Halo Infinite Feedback so far

I’m going to give some feedback after a few hours of gameplay.

  1. Remove Sprint and Sliding and give us our thruster back .
    It feels like Walking and Sprinting are the same speed , I would much rather have a thruster and just increase the movement speed.

  2. Honestly in this state the game feels like black ops 4, the weapons don’t make much sense , and would just rather have the basic weapons instead of trying to introduce variety. Only a couple of weapons are actually viable.

  3. What are these maps , literally feel like COD maps , and play the exact same , pointless kills , no objective , no power positions , no strategy just chickens with head cut off.

  4. Why does the spike grenade exist ? What was wrong with frags and plasma grenades?

  5. I’m just confused by all these options for our controller sensitivity , we are not playing fortnite , please simplify this.

Don’t know how to downvote a post but please 343 don’t listen to this guy. also thrusters will be a type of equipment just fyi

First of all STOP living into the past , this HALO so far in terms of moovement is the best HALO ever made ever . Second of all No truster isnt better than sprint … Also there is a weird -Yoink- bug that make the screen and entire level shake like crazy

The weapon feel is WAY better and WAY more balanced than any previous Halo so far , but still the aliens guns projectiles remains at disavantages compare to the human versions wich is kinda silly the projectile speed of Aliens guns should be much higher

And Grenade spawn and spam should be reduced in my opinion but this is a reccurent Halo thing to have grenade spam wich i always found stupid and skill less …

So far even if the tech preview is rough aroud the edges almost all youre complains make no sens and unworthy of attention because you want Nostalgia but i dont

Interesting points let me give some thoughts on my own in a similar format,

Structured in concerns you have as well,

  1. Sprint seems okay addition with sliding they don’t need to be 100% cut but I think a balance where a custom game mode or lobbies that can disable these mechanics would be good. It benefits both fields of players.

  2. It definitely feels like a step from an exact halo formula but that just may be the skewed perspective of only one bot game mode and map.

  3. About the same point as three due to the limit content of flight, however intractables like teleporters or the like lifts ect… would add life and variation to the maps as a whole.

Also different biome maps like the variety we saw on all the original og maps h1 ,h2 ,h3…

  1. Sprinting does feel a little slow but then again, a big criticism levied against 343 was sprint being so fast they had to make the maps huge to accommodate this, so I actually like the sprint speed.

  2. We’ve only been playing ONE map on ONE gamemode. It’s silly to expect the full weapons sandbox to be able to shine in a small 4v4 map. Wait until we get some BTB in the flights. As for ‘only a couple of weapons are actually viable’, this is more in tune with classic Halo. A lot of people disliked the fact that every gun in Halo 5 was a killing machine. It’s good to see some weapons take on more utility-based roles rather than straight up DPS.

  3. It’s a simple 4v4 map. Given it’s the first flight, they want to make the testing environment as simple as possible to iron out the critical bugs to gameplay first. As I said, BTB will likely be coming in a future flight so wait until then if you don’t like the current situation. And as for ‘it feels like CoD’, I’m pretty sure Halo CE and Halo 2 beat CoD to the punch with small arena maps.

  4. Firstly, spike grenades were introduced in Halo 3, so your criticism is 14 years late. Secondly, spike grenades have a unique damage cone associated with them which, when used skilfully, can kill enemies where plasma grenades cannot.

  5. Halo is, and mostly has been, a competitive PvP game (of course, halo has had it’s massive social and creative sides, but the competitive community is a significant portion of the game’s player base). Pros will appreciate being able to tweak these intricate settings. If you don’t like it, just stick with the defaults.

I disagree , So call " pro players " should evolve at some point and stop relying on bad and old game mechanics thinking they are on top of the world … While they are no longer anything … They should learn and addapt and get better with mechanics that are now mainstreamed in any game

The " old school " crap zoom also shouldnt have been made this way , its silly and garbage old tech that were making back then the use of ironsights and real scopes but now in 2021 we have the tech to make these animation etc,. did not exist in Halo 1 time and yet because of nostalgia fanatics they made it " old school " wich look and feel terrible even compare to cheap B series shooter games with ironsights and scopes … At least Bungie understood what they needed to do to escape Halo 1 and 2 fanatical non sens … THey mooved away from Halo and made destiny wich had a much better gunplay , gun animation etc,… than any halo ever made …

They should have at least made a Normal mode with Ironsights and all and a garbo nostalgia mode that can be toggle on and off for scopes , but for core gameplay Run and slide should Always be part of the game … Past Halo were pure garbage when it comme to character moovement . Halo 5 being the least worst of them all but Infinite as it is beside the " screen and level shaking weirdless " as a MUCH better moovement and gameplay than any past HALO combined … I dont live in a nostalgia world

