I am, too. But if I’m having to wait 3 years as opposed to 6 to reach the best possible outcome? I’d choose to wait the 3.
Well, we could talk about what else needs to be fixed. Like the aiming? Which nobody on here likes talks about for some reason?
We’ve already touched on forge, progression, challenges and whatnot. There are topics on here people can discuss without going full on “Fire Bon Ross” or some dumb crap like that.
Yeah, I agree, I’m not a believer in “fire this person or that person” unless they are totally incompetent. Can always change roles maybe, but it won’t change the problems at hand. Though people are extremely frustrated.
On a side note, the same with praising a person, like Joe Staten. People claiming he will be Halo’s saviour. I have nothing against him, although I don’t believe he was brought back to do what everyone thinks he was.
Yeah. Joe’s alright but I’m not gonna obsessively idolize him like everyone does Marty.
Keep in mind that it took 6 years for an already established first party studio to release another game in the flagship series.
When people were subjected to waiting the entirety of highschool and a good half of their college education waiting for a new halo game, then it’s not too much of a stretch to wait for however long it would take a new studio to make a better game.
Newsflash: It wouldn’t take 6 years to do that. It’s insane that people think a 4+ or even 5+ years development cycle is okay. It never is. Definitely not if it’s a sequel to a major cliffhanger story.
All the issues we’re seeing is a classic example of incompetency. They don’t know what they’re doing and they’re refusing to learn.
I wouldn’t really say shutting down a studio you never worked at screams “competency.”
The fact that this is even being suggested and supported is what alarms me. Do you really care about this game? ![]()
Do YOU know what you’re doing? Cause shipping Halo off sounds like a risk. How do you know Certain Affinity will respect the franchise? They’ve been working with 343 for years. And like you said 343 doesn’t know what they’re doing.
How will ID know what Halo fans do and don’t like? They’ve never worked on a Halo game before.
ID are the people behind doom. Bethesda was the publisher. The people who made doom 2016 and eternal, great single-player games btw, have absolutely nothing to do with the people who made Fallout 76.
Paraphrasing the acting male, 343 is out of time. They screwed up. An extra 3 years is absolutely unacceptable. Time is not some endless currency.
I know it’s off topic, but do you realize all the things that occur over a 3 year period? People grow up, people die, people are born, and people lose interest in things they used to love. You’re asking for an extra three years for something that would’ve impacted the most in 2018.
It’s way too late. 2020, was way too late. Delaying Halo Infinite to December of 2021, essentially 5 1/3 years after Halo 5, is much too late. And now people are saying we need to be patient for another 3 years? As I already said in a previous reply, people grow up and stop caring when half a decade passes by.
It’s almost over, and extra 3 years would be the nail in the coffin.
My nephew would be 9 by the time you say Halo Infinite should be ready. I was playing Halo 5 when he was an infant.
I seriously don’t understand your sentiment here.
If we keep having 343 develop Halo, it will NEVER be great like it used to be. The issue is with 343. Why are you saying you’d rather wait 3 years for a platter of guaranteed -yoink- as opposed to waiting however long it would take another dev to make Halo?
Firstly, I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that it takes 5+ years to make a game like Halo, it doesn’t. You’re of this perception because 343 is uniquely slow and inefficient with their developing.
So no, I do not think a new dev would take 6 years to make another Halo. Nobody should ever expect that. That long of a dev cycle is purely due to 343’s incompetence.
Again, I’d rather take my chances with a new dev than accept a GUARANTEED PLATTER OF BULL-yoink- that we all know 343 would produce.
Halo Infinite would run like crap in 2018 and it was probably worse off than what they had in December.
Btw, that 3 years was an estimate. They might get it done sooner than that. Who knows. That’s the main point. You don’t know what they’re working on and are trying to shut them down with no grounds to do so.
If you don’t want to wait, you could play something else while they fix it. However, I don’t agree that shutting down 343 is the answer.
I wasn’t claiming that Halo Infinite should have released in 2018 as it was, I was CLAIMING that they should have had their -yoink- together and created a game in a reasonable amount of time. Taking 6 years to develop a FPS game is pathetic. Any time after 2018 was too late. We had no knowledge of another game until 2019; that’s too late. Everything with 343 is defined by being too late.
Do you even understand what I’m getting at here? You seemed to just ignore my whole point there??? You also misinterpreted why I even brought up 2018. If you’re not even going to read, don’t reply.
You don’t have a point. Firing the people fixing the game is stupid.
Plain and simple. I don’t know what else to tell you other get over it.
343 isn’t getting disbanded.
Do you even understand what you’re advocating for? Einstein’s joking definition of insanity comes to mind. Why are you content with the crap that 343 is shoveling down your throat? I seriously don’t understand.
You’re defense for why they shouldn’t be dissolved makes no sense. You’re explaining why with your emotions of not wanting to wait 6 years for a new dev to make it, which I already told you would be highly unlikely. Then you’re trying to assume that a newer dev would potentially do a same or worse job than 343?
Why? Why not better? Why are you so -yoink-ing- content with what’s guaranteed to be terrible? We already know that more time means nothing to 343. They’d hardly make any progress and whatever they do manage to make would be garbage.
I am not content with the state Halo Infinite is in now. Another baseless assumption you made because you can’t possibly believe advocating for the removal of a dev isn’t the right thing to do.
I never said I liked what they did with Infinite but I do like what they did with MCC. Stop making stupid assumptions just because you’re pissed at 343. If I can wait, why can’t you? What’s so hard about playing different games?
I made that post while really drunk so normally I try to avoid making non constructive posts but my true thoughts spilled out I guess
The main reason why 343 has been working with them is because they are veterans in the scene and has people from bungie who worked on key portions of the series meanwhile 343 was founded off with people who hate halo go back to halo 4’s promotion
If you look at one of the main guys in charge he outright says he created halo 3’s matchmaking with the goal of having fun and having social elements into it in mind ie letting people have fun in casual and says that the sbmm is too strict and needs to be loosen up in casual mode
hmmmm sounds like he cares about the life of the game meanwhile we have 343 who have been caught multiple times insulting fans who brought up issues in the past heck allegedly they called fans moochers of reach at some point and has lied multiple freaking times cough cough hunt the truth wheeze wheeze infinite won’t have fomo in it hack cough have ignored feedback when outright asked for it and changed stuff that didn’t need to be changed
People like saber interactive and certain affinity has shown that they know what they’re doing with halo when having to handle the ip be it help with the campaign or multiplayer heck saber are the ones behind halo 2 anniversary while 343 was busy working with halo 5 hmm i wonder how the majority of the fanbase thinks about that game
While 343 higher ups have done nothing but chase trends for the past -YOINK- decade and -Yoink!- off and divide fans
It wasn’t an assumption. You’d rather wait for 343 to churn out more -yoink- instead of have another dev take the reins. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. As in, you can’t keep the devs and expect them to eventually make something good.
- *finish the game than churn out more -yoink-
Same here man. Just Finished Reach and on the last mission of CE. I love watching the entire story unfold. Its like watching that one movie you could never get sick of no matter how many times it on TV ![]()
It was an assumption. I want them to fix the game and you’re too blinded by frustration to see that.
