When the pilot asked Chief what next I literally said “finish the fight” at the same time as him.
And I could not believe it.
I was merely joking with myself and yet 343 was not. They actually chose to go with the most contested ending to any Halo hahaha. Like, yes, it’s an iconic quote, but people hated that sudden ending with 2.

I personally hated it and think its lame.
Haha that’s why I said I was joking with myself when I said it aloud alongside him. I am actually in disbelief.
It also seemed like it was intended as a wink at the camera kind of moment. It’s literal in the sense that the campaign is very obviously set to be expanded before it reaches any real conclusion, but its also something I think they intended to fire people up with the line, forgetting how completely contentious its context was at the end of Halo 2.
Yup and that’s exactly my issue with it and why I was floored about it. I felt like there was a lot of build up and build up and then I’m hit with the Halo 2 line.
