Halo Infinite - Feature Reworks/Overhauls

Hey everyone, just wanted to preface this by saying I typed this all up back in January so some of these ideas have somewhat been done or communicated by the devs but I still wanted to leave them in there due to some of the ideas relating to others. If you have any constructive feedback for me I would greatly appreciate it!

Halo Reach-esque Progression/Challenge System

  • Same ranks as reach (also provides exclusive career/progression unlocks when hitting specific tiers in addition to storefront items)
  • Re-introduce credit system, credits can be used to buy cosmetics (Armor attachments, coatings, weapon attachments, etc)
  • Weekly and Daily Store Items can be purchased for credits as well as real money but require a significant amount of credits to purchase (incentivize players to play more while also rewarding the player for their time)
  • Challenges reworked to be more rewarding while (More XP, also reward credits, completing all rewards in a week gives a decent chunk of XP and credits as well as a reward)
  • Challenge requirements reworked to be more fair. No game specific challenges unless the mode is available exclusively as a playlist. No more challenges requiring wins. No more weapon specific challenges unless it can be completed in PvP AND PvE. (Weapon specific challenges are completed faster in PvP)
  • Add PvE Challenges (provides incentives to purchase campaign if they haven’t already plus allows those not crazy about multiplayer to still complete challenges without punishing themselves by doing PvP, in future updates this can also include challenges for Firefight/Warzone)
  • Weekly Challenge rewards should be more rewarding, nameplates don’t suffice. Weekly rewards should be coatings, stances, armor pieces.

Customization

  • Coatings and visors become completely cross core
  • Basic color system reintroduced as a customizable “recruit coating” that can be modified to players color choices. (Added benefit of getting rid of all of the white tier armor coatings that are just a single color that clutter the customization options)
  • Begin rework of armor pieces to become cross core starting off with basic pieces
  • Rework emblem system to allow more customization (actual emblem icon and background separates and allow custom colors for emblems instead of pre-made pallets)

Battlepass

  • Challenge swaps and double XP either removed from pass entirely or only included with other pass rewards as a bonus
  • Pass rewards need to be condensed (no more only earning left shoulder/right leg pieces, should be earned as pair)
  • Fracture/Event Passes should not be time/level gated so that you can only do 10 tiers a week, if someone wants to grind out the event then they should be able to do so. And for those that haven’t started or completed the pass it can still appear again in the future for those that missed out

Store

  • Complete Rework for the store, everything that is currently available as a customization (besides battlepass rewards and career progressions unlocks) should be available to be bought for premium currency or for credits
  • Prices adjusted for items as current prices are way too high (only justification for these prices are for the bundles to include SIGNIFICANTLY more)
  • Featured Bundles on the storefront should be bundles that can be purchased at a discounted price than just straight up purchasing them one by one, providing incentive to purchase featured bundles on the store front when available but while also eliminating FOMO by having items also be available in the store. Having these available for credits as well gives players incentive to keep playing more to earn and save up their credits for featured bundles

Additional Suggestions/Feedback/Questions

  • While Theater mode is a thing, it currently does not offer a way to replay campaign gameplay (if not possible on a technical level maybe a compromise of adding a photo mode? Photo mode effects should be added to theater as well)
  • Rework of UI for customization to be some type of vertical grid off to the side rather than a wheel underneath the player so its easier to navigate
  • Why is there no way to have Master Chiefs current Mark 6 armor in multiplayer?
  • Possibility of adding a skull to campaign that allows us to play as our multiplayer spartan
