zones don’t appear to fix this.
• All weapon zooms need to be reset so they match 1:1 with non-zoomed speed. As it is now, you have to guess to return zoom aiming speed to the same as non-zoomed. Even if the default is 0.8, the user should know that 1.0 is the exact same as non-zoomed.
• Add back in axial and radial dead zones.
• Explain in greater detail how dead zones and acceleration work.

Aiming mouse and keyboard
• Feels slightly underwater
• Not clear what mouse magnetism does
• I prefer M/K on MCC so this one is strange.

Audio/Visuals
• No equipment pickup animation
• Shields breaking should be more obvious in terms of visual and perhaps audio too.
• Shield hits should be in a different color than the outline color.
• Hit marker sounds too low.
• Enemies/bots need to have call signs or Gamertags visible at all times. Hard to tell which one has taken damage with the outline system.
• Hard to hear/feel what gun you are being shot with until after death
• Audio and video cue when YOUR shield is popped is not clear.
• Medals are too small.
• Medals should use old colors when possible.
• Needler super combine effect is weak (sound and visual)
• Grenade explosions are underwhelming
• Remove points on-screen when kills or assists (at least the option to).

Balance
Needler - Way too strong, especially at close range. Should have min distance to active needles tracking feature. Overpowered in general. Can’t tell that the enemy has one until too late. Not clear how to counter it.
Skewer - Has weird delay when being fired no scope.
Sniper rifle – Feels heavy. The outer reticle when zoomed in is distracting. Shoots too slow. Change 1.5X zoom sensitively from 1.0 to 1.3 standard. (or just make it the same speed as your non-zoomed aim.
Sidekick – Bloom needs to be removed. Reduce ammo capacity to account for greater gun accuracy.
Pulse carbine – the auto-tracking of the shots is inconsistent. They either have perfect tracking or they just miss. The weapon needs to be reworked. Removing tracking and increase the fire rate would help. Make strong against shields but weak against flesh.
Ravager – The weapon is too strong for its class. Needs to be a full-blown power weapon or make it a 3 shot kill.
Assault rifle - Range too great. Increase damage drop-off or increase bloom when full auto.
Plasma pistol – Has issues with its tracking.
Grenades - Too forgiving with placement. They tend to “stick” to your feet when they should bounce past if not thrown correctly. Too easy to throw one once you start losing a fight to come back. Should be used pre-emptively.
• General - TTK is too fast.
Melee - Lunge initiates from way too far of a distance.

UI
• White text on black strains the eyes in menus.
• Font used hurts the eyes.
• Having settings in the bottom right is not ideal
• Menu layout is not ideal. Settings in the bottom right only.
• Still have no idea how to change call sign or banner.
• Add a confirm or apply button. That way it feels more like the changes are being made instead of backing out. Particularly with video settings.
• Reticle color change needs to be present and clear when in range for aim assist and when not.
• Should be able to press a button to see what happened in the last firefight. EX: how much damage you did VS enemy and show how many people shot you. (Similar to Valorant)

Customization
• Armor coating system is way too confining. The user must be able to create their own coating instead of solely relying on premade ones. You made still offer unique colors on unique coatings for unlocks but there should be a large set of base colors that the user has to create their own coating. It would make customization 1000X better and more personal.
• Armor core. Not yet fully explained but more customization if we are allowed to match any helmet, shoulder, body, etc with each other. Always better if more is customizable and less is curated.
