Halo Infinite Esports Armour Colours

I am not going to use this thread to moan or argue about the monetization of Infinite in general, but I have some genuine feedback for 343 specifically about their sold armour coatings on the shop.

I bought the Fnatic armour coating for a few reasons - 1: I like the team 2: Orange and Black is my fav colour combo - so it was an easy choice.

The problem is, I bought this pack thinking that this armour coating (aka the colours) could be used on any armour core. When looking at the purchase, it probably says somewhere Fnatic armour coating for Mark VII specifically, but that’s beside the point. There was literally no part of me that thought that would be the case. Alas I was wrong.

I really believe that 343 should make armour coatings usable on all armour cores, ESPECIALLY those that you purchase from the shop. I have paid £8 for some colours on an armour core I don’t even want to use, as I would much prefer to use the Mark V or Yoroi armours with the Fnatic colours. Having to pay for armour coatings aside, EVEN if they were earnable and free, this seems like a really thoughtless way of doing colours for the armours.

I am simply confused why each armour core has to have separate armour coatings. It makes no sense to me.

I really hope someone at 343 sees this concern, I am not trying to be toxic or belligerent, I just can’t see why making armour colours you literally have to buy available on all armour cores would be a bad thing.

I don’t care about the armor coating setup. Nor do I watch or care about eSports. I’m just sad there wasn’t an eSports team with a purple uniform, cuz i’da bought that one. Alas, I’m patiently grinding toward Tempest Lilac.

Not the OP topic, I’m aware. I’m just speaking into the void.

I totally agree that it is pretty lame that the esport bundles don’t contain actual armor coatings that can be used on any Mark VII armor. It is also lame that coatings don’t work cross core.

Not only for the regular players but also for the esport players themselves: they all look the same, which is pretty boring.

BUT I am surprised you didn’t see this when buying the bundle. When opening the bubdle it is pretty obvious it only contains a kit, a br and an emblem. No armorcoating was even shown in the bundle, so I don’t think it was misleading.

I do hope one day they will fix this and let us use all coatings cross core, including the versions from the esport teams.

No you’re right that it probably wasn’t misleading, I was just being hasty and very much liked the colours so bought without reading too much.

I am just saddened that these colours are now forever stuck on a simple set of armour that I cannot change at all.

If you inspect the kit in the customization menu, you can see that it uses an armor coating, so if you don’t understand how kits work (which is unintuitivw and many wouldn’t know until after they unlocked at least one) it would be pretty easy to be misled.
