At its core, halo infinite is a good game, but there are things that need to be changed in order for it to be great. Ill try to organize this the best i can.
XP/progession: XP and progression is the main thing holding this game back, ITS SO GOD AWFUL SLOOOWWWWW and makes playing the game not fun/rewarding long term. Here is how I would fix it:
Make challanges give more XP, both weekly and daily, weekly in particular should give way more.
Change the daily auto refill complete games challange to be 1 game to complete each time,
maaaaaaybe 2 once ya get past daily 15 or so, but no more than 2.
Give us mode spesific playlists for arena, or at least make slayer its own playlist, sense some challenges
require specific gamemodes like getting flag caps.
Add DOUBLE XP WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS. this would help SO MUCH and be very well loved, double XP
weekends are fondly remembered, and for good reason sense it helps people who have less free time
progress at a reasonable rate
this would be on top of a general XP gain increase, and could maybe be done by just giving everyone a
bunch of double XP boosts for these events if the team needs to hack something together fast.
Make more of the battlepass items free, right now you can only unlock about 20-25% of the battlepass
for free, and a huge chunk of that just challenge swaps and XP boosts, so very few customization
unlocks.
I am aware this iissue is likley partly due to choices that are out of the dev teams hands, so just do the
best ya can guys, I dont blame you, I blame your corperate bosses.
REMOVE BEING ABLE TO BUY BATTLEPASS LEVEL UPS. Seriously, get rid of this, it makes progressing
legit feel even more wrothless on top of the horrible grind when poeple who have more cash than you
can just get everything on day one.
Like the issue directly above this one, im aware this being in is at least partly out of the dev teams hands,
just do what ya can guys.
Weapons: Overall, I like the weapons, the BR75 sounds AWESOME, and the team did great rebalancing the disruptor and shock rifle after the flight, but there are some issues:
The Hydra, this weapon is the biggest issue in the sandbox, cuz its so useless. Its reload and fireing are
way to slow, on top of the homing missiles not having strong enough tracking and damage. Honestly this
thing is totally outclassed by the Cindershot (DONT nerf the cindershot its fine). To fix this, I would do
some combination of buffing the fire rate, reload rate, missile tracking, and making the homing missiles
kill in 3 shots. Honestly sides maybe the tracking how the hydra was in halo 5 would work very well in
Infinite.
The Plasma Pistol. This Weapon is also basically useless, but not as bad as the hydra. Sense it no longer
EMPs vehicles, that being relegated to the shock weapons, the plasma pistol needs to stand on its own
and/or work as a combo weapon, neither of which it does well. The tracking is so weak that an enemy
spartan can dodge it by just walking in a strait line perpendicular to the shooter, you can clearly see this
in its weapon drill. This needs to be buffed A LOT, as well as the non charged shot damage, its so pitiful
you basically can only use the plasma pistol for the noob combo. I suggest the team boot up MCC and
play around with the HALO CE Plasma Pistol, thats a very good baseline to work from to improve this.
The Dynamo grenade. This thing is too strong. Being able to carry too of them means you can really just
bully any vehicle into oblivion, and the damage it does to shields is a little high. I would change it so
a spartan can only carry 1 at a time, making missing hurt more like it did with the halo 3 power drain,
which the dynamo is very similar too.
The sniper rifle. Please remove the bullet spread when fired unscoped, or at the very least make the
unscoped reticle reflect the spread. Hitting no scopes is always an awesome moment because its very
hard but fair random spread makes it unfair.
The stalker rifle. Im honestly not sure what role this weapon is meant to fill, as the sniper and chock rifle
both 1 hit kill on headshot, but this does not. An inside infinite section explaining what role the weapon
is meant to play, and if necessary a rebalance, are needed.
The needler. has the tracking weakness issue the plasma pistol has, again can be seen in the same way
in the training range. Make the tracking stronger, performance wise thats the only issue. now on a
personal note, I know the team already changed the sound to make it more crystaline, but imo that needs to be cranked up even more, make the weapon sound powerful and distinct, halo 4's needler sound was PERFECT and is a good point of reference.
Vechiles: I like the new doomsday alarm and modualr damage, but vechiles have one big uisse, they dont have enough health, they so squishy and this leads to no-one wanting to use them:
In particular, the wasp, banshee, wraith and scorpion dont have enough health, heck the scorpion only
has about as much health as a warthog in halo 3 in my experience. Said tank just needs a flat out health
buff, but weak shields for the wraith, banshee, and wasp are an option if thats easier for the team,
similar to the shields the banshee had in halo 5.
BTB: overall I like btb, but there is are 2 issuse I do have, which is getting lost in terms of finding the vehicles and ordinance drops and heavy vehicle spawn times, but I do have a solution:
Add map markers to vehicle and ordinance drops when they spawn, like what power items in arena
have, minus the timer. This will make sure new and old players dont miss these important items
Make the heavier vehicles such as tanks, the banshee, and a rocket hog drop in earlier in the match. I
like he progression of what vehicles are on the field, but the heavy ones take so long to spawn that
matches are often over before they do, meaning parts of the vehicle sandbox are never used.
Arena & ranked: I have 2 issues with this part of the game, one I mentioned before in this feedback but I will do so again sense it is relevant:
Give us sperate playlists for slayer and objective and other modes when they are added, both to let
people play what they want and to make challenges not made that much more of pain due to what mode
we get being so random
Once more maps are added, add a map veto system like what classic halo 3 had on the xbox 360, this
will let people skip maps they don't like without quitting while also making sure all of the maps get thier
time to shine, unlike a voting system similar to what classic halo reach had on xbox 360 where the same
maps always get voted for.
Maps: I have one issue with the map selection, though I am aware it is one that will take untill season 2 to solve:
Add map variety: this doesn't just mean more maps, the style of the 10 maps the game currently has is
either futuristic buildings, green pine forest, or some combination of those. Behemoth is the acceptation
(and is overall one of the best maps), and is an example of the needed variance in map environments,
jungles, snowy mountains, swamps, ect are all needed and welcome so the maps are less similar and
thus less boring.