Give to any real FPS players gamer a reskin Halo 2 and 3 , and a reskin Halo infinite gameplay and ask them wich one feel and play better … 100% of them will say Infinite and will say the reskined Halo game not knowing is halo is pure garbage

To start off, the grenades are too overpowered. Your shields deplete too quickly when hit with a grenade blast so you don’t have enough time to react to the changing environment. It feels more like a CoD game with gun fights and health. If I had one suggestion to give to 343 it would be to increase health, reduce grenade damage and/or detonation speed, and find some other ways to slow down gun fights because it feeling more like a CoD game like I said previously. Power weapons feel deemphasized because gun fights are so fast and grenades are so powerful you are better off garbing a weapon that finished a kill rather than a weapon the initiates a gun fight. Another thing I would add is for me it is too hard to tell when shields have broken at a glance which affects my decision making mid combat. I would also love to see assassinations added to the multiplayer. A buff to the pistol would be appreciated. In conclusion Halo Infinite is fun so far but I fell with these modification the gameplay would be dramatically improved.
I like the game so far keep up the good work.

I mean why do you even play halo? you seem to hate everything that makes halo what it is, just play something else and let the actual fans enjoy it.

I feel like gun fights are long and people are bullet sponges. Coming from other games, you live for awhile in this game. Plus shields regen

I immediately noticed the maps didn’t look as cartoon like as H5. Love the texture and lighting. Really impressed with the sound effects and love the music! I felt Déjà vu when I heard the music. It reminded me a lot of Halo 2! The grenades sound awesome, the weapons and sound of the armor being hit is awesome.

I really like bots. Can’t tell you how many times my friends and I wanted to play a custom game, but didn’t have enough people to make even teams. Or wanted to play an old map favorite created in forge that was too big to play with our small group. Or maybe play on old forge created, favorite Halo 2 map by myself that I downloaded from the community, but couldn’t because I was by myself.

r when you play big team and 50% of your team suddenly quits and it kills the game. I like the bots.

first impressions so far is two thumbs up from me. It’s like the best of 343i Halo 5 with a nostalgic feel of the old games I loved since 2003.

I liked that the needler shows the ammo count on the back. Not sure how I feel about the hit markers on the enemy’s body. Felt like Bathesda Fall out targeting system in a wired way. Hopefully that doesn’t make gameplay to easy for everyone to get headshots? Takes some of the skill out of it?

The sprint is different from walking, no thrusters are nice. The maps are training grounds so I don’t see the big deal. It’s two maps and already complaining. Why would we ever want to try out weapons??? :thinking::thinking::thinking:

This ain’t it, Chief. I’ve seen enough gameplay to know that what you’re asking is not a good idea. If these are your ideas for a good Halo, maybe you need to play something else… just saying.

Destiny is the most boring game ever made. You do realize that the Spartans helmets/huds are linked to their guns therefore certain weapons don’t use traditional ads but some do.

Absolutely defeats the purpose of a grenade………

Thank you guys for the feedback , the biggest problem with sprint is that your maps have to be bigger and more random , therefore these maps feel more like call of duty maps, if we simply just had thrusters it would just add another element to strafing. For a futuristic sci-fi this feels more call of duty ish. At least the thrusters were more future friendly. I would advise everyone here to go try out splitgate , and that game feels more like a halo game than actual halo. Power weapons , power positions , all weapons are viable and make sense in multiple situations , these current weapons I just have to spam the right trigger and boom kill, no thought whatsoever and does not matter what weapon i’m using. Personally I am a very casual player now and based off of the two games, I much rather prefer Spitgate with my time, just sucks that 343 keeps doubling down on whatever they want , and care more about micro transactions than fun immersive gameplay. Fan boys will continue to play , but for a real OG of halo , this game just feels like another sci-fi shooter on the market. Doom, Titanfall , Black Ops 4 , literally all the same game , with different titles. Halo used to offer something unique , now it’s just a cookie cutter shooter. I’ll see you all on Splitgate , unless something changes. Feel free to disagree but I care about results , and when in H5 I can’t even find a match , I know i’m right about the industry.

These are all awful takes , very boomer takes too. especially the last one about controller settings. for that I almost think this is bait. im glad everyone in the comments here understands the absurdity of this dudes statements.

PERSONAL AI VOICE FEEDBACK:
I think the AI voices are cool, but I’d like a separate option in the audio settings to disable and lower the volume of the AI voices in the mix. Sometimes I’d just like to hear the legend Jeff Steitzer rollout some classic lines.

Shooters need Sprinting. Old school (No running Halo) is a thing of the past. Get with the times.The community hated thrusters. I personally like it. Adds an extra level to the gameplay. I would like it to be some sort of equipment, Think that will be cool.

I Disagree. Doom is not the same game as the rest of the games you listed.
