Halo Infinite fan project 100x more impressive than Official Campaign

If you guys never saw this YouTuber months ago before launch, they created their own Halo Infinite Campaign world in Unreal Engine 4, expecting the official Infinite Campaign to be even better.

Well, it wasn’t.

This fan project is infinitely more impressive, with far greater art direction, map design, lighting, textures, and effects

Zeta Halo based on CE -

Graphical and audio effects based on Reach -

Beautiful desert biome that the official one won’t compare -

343, who was your Campaign art director? Can you unironically please for the love of Halo, hire “Infinite Forges” to make your maps? PLEASE 343. Infinite’s Campaign map is so painfully stale and uninteresting.

Please seriously consider redesigning the whole Campaign overworld. A single fan made these with zero budget.

Looks like crap to me?

Talk to your doctor about glaucoma
If you think this demo made by a single person for absolutely free, looks worse than the millions of dollars dumped stale official campaign, compared to the Bungie era campaigns, you’re coping hard

The official campaign is a bare bones sandbox with some rocks and trees here and there. It’s not interesting or appealing in any way, shape, or form, compared to CE-Reach

Infinite doesn’t even have water or atmospheric lighting. You didn’t even find the mushrooms that glow when approached to be interesting? Didn’t find the sound effects to be powerful? You can barely hear anything in Infinite with the poor audio mixing compared to Reach. Can’t hear distant sounds, can’t hear footsteps, etc

This was made in Dreams on a PS4 by a guy. There’s a reason all of these are slow walks through scenery.

Super impressive work, but should not be even remotely compared to making a full game. They are completely different beasts.

Damn that is very pretty for Dreams
My point though was Bungie spent 2 years per Halo title Campaign, and this Halo Forge guy made his whole YouTube channel of levels in a months each, alone, for free

343 spent years, fully staffed, outsourced, and half billion budget, with half a decade, and the campaign was dirt on hexagons

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Campaign was made in Forge with Forge props

Needs more space moles.

The different biomes Halo rings are known for were one the things I missed a lot in the campaign. It would have been amazing to see some of the islands in the style of some of these videos. Thanks for sharing.

Also, there might be some hope though. I don’t know if you saw some of the forge leaks, but environmental effects were teased. It turned Behemoth into a winter wonderland and Bazaar into a gritty dark map.

I saw those. This YouTuber is a very skilled Forge map maker, so they and other map makers will take full advantage of Infinite’s Forge when it comes

It’s just a bummer that the Campaign wasn’t as nice as the multiplayer maps are

Looks pretty! Now, take all of this with a grain of salt. I am NOT a developer. But I imagine there is a massive difference between what this lad did and making and optimizing an entire game for multiple platforms with different technical features.

But also, I am going to have to shut this one down, as calling for employees to be fired is considered non-constructive and against the rules.
