And your supposed successor is capable? I think you’re letting this blind hatred go to your head. No matter what you tell yourself, it would’ve ended the same way with whatever dev you chose.
What matters now is whether you’re going to spend your time spearheading this pointless pipe dream or actually giving out some constructive feedback. There’s plenty of topics and people seem to be gunning for the option of shooting themselves in the foot.
If 343 exits, we’ll be left at the mercy of whatever dev they pick. It can always get worse trying to be picky.
Why do you think this?
Halo ended up the way it did because 343 decided to change Halo in the worst ways possible. Why are you attributing this characteristic to any other developer? You genuinely think Bungie is the only company capable of making a Halo game? It’s not magic. All the aspects of Halo, in it’s prime, are quantifiable. They’re replicable and can be done better and iteratively.
343 refused to build off their predecessors and that’s why they’re regarded as failures. This is not something we should expect with “whatever dev” that might replace them.
What benefit exactly does sticking with 343 pose? We already know that they don’t desire to make a good Halo game. That, or they simply can’t comprehend what Halo is. How does giving them another chance benefit us at all? We’ve given them half a.dozen chances already. They struck out and you’re still defending them.

Yes absolutely in the hands of certain affinity and saber interactive they would treat halo right look at halo 2 anniversary and its multiplayer even though they were on a time limit they gave us the best looking game in the series while also sticking to the routes of halo and not chasing trends

You’re acting like 343 has never ignored its fans and always listened
The only time 343 listens is when they are desperate look at halo 5 with its req system and mcc(prior to el dewito)
It took a mod that gave out something better than what 343 was doing at the time and them canceling it for them to actually fix mcc and port it to pc
More people played and enjoyed el dewito than halo 5 and when it got shut down everyone was pissed

I’ve criticized 343 plenty. That doesn’t mean they’re incapable of changing. They improved the artstyle and gave Halo a more classic look.
If anything you guys are acting like 343 hasn’t done anything positive. I’m not here to endlessly crap on 343. Credit where is due.
We have seen them pull the same routine over and over
They make bad decisions and launch a game in a awful state → oh sorry we failed you we promise to fix our screw ups and do better in the future → starts reversing and fixing stuff while adding content or abandon it like they did with halo 4 and mcc before el dewito happened → repeat process for a decade
A LOT OF US gave them a second chance and got burned for it you’re acting like we want 343 to fail
Funny how you thank 343 for mcc when all they did with that game originally was throw a bunch of games together on a engine with a broken ui and hoped for the best when certain affinity and saber interactive and blur did all the hard work when it came to the big game that was in the collection at the time which was halo 2 anniversary
If el dewito never happened you would’ve still had a broken collection of games that only got somewhat fixed not the mcc we have today
And this is coming from someone who played mcc at launch and was wanting them to fix it for years and it pisses me off that they ignored it until el dewito happened and I’m even more pissed that i thought they have changed only to get burned

Okay I’ll explain. I am spending a lot of time waiting for this game and I want my time spent waiting to be rewarded.

I have been with this series since halo 2 and i can say this with soul into it 343 has failed we have given them a decade for them to turn around but they keep making the same mistakes over and over and over and over and I’m sick of it

I just want my time spent waiting to be rewarded. If 343 ends up being replaced and I have to wait even longer for changes because they were interrupted midway again, I will drop halo like a rock. I am not -Yoink!-ing kidding.

I’ve seen it with halo 4
I’ve seen it with mcc TWICE
I’ve seen it with halo 5
And I’VE SEEN IT WITH INFINITE
There’s no reason to wait for them to change anymore when they haven’t for a decade while promising that they will

Just change out the leadership. Get a Captain who knows what they are doing. The current brass has had 10 years to make Halo great and have done the opposite.
All they have done is over-promise and absolutely under-deliver.

Sure Staten is working on Infinite, but I believe he was brought in for the next Halo. Infinite is dying quick, and I don’t see Microsoft continuing to pump money into a sub par game.
It’s too late for Forge, Campaign Co-op, or even fixed Custom Games. If they ever want to truly bring the audience back, it’ll take a whole new game to shed the damage that Infinite has done.
